The Demon Swordsman 3

The Demon Swordsman 3
Ch. 166 - Flanked by Death

A sharp pile of wood and iron injured Lang's body, even one of them stuck in his thigh. The wolf got up immediately, aware of the deteriorating situation around. Drops of rain water on it soaked the living room of the house. The rats started walking towards him, the half-opened door not far away had been shattered. The infected enter the daggers, chasing Lang. The wolf ducked down, preparing to run at its strongest speed crashing into those infected herds.

But just a few steps running, Lang immediately retreated to see Infected Type S which became his nightmare actually came down from the roof and was about to hunt him. Strange thing, Lang wasn't even sure he could survive.

The situation was getting squeezed, Lang retreated until there was nowhere else to retreat. He even began to offend the area of the rats that had instantly invaded him mercilessly. Lang fought back, biting the rats until his mouth was filled with foul blood. Danger approached, Lang did not even have time to look forward because it continued to be bitten by the mouse.

The infected sticky hand began to target Lang's neck, the wolf roared in pain. Rats that attack him increasingly fierce, if it remains like this Lang sure in a matter of hours his body will only be left bones.

A thin rope similar to blue thread spread rapidly, the number was so much. The threads formed one giant hand, clutching dozens of infected in one grip and crushing them all at once.

Blood and pieces of body rupture, Lang realized the mice were burned by the fire that started burning the floor of the house. Lang knew the fire wouldn't hurt him. But still when a prison of fire surrounded his body, Lang could not calm down.

From behind the blaze, Lang could see the power of the Fire of Eternity as well as the power of lightning colliding within the bodies of the infected. They exploded one by one, revealing a terrifying scene that Lang had never seen in a lifetime.

The hundreds of humans were exploding with Xin Chen's strength, some of them being torn apart by gigantic fire hands. Xin Chen saved Lang immediately. Until Lang can climb back up to the roof they continue their journey up to the roof of the tallest tower in the village. Lang attacks two infected who are somehow there. Kick them down.

The infected down there have lost track of them, the rain has continued to fall even stronger over the last few minutes. Xin Chen could only breathe a sigh of relief, but on the other side his eyes started to blur.

Seeing Xin Chen's face so pale, Lang immediately took out Luo Mei's medicine. Give it to Xin Chen as quickly as possible before the young man started acting out.

"You all right?"

"Looks ..."

Lang breathed a sigh of relief, but the continued on from Xin Chen annoyed him.

"It doesn't seem to."

"Do you know when the abnormal behavior comes out? I suspect, when you're exhausted or thinking too much, you'll lose control."

"I don't know, but I used my strength excessively and felt like I couldn't breathe."

Xin Chen watched his hand, still normal. Luckily Lang was quick to give him medicine. He stood with his hands propped up on his knees, sweeping a gaze across the gloomy-looking village. Throughout his hearing, Xin Chen had only heard the sound of rat squeals, the sound of flies crawling corpses and infected and experimental demons that filled each street.

Xin Chen looked further, in the direction where the A-3 Laboratory should be located. But it appears to be closed by large buildings and housing. Xin Chen found nothing. From the map he got, the location of Laboratory A-3 is not at all written.

Lang snorted, his golden eyes centered on the crowded streets below.

"We won't be able to get down if that high-level infection is still there."

Xin Chen also caught the same thing. He took out a lightning arrow, pouring out more of that power than the Fire of Eternity at the tip of the arrow. From a considerable distance, the arrow stuck right on the infected forehead.

The creature searched, finding nothing. The arrow blew his head off, smashing his face until his jawbone was seen. He's still standing. Xin Chen searched for the most strategic place to aim, releasing a dart that shot fiercely smashed into the area of his nostrils until the back of his head.

The second blast toppled the infected directly, his body collapsing on another infected stomp. Xin Chen looked for the Type A Infected who had briefly chased after them and had both of them directly attacked by them. Successfully finding his position, Xin Chen aimed an arrow.

He tried to aim at the same place as before, the counting rod area. The shot ended with an explosion that broke the entire infected brain. And sure enough, he fell down.

