The Demon Swordsman 3

The Demon Swordsman 3
Ch. 265 - Lan An's Tomb

In a large cemetery devoted to the tombs of the heroes of the Shang Empire, Xin Chen stood in front of one of the stones bearing Lan An's name with his Title as the Second Pillar. The place was protected by a stone fence that exceeded the height of an adult, there was no one there but himself.

"I'm coming, Uncle Lan. I haven't visited for so long. You're not bothering the angels in heaven, are you?" her laugh.

Before the war raged on, the man had replaced Xin Fai since his departure and claimed his life in the final mission.

To Xin Chen, Lan An was not just an uncle or a Second Imperial Pillar. Lan An was more than a friend, Master, and even like her own father. In a time when Xin Fai was busy with her work, Lan An had come to teach her or even just to exchange jokes with her. Just to comfort himself so as not to be sad when the other disciples were making fun of him.

In a time when everyone hated her, Lan An was one of the first people to be by her side. If not for that man Xin Chen would not be confident in his own strength, he would have bound himself and cursed the world that underestimated him.

If it wasn't for the man ...

A drop of tear fell on his palm, Xin Chen was bowed by sitting on his knees in front of Lan An's tomb, unable to stem the grief any longer.

Flashbacks of the memories of her drowning in the ocean, how Lan An believed so much in her, that alone had made her aware.

From the beginning, only a few people admitted it. Now that he had lost such a precious one, the regret within his chest would never disappear. Lan An was killed before his own eyes, Xin Chen could not even do anything in his last second.

Lan An's son had lost his father, and Lan An had no time to see his beloved daughter who was as beautiful as her mother.

"I promised I'd love your son the way you look after me, but ..." He clenched his hands tightly.

Pias filled his pure white face, Xin Chen shook his head slowly as if Lan An was listening in front of him.

"Sister Zhan will look after her for you, she will grow up to be a strong girl. Just like his father."

"You know, the world is not okay. Repeatedly the problem came. I even gave up on the situation... But all of a sudden you come into my memory and say I'm not going to lose that fast. Again your words saved me," he said.

"I'm grateful for all the things you gave me. No matter how small, it's precious to me." He bowed his head respectfully in front of his tomb, ten seconds long. After his father, Lan An was the second man he respected the most.

"I wanted to say a lot more, but now I have to go back. Rest in peace, next time Father and Mother will take turns visiting you."

Ye Long who had been listening in silence was also sad. Humans have a short life, it feels very short but the presence of a person can be so meaningful. At the time of the person's departure there would be so many grieving people, including the current Xin Chen.

The dragon had imagined himself without his master, his black eyes glazed over. His ears descended, moody as Xin Chen walked over to him.

"We go to the butcher, today you ate as much as I promised."

"Eat!?"

Ye Long's ears rose in unison, he spun around and almost licked the face of his master. Xin Chen let out a faint laugh, the dragon has never changed like it used to.

As they flew through the air and looked down, there was still misery that people felt. Those who were still trapped or could not be accommodated by the Cloud Protection were forced to survive in the savage jungle realm. All of this had to be stopped immediately, Xin Chen did not want more and more lives to be eroded. As they descended on the butcher shop, Ye Long instantly devoured it without asking much.

It was fortunate that the butcher had a chance to talk to Xin Chen before hitting the dragon with a frying pan. Ye Long rejoiced to the fullest, he ate beef the size of his own body. Eat raw meat mercilessly until his stomach bloated instead of playing.

"I can't imagine you feeding this dragon every day. Financially safe?" Xin Chen shrugged his shoulders.

"The unsafe neighbor's farm."

Upon his return from there Xin Chen was instantly asphyxiated. Just one meal the dragon spent hundreds of gold pieces. The amount he could use to eat for months, Xin Chen was already used to living a frugal life - one that was closer to stingy. Using that much money just to eat instantly made him dizzy.

Ye Long was very satisfied, only this time was he so full.

"Once or not at all."

Back then Ye Long was annoyed, his master was indeed very stingy and miserly to the blood of the flesh. The young man patted his head, increasingly making him dick-headed with Xin Chen's change of attitude.

Upon arrival at home as usual Ren Yuan was busy with his medicinal herbs. Lately there are so many people come to buy traditional medicine. Xin Chen came home, seeing the woman was overwhelmed he helped pick up some plants. Although it did not know everything yet Xin Chen knew some medicinal herbs and how to concoct them.

"How was your trip?"

"I'm only to Uncle Lan's grave, not so long. Especially with Ye Long who was very fast in flying."

Ye Long who was putting his head into the jug nodded. A cracking sound greeted after.

"Ah, yes, your Uncle. Father and Mother also want to visit him again, it's been a while since the last visit" he said, pouring medicine in a glass.

Ren Yuan held back Xin Chen's hand before he mixed the herbs flowers. The plant has toxins with a high level of neutralization. Ren Yuan began to teach Xin Chen the basic things about medicine and the various plants he did not know about, even to the point of directly making them.

Xin Chen knew, Ren Yuan was the greatest Medicine Expert to him. Never changed.

"This medicine, for whom?" his tanyanya pointed to the only drug that was exiled. "For Fu Hua, his condition was slowly stabilizing and his heart was starting to pump well, although it would take him some time to heal."

Not hearing any reply, Ren Yuan looked back at his smiling son towards him.

"Mom took good care of her."

"She's a good girl, Chen'er. Didn't we?"

"Of course."

Morning until afternoon passed, until Xin Zhan came home from his duties and went straight to the back. Meeting Xin Chen was busy with Ren Yuan and Feng Yong who had also just joined.

"Oh, after becoming the Pillar of Shadow have you also changed professions to become a medicine man?"

"Rather than me, Brother Zhan is much more powerful in medicine."

"certain. You're making medicine instead of healing and people die" Xin Zhan said, but it doesn't seem like her sister's taking heart. He went to the front room and took something from the package wrapped in white cloth.

Xin Zhan accepted it in surprise.

"I stopped by the weapon shop and found a sword that suits you" he explained.

In that instant Xin Zhan was stunned when he saw the reflection of the shiny light from a white and black patterned sword, there was a hanger on the handle and a carving that was so elegant.

The disbelieving Xin Zhan asked once more, "For me?"

"Who else."

Her brother smiled, embracing Xin Chen so tightly. "Good sister, next time I'll buy it for you."

"Hahaha, no need. Take good care of that sword. I've spent a lot on that."

"Well, fine, Sissy Sister."
