The Demon Swordsman 3

The Demon Swordsman 3
Ch. 163 - Rain Temple

They were only delivered to the big road as the man had said at the beginning, after a little chat they finally parted on the road. There's not much they can say because it's basically the same out there as anywhere else. Surrounded by many infected. One message emphasized by them, do not get the disease.

Because for now, not all deadly diseases have a cure.

Rain Temple. The temple has many other temple branches scattered on the Chumei hill. It is located on the outskirts of the Wei Empire and is surrounded by lush forests. Its hidden location makes not many people can come there. And plus, the forest there is not completely safe.

Infected humans from the village cross over the forests, most dangerous when passing on the trails at night. There's no chance of survival if the infected mob is already catching up.

The Rain Shrine that Xin Chen and Lang were aiming for could not be visited without an invitation. Two days of distress-filled travel finally both arrived at the gate of the Rain Temple, precisely when the afternoon and overcast above disguised their body odor. At least this time they were lucky enough because thanks to the heavy rain on Chumei Hill the infected were unable to smell their bodies.

A man in a white robe to the floor opened the gate carefully, after he peeked out of the door hole of course.

He looked at Xin Chen watchfully.

"Give me your invitation."

Xin Chen gave Luo Li's inlay, the man examined her for a moment and asked inside.

Long enough they were left waiting outside, the night completely went down in just a matter of half an hour. Xin Chen started to fidget, he heard the voices behind getting closer and seemed to be heading towards them.

The gate is not opening now.

Lang growling. "It looks like the person inside is still busy looking. We could be dying out here if they linger."

"We have no choice but to wait." Xin Chen could have barged in, between climbing up or using spirit power. But the second most risky option, his spirit would have possessed hundreds of infected in the forest and of course the Rain Temple and the people inside would not have survived if that happened.

Given when infected possessed by spirits could even climb the walls of the Death Labyrinth hundreds of meters high. This barrier in the Rain Temple was nothing if faced with being infected being possessed.

True to Xin Chen's guess, after the rain stopped their olfactory became strong. Being infected is much more aggressive at night. Meanwhile the two were still confused waiting in front of the gate.

Lang looked back, calling Xin Chen.

"Damn it, you saw the first creature that came."

Xin Chen could not guess what type of infection it was, but he had a frail body like a bone wrapped in skin. His hair was long to the feet, almost like a ghost. And it has a lizard-like tail and a long, poisonous tongue. It was most likely a failed human trial and now his eyes were staring at Xin Chen full of grudges.

The horrifying sighting in the middle of the dark forest gave him a slight chill, Xin Chen intended to use the Fire of Eternity to keep watch and a few moments after his body was pulled in, as well as Lang.

Xin Chen's eyes could feel so much light in the Temple that he had to squint. Dozens of lanterns on the ceiling of the temple, candles on the floor and some other lighting that makes the place like being in the daytime. A man walked so slowly in front of him, he looked at the two guests before speaking.

"You came because of my students?"

Xin Chen said it immediately. "True, a young healer named Luo Li told us to come here to deliver an item ..." Xin Chen looked at the man in an all-white shirt with a talisman wrapped around his neck. His face looked so calm like water, and his way of listening to Xin Chen was very friendly.

"Is he with you?" The man turned his head cursoryly back, before returning his eyes to Xin Chen.

"So unfortunate fate, even though he was a disciplined student. But fate says something else." Sadness was drawn on his aged face, the man as the drugstore keeper had said. Old old. But his body looks healthy.

"I'm sorry about it."

"thank you. Come in first, it's so cold outside. Rest, I'll see you in the morning. There are some things I have to do."

The young physician whose age was under Luo Li guiding them to a similar place of dormitory devoted to guests, he did not speak much. And looking at the situation on the inside of the temples, it seems that there is a problem there.

The night was so crowded at the Rain Temple, raindrops came pouring down again along the temple road. Xin Chen and Lang waited in the room while occasionally looking from the window. A disciple in the temple ran like a fool, spewing blood all the way. Plus the heavy rain back then, his footsteps repeatedly slipped.

The person who followed him brought some medicine to give but the young man who was affected by the illness refused and groaned in pain. His eyes bleed, as well as his nose and ears.

A while they drifted away when they realized the young man was starting to move strangely. The sound of his bones sounded so loud. And in the next split second, the young man started attacking anyone until it damaged his own body.

Xin Chen woke up. Following the assault from Lang.

"Don't interfere in their business. Sitting sweet good boy."

Either ridicule or order, Xin Chen replied exasperatedly. "Then you sit here sweet let me finish it out there."

Lang snorted, "I'm too old to argue with a kid like you. Go if you want. But what you need to know, the blood of that person can directly transmit the disease. Don't bother me when you're bitten like you already are."

He went down the stairs, seeing the chaos begin to rule the Rain Temple. The infected young man started biting the humans, the Temple Master tied his neck with a chain aided by the others. But to no avail, he ate the chain mercilessly. Until his teeth bleed.

The rain made the young man's blood spread faster. The disease looks unnatural. One of the healers saw his blood as if chasing him in a puddle of water. He's goosebumps not artificial. Until one of them was hit and immediately fell in a puddle, a red color immediately gathered in place and the man began to show almost the same symptoms as the young man before.

The victims continue to fall.

"Keep away from being infected and don't get exposed to their blood," Xin Chen's cry beat out the loud sound of rain. They were initially confused and began to split up in the circle-shaped courtyard. Xin Chen raised his hand, creating the Fire of Immortality that surrounded the two infected.

The fire was not even extinguished as the torrent of rain fell incessantly, Xin Chen raised the temperature to its limit point. Burning the two people, he had the creeps to see their bodies still crawling in the midst of a fire that was so fierce. Until finally the body began to stiffen and a few minutes passed, not moving at all then Xin Chen extinguished the fire.

The healers in that place certainly knew such strength existed, and they could guess where Xin Chen came from. Luo Mei-Guru Great as well as the uncle of Luo Li knew that their guest this time must be from the Shang Empire.

Xin Chen looked at the sliced.

His fire took longer to completely burn the body, he did not understand why. But it seems that the blood in the body is very different from ordinary humans. Like a powerful parasite lives in it and moves in search of prey. It was only fitting that even the great researchers in this Empire were unable to create an antidote, the illness alone was already beyond reason like this.

The healers began to gather in the middle, drenched in the eyes of the disciple and one of the elders fell victim in the incident that night. But how else, if not killed they will be killed.

Luo Mei glanced at Xin Chen, bowing her head slightly.

"Lucky to have you with us. Otherwise the situation may be much worse ..."
