The Demon Swordsman 3

The Demon Swordsman 3
Ch. 212 - Against Emperor II

"We didn't find a way! All access blocked!"

Yu's cry echoed from the end of the road, The Lightning Fox spoke to Xin Chen.

"We find another way, split up better. They've got powerful people capable of protecting others."

Xin Chen thought for a moment, "I'm not sure."

"There's not much time. You yourself said they fought to the death, whether or not you would not change the mind you had instilled into them. They'll die or the enemy dies."

There was no gap to argue over the Lightning Fox, while the time was getting urgent. Xin Chen finally decided.

"We're splitting! We go North and you go West! Find the entrance and we'll meet inside the Central center!"

Without asking much Yu asserted, confident enough with himself to be able to lead the group along with Xe Chang. Although Qiu is gone.

Yu pointed deep into the central, to a tall clock tower with a large bell.

"We'll meet at the Clock Tower before tomorrow morning!"

They're heading in different directions, though, Yu and Xe Chang who were followed by hundreds of undaunted people died behind them then Xin Chen and the Thunder Fox headed for the road where infected waves spilled over filled every stretch of the road.

They went through it leaving many corpses lying on the road as well as destruction to the city facilities. There's one more road to go but they have to deal with thousands of infected outside the center. Before Xin Chen stepped there, the fox first intercepted.

In his hand he hung a piece of paper.

"You know about this?"

Xin Chen could barely read the writing but he was so familiar with the form, for a moment he immediately took out a paper making sure it was still with him or not. And in fact the paper is still kept neat. He looked at the Lightning Fox full of question marks, "Where did the teacher get that from?"

"Hu Yaongi, West Bay, 206 miles." The fox read it lightly. "this is an important clue and you missed it?"

"I intend to look for him after this is all done, including the matter with Shi Long Xu. I have to kill him first."

"What if this guide dies before you get there?"

Xin Chen had never thought of getting there, he made his point. "I think that place was the beginning of this plague. Then who is the person you mean? When I found the paper between the folds of the book, there was a corpse and a drop of blood on the paper. The owner's dead, it could've been possible."

The lightning fox does not deny nor deny. "I have a strong instinct about this, we have to find the West Bay."

"But what about the people who were with Yu and Xe Chang? They'll die if we linger."

"Then go, I'll find him."

Xin Chen was again confused, unable to let go of the team that Yu had brought and also unwilling to let the Lightning Fox go alone. He did not know what danger would come to the Fox because there were some things that his teacher did not know about the Wei Empire.

"We'll go there and come back here before morning, if so I agree." Xin Chen finally relented, if the matter of arguing with the Lightning Fox he must have lost terribly. Xin Chen began to feel disobedient, with his father he defied with his teacher to say he could not.

The fox did not turn away but a voice came from him, "Then you should prepare your legs and heart. I know where the West Bay is, make sure you don't ..."

Xin Chen did not hear the words of the Thunder Fox until the end because his teacher was already far ahead of him in a matter of one second.

Without much ado Xin Chen chased after him, the adrenaline-inducing chase became even more tense as the Lightning Fox chose the dangerous path that was above the streets. Where the infected began to chase, those on top of the building jumped. Xin Chen could not avoid one of them falling on his shoulder. Very heavy until it is almost empty. Luckily his hands quickly got rid of.

The fox was getting further ahead, he jumped among the tall buildings, without even moving much and just ran and jumped.

Two hours of unceasing pursuit Xin Chen swore in his heart, his body that was now clearly going to be exhausted and had a limit of stamina. Moreover, the speed of the Lightning Fox was far above average, offsetting its pace so as not to miss and while surviving in the sea of infection made Xin Chen start to deter. His teacher knew best how to torture him.

His legs went numb and unable to stop running, Xin Chen forced himself to stop. Breathing in a messy breath and staring at the lightning fox who was instantly looking down at him.

"Spiritual body makes you rarely exercise, now remember the feeling when your legs want to break up because of running."

"Lessons with valuable practice, Master. Didn't make the simulation die from running into an infected smash?"

"Almost." The Lightning Fox pointed to a mountain range that from a distance saw rows of ancient castles and towers lined with vines.

"I used to go there, where alchemists made strange potions that changed many things in this world. They create the cure for all diseases. This Empire was once very respected." The Lightning Fox looked disappointed as she said so, she chose not to continue.

"It looks like there we won't meet with the infected. Come with me."

**

One word that describes what he saw back then; it was incredible.

Xin Chen could hardly believe how ancient humans could create a gigantic underground room that was as large and tall as hundreds of meters.

The place was so silent with the dense air, like an old place that had been abandoned for thousands of years. The sound of footprints echoed every time it stepped on the ground. There were five huge symbols on the ground surface, made of thick steel carved animal paintings. Snake, Dragon, Fox, Bear and Phoenix.

Such a dark place limited their vision. Xin Chen intended to light one of the torches hanging on the ground wall with the Fire of Eternity.

When the fire burned the long-rotting torch, it was unexpected that it spread through a stream of charcoal connected to the wall to the floor where the five symbols were located. The statues that were circular throughout the room seemed to move, their grasped swords raised upwards. Alert, the Lightning Fox watched for a moment.