Xin Chen knew their weaknesses. After the previous Fire of Eternity took up to tens of minutes to burn just one, now the combined power of lightning and the fire of Eternity could kill them with just one or two shots.

Xin Chen got the idea from a weapon whose mechanism was almost the same as the arrow. A direct devastating explosion at one point. If they burn, the brain of the corpse is still able to survive the heat and takes a long time.

"Getting a good new gun, eh?" Lang docked to the end, standing at Xin Chen's side while throwing a distant glance.

Perhaps the apocalypse had come faster in this land, so the humans inside died horribly. Or this was a punishment for their own actions, Lang was unable to guess where their suffering came from. It's just that of course the mastermind behind this is all humans who have been too smart until their cruelty far exceeds the animals that create deadly diseases.

Whatever the mastermind behind this was all, Lang was still confident this Empire would improve - one day, he turned his gaze to the same Xin Chen who seemed to be paying close attention. I can't bear to see so many innocent people being victims.

The new rain was about to stop when it arrived at the crossroads of the night, Lang initially refused because Xin Chen wanted to move straight away. The chance of danger grew even greater, Xin Chen already knew that, but they only had two days to find the Donkey Deer Taring Luo Mei meant.

Up to the second where Xin Chen had actually descended, Lang who could not prevent him could only come along. As he said, he was too old to argue with a stone-headed human of Xin Chen's kind.

The noise in this uninhabited village seemed undifferentiated. Xin Chen arrived at one of the houses that looked more like a slaughterhouse. Many of the remains of goats and cows were hung in them. But among other places, only the house was the cleanest of the infected.

They entered, walking carefully until suddenly the second step was restrained. Xin Chen retreated as well as Lang, just a few tens of meters in front of being connected to the animal breeding grounds, a few men of spirit gathered. They have their own secure pathway that separates them from the path of the infected. It's about four people.

They dragged a wagon filled with human corpses, throwing it inside the spacious house without any furniture inside. Then just leave.

Xin Chen continued to look inside even though his nose seemed to be pierced by the smell of a carcass that stung him more and more so. Witnessing both human extinction and the brutality of the plague in the Wei Empire.

Many men, women and even toddlers were thrown there until the place was almost full of corpses. The caterpillar from that place was twitching under his feet, very much. The skull and bones were sunk by a deep sea of blood. Mixed with the smell of rotten and fishy meat, the air in the village may no longer be worth inhaling.

When Xin Chen was about to turn around, he was startled by the voice of a small child. Roaring for help, his hands scavenged for blood and flesh that was lying dormant where it was thrown away. Occasionally a heart-wrenching cry is heard.

Lang approached the source of the sound, his high blood and heaps made it seem as if he was about to drown. Xin Chen moved in the same direction, thinking it could save one person from the thousands of unfortunate humans in that banishment.

He found a little boy, about eight years old and not even able to speak properly. Crying and screaming get stronger when you see someone coming.

"Please ... Please save me ... I'm not sick. Please, sir, or anyone there ...! Get me out of here!"

That dying groan further made his heart throb pain, Xin Chen could do nothing. The little boy crawled around as much as he could to get close to him. The crying broke out, the little boy was so afraid of his own death.

Xin Chen's hand stretched out, he raised the body that only half was left. Looking at the blood-filled eyes of the little boy, his terrified cries had stopped.

"You're safe with me. Don't cry."

The voice of the little boy weakened, he vomited blood very much, tears of blood poured down his cheeks.

"Dad ... Where is it? Is he safe ...? Did you see him, sir? In-he may still be safe among the heap of it-"

Not finished the talk, the little boy vomited again.

Xin Chen couldn't do anything, he couldn't save her despite wanting so much. One of the victims of human evil must swallow the bitterness of suffering. He was breathing, the end was approaching but the little boy was trying to survive even though he did not know what was happening.

"Sir, please save me ..."

His numb body began to bring with it terrible pain.

"I-this hurts ..."

"I'll take you somewhere, you won't get sick. There is a flower garden there. You don't have to be scared anymore. You wanna go there?"

