The Demon Swordsman 3

The Demon Swordsman 3
Ch. 29 - The Face of Fear

Li Baixuan no longer underestimated the opponent's threat, she knew that Xin Chen would actually do it. Because the young man is capable. Even so, in the crucial moments even, Li Baixuan was still able to chuckle.

"If you use your ten swords, then I will use my thousand swords. Go ahead if you think you can beat me."

Everyone who had been about to watch the fight between the two was stunned as Xin Chen raised his sword high with one hand.

"For the Shang Empire!"

The shout unexpectedly boomed loudly, accompanied by the thunderous roar that began to churn. The soldiers of the Shang Empire stood up straight again. They brandished the sword upwards as Xin Chen did, one by one they started following Xin Chen. Chanting the name of the Shang Empire to the sky, passing the boundaries of the gray clouds. If the rain comes back down to wet the earth below, then certainly the water carried is no more than a pool of blood.

It formed the largest sea of blood in history. Xin Chen and Li Baixuan had been standing opposite each other in a huge stone rubble from the mountain range.

Without waiting for an attack from the opponent, Li Baixuan opened the fight with one devastating shock. The sword in his hand melted down by his own strength and turned into two long whips.

The man threw down a single lunge of death, lucky for Xin Chen to dodge quickly before the white whip surrounded by great force struck.

A tree that was behind Xin Chen sounded rustling, the former lash in the middle of the tree trunk was cut very neatly. Even the tree remained standing upright even though it had split in two, until a big wind came knocking down the part that had been cut.

Not stopping to get there, Li Baixuan ran fast and instantly intensified the attack from various directions. He lost track of Xin Chen afterwards, and knew that someone had been standing behind Li Baixuan's back.

Two nearly thin blue swords tore through Li Baixuan's back, but even though the attack was at a blind spot, Li Baixuan could sniff Xin Chen's attack from anywhere. And without seeing it. Li Baixuan dodged the attack by placing her sword crossed on her back.

In the next instant that became the biggest misfortune for Xin Chen, he only realized that Li Baixuan's sword had returned which meant that the whip that the man had used before had disappeared. In one strike a whip-like object moved straight towards Xin Chen. Xin Chen turned his head when he saw Li Baixuan take out the weapon he had most dodged.

A tone of regret appeared, he shook his head twice as if the past was so strange to tell.

"I have always hoped to raise up my brothers and sisters, with this power. But there's nothing I can do at all."

Li Baixuan held up a paper with ancient letters made by blood ink.

"This spell was made using the blood of a great spirit user in the past."

The whip moved without needing Li Baixuan to touch, tying up Xin Chen's suddenly unmoved body. His face had no expression at all.

As Li Baixuan approached the young man and touched the sparks marks on her forehead, she was shocked. Like just touching a block of ice, so cold.

For a moment, Xin Chen froze without saying a word. The surrounding turned into a city he deeply missed. The city he saw from the middle of the sea was burning. The city where he last met a person he loved dearly. And a city where her happiness feels complete.

Renwu City that was filled with corpses lay down. Voices of despair and fear. Smoke rising from all sides. And her current self; trapped in the grip of the enemy as when she was captured by the Demon Queen and almost killed at that very moment.

The fear haunted Xin Chen slowly until he was unaware that the fight was still continuing before his eyes.

Li Baixuan saw that. The face of fear. The look on his face changed, but it came back the way it was. It was precisely Li Baixuan who was getting more and more happy when she saw her enemy was weak because that was the opportunity for her to finish off Xin Chen.