Xin Chen looked at one painting of a little boy with both red eyes and a partially cut horn. Can't be sure if it was a human or a ghost-like creature, but both eyes seemed to shine brightly. Stare sharply at him. It felt strange, but Xin Chen saw the enormous power of the little boy. It was as if he was facing his figure. Another large painting was carved with a jewel reflecting a colorful light on the wall, depicting a mountain range and a bridge. Like painting in general.

But there was an awkwardness that he could not read.

"The child is the only one left after the extinction of the Devil Nation," cursed the Fox that immediately caught Xin Chen's attention. "Devil? They're really alive?"

The fox had been living in this world for a long time, Xin Chen knew very well The fox knew more about what had happened in the past.

"But what does this have to do with the plague?"

"We'll find out later-"

Xin Chen suddenly went towards the sealed room whose door had been opened just like that. Seeing a place filled with chains, then on his desk lined with dozens of small bottles. Xin Chen crouched down, finding a bottle that was intact and could not believe what he had obtained.

"Is this really a building that's been abandoned for thousands of years?"

"Why?" Fox approaching.

"The blood in this bottle is still so fresh. It's still red, not thick or black."

"Be careful," the Lightning Fox recalled as they heard a voice echoing from the end of the hallway that was out of nowhere. Like the sound of wind from the depths.

The lightning fox immediately picked up the book lying on the table. Read quickly and find answers.

"This is the site of earlier alchemist research ... Here it is written that this blood belongs to ..." The Lightning Fox started having trouble reading that alphabet. Because the writing is connected and some faded because of the water.

"A mixture of man and devil?"

Xin Chen frowned. A violent tremor instantly dispersed the concentration of the Thunder Fox, then an impromptu earthquake occurred. It was heard from the bottom of the castle.

"He's raging,"

"The little boy in the painting?"

The Lightning Fox read the word under the paper. "sin."

Then the screams echoed, the atmosphere turned dark. "This blood is a form of sin. Outbreaks that originated in humans and were created by humans ..."

"Teacher, that's enough! We have to go!"

The Lightning Fox was still trying to comprehend line by line in the next sheet, although Xin Chen was no longer calm as one by one giant ruins began to befall the ground.

The blood belonging to the little boy became the research material of alchemists who wanted the destruction of the world. Then, the plague was born by his intervention. Creating a human who has a high body endurance and eternal, has no sense but also violent.

"Teacher, lookout!" Xin Chen burned down the huge rock that almost hit the fox. The teacher was a henchman not playing, but he had seen the way out began to close.

"And this blood is the only antidote?"

The Lightning Fox stared at Xin Chen, remembering when Xin Chen was still unawakened Fu Hua recounted the conversation people had in the New Laboratory. The syringe contains blood from the infected that can kill the virus. Only the only one among the millions infected. The Lightning Fox began to understand something.

"This plague has happened in the past, but why don't I remember this so much ...."

Xin Chen dragged her away before the building completely collapsed. They made it out alive, Xin Chen turned his body backwards. Looking at the pair of red eyes was staring at him from within such a noisy darkness.

"Who are you?"

"You have no choice but to kill them."

Xin Chen tried to get closer, he did not see any form with his eyes other than the glowing red light and slowly fading away. Next to him the lightning fox also saw the same thing, he was not hallucinating.

"The cure for this virus is just one, and it's the blood you hold in your hand."

Xin Chen stared at the glass bottle, frowning, trying to read the Lightning Fox's intent. "If that means everyone who gets bitten or becomes infected can't be saved? At all?"

"The only way you can save her is by killing them."

Xin Chen's eyes returned to the previous direction, where the pair of red radiant eyes had disappeared. The message he gave was quite frightening. The Lightning Fox explained what she knew to her disciple. There is a great history stored in that old castle.

"But just now that all the buildings were collapsing, I saw something terrible from inside the room that had collapsed."

"What's that?"

"A tomb was made to stand. Then a young man with a red sword, I thought he was the same figure as before."

"You think that young man is like the little boy I told you about?"

"I thought instead, he was the same person as the one who gave us the hint." Xin Chen looked at the castle slowly. There are many unanswered riddles.

"I just guess, there was a marriage between the demon and human race and reinforcements came. And it may bring misfortune, many people oppose it and many use it for bad."

The lightning fox continued. "The boy's blood holds a lot of terrible things. Creating a massive outbreak. That place might be the place where the plague was created and became the end of a mixed child of humans and demons."

Xin Chen was silent for a moment, "I saw thousands of skulls and bones on the ground that we were on. That man killed all the infected humans. And we've entered his funeral without permission, he must be angry."

But just after knowing a few things, Xin Chen became even more worried. If this virus spreads again and infects many humans, then more and more lives will have to be lost. While thinking about that matter, Xin Chen was stunned when he saw a hairpick with the engraving of the distinctive emblem of the Ren clan.

He knew who the item belonged to and most likely detached from the owner's hair, as if he was running from something. Xin Chen took it, gripping it firmly.

"He's a step faster than us, but at least I already know who he's conspiring with."

Xin Chen recalled the face full of deceit from the woman and did not want to forgive her. Even if considered a brother by his mother, his hand would not hesitate to take Ren Su's head.