Those blood-filled eyes widened, the rest of his cries sounded. He does not answer. "Nr ...."

"But you have to endure the pain for a few seconds. I counted, yes. One, two ..."

Xin Chen looked at the innocence in those eyes, starting to hesitate to do so. He burned the body that was only left until it was that waist. Resolving the suffering of the child. In about five seconds, the body had disappeared from his hands.

Lang also could not stand the tragic situation in this village, maybe not only the little boy who experienced it.

"Make sure you don't have any disease on your hands."

The blood of the little boy in his hand had disappeared unceasingly. Xin Chen and Lang passed through the pool of blood, approaching a house that was directly connected to a cliff that was not so high.

The two stopped when they saw the natural scenery off ahead. An expanse of land with knee-length grass, some wooden houses and the rest of the spears were wasted there.

But the wild nature that was in front of them was not a beautiful sight with flowers or animals running to and fro.

But a large-scale disposal of corpses, hundreds of times more than the previous house. And among the corpses, many were found starving infected demons that were busy attacking the undead. Plus many infected type A roam there.

When he recalled that the source of the sound of flies buzzing even from a distance and the stench was centered from this place, Lang hesitated whether they had actually traveled the path.

But he saw an all-white place very different from the slums of the place, indicating that they were close to the destination.

The A-3 laboratory was the same as Luo Mei had said, surrounded by many infected. The situation was getting worse year after year, the corpses from all over the Wei Empire were dumped there.

Instead of solving the problem, it brings new diseases. Xin Chen was no wonder why so many diseases appeared after one outbreak came out. The way they dealt with this corpse alone had invited another matter.

When that drizzle came when the morning sky was still so dark. It had been the second day since their departure from the Rain Temple. That meant Xin Chen didn't have much time left.

"We're breached?" Xin Chen asked him.

"Break it out." Lang now began to prepare, the golden glint in his eyes sparkling brightly. The power of light from the wolf's body came out, he rarely wore it unless necessary. The wolf's claw extends sharply, one claw alone is able to make a human head loose. Meanwhile, Xin Chen prepared a surprise attack.

Their target was the entrance of Laboratory A-3, the door was half open. Even if there was an infection inside, at least they did not have to deal with the thousands of monstrous creatures outside the Laboratory.

The power of lightning emerged, along with the clouds of rain that had dominated the sky since night. Lightning rain began to lurk thousands of infected below.

Just as Xin Chen stepped foot, the falling Rain of Lightning shocked the infected along the way. Lang attacked the savage, killing the five Infected with just one ordinary kick. The wolf moved forward in front of Xin Chen, biting the corpse's neck and throwing it. He clawed at the others, opening the way for Xin Chen to enter.

The heart is like being driven fast when the infected type B upwards begin to target it from various sides. Laboratory doors are far from his reach. Xin Chen channeled the power of lightning followed by a blaze that began to move burning the ground around.

The Infected had been in front of them, Lang had no choice but to retreat. Xin Chen suddenly shouted, "Subject!"

Two seconds later, the blood rain fell. Lang was goosebumps when one eyeball was thrown in his face. The bodies were scattered, until they finally reached Laboratory A-3 before the other infected approached.

Xin Chen closed the door as quickly as possible, took a deep breath and tried to stabilize his heartbeat. He cleared his mind as much as he could and recovered some of the injured body parts.

It's a nightmare to be dealing with that infection. They were far more terrifying than anything Xin Chen had ever encountered. If told to face off against hundreds of thousands of soldiers of the Qing Empire or one infected Type S. He chose to face the soldiers. Infected it's unforgiving, once he's bitten it's gone. As he is now, he sometimes loses control.

When it calmed down, Xin Chen raised his face.

And just like being struck by lightning, Xin Chen could only be stunned by the state of the si in Laboratory A-3. No less bad than outside.

Now between them and the infected ocean it's limited to one glass.

Cracks crept through little by little, those dreadful faces returning to panic. Xin Chen was surrounded on both sides. Behind the door or in front of him, the infected were both pinning him down in one small room.
