Cultivation Goddess
Chapters 17. Rainbow Dragon Crystals

Fang Yin jumped to the top of the tree. Its lightweight, cotton-like body allows it to stand on the buds of foliage. From the top of the tree, Fang Yin could look around as it turned out that the tree he was perching on was now the tallest tree in the forest.

"I have to thank the monkey." Fang Yin smiled as he looked around.

With his light body, Fang Yin jumped from one tree to another. Finally he found a way to get to the place of the spirit beasts faster. It didn't take long for Fang Yin to get to the place indicated by the map. Traveling through the airway also makes it safer because it does not meet many animals and difficult terrain.

After arriving at a place that matched the traits depicted on the map, Fang Yin slowly descended from the top of the tree where she was standing right now.

A moment before descending down, Fang Yin's eyes circulated his gaze around, seeing a possibility if there was any danger waiting for him.

"I have to be careful. There's no one else here. The natural energy in this forest was very concentrated, in contrast to that in the Southern Star Forest I had lived in before. It seems like I will have a hard time dealing with spirit beasts which will also absorb this great energy." Fang Yin put on a cautious attitude.

Seeing no signs of the spirit beast appearing before him, Fang Yin immediately descended from the top of the tree. He again made an energy sword to cut down the thickets around him. The height of the wild plant was almost equal to the height of Fang Yin's body.

Fang Yin walked quietly while continuing to set up his sharp vision in order to immediately find the spirit beast he was looking for. After a while of walking, he heard something strange behind a large rock. Fang Yin thought of how to see what sound it was.

In order to sense the other energies then Fang Yin also had to expend his energy first. Again the domineering Green Dragon Crystal energy made Fang Yin's body give off a greenish-colored energy aura. Simultaneously from behind the stone appeared a rainbow-colored aura with an extremely strong pressure. Fang Yin's body was pushed backwards as the rainbow's energy spread its aura.

Sensing Fang Yin's existence, the owner of the rainbow energy aura began to show his movements.

"Hopefully I can get this spirit beast. Really, his energy pressure was extremely strong. It's gonna be a little hard." Fang Yin put up the horses to welcome the yet-to-be-seen spirit beast.

Fang Yin's eyes widened when he saw the appearance of an extremely sinister deep red dragon. Highlight the dragon's eyes looked dislikeful of Fang Yin's presence. The dragon walked with a floating body approaching Fang Yin without touching the ground.

Fang Yin's body trembled receiving the pressure of the red dragon's energy. At a close distance the dragon tried to attack Fang Yin with a flame coming out of his mouth. Fang Yin jumped up to dodge while thinking of a counterattack for him.

The red dragon had the basic energy of fire. To extinguish the fire, Fang Yin needed water. In other words Fang Yin needed the energy of the Snow Cloud to fight him.

The Snow Cloud Qi was flowing in Fang Yin's palm. With that energy, Fang Yin pelted the red dragon with energy balls that had a freezing effect if it hit his opponent's body. Apparently the red dragon was quite ingenious, Fang Yin's throw was able to dodge it easily.

'Shit! The dragon was able to read my attack. I have to think of another way.' Fang Yin could not underestimate that spirit beast before him.

Besides being strong, the red dragon also looked very clever. If not mistaken, the red dragon was an upper star spirit beast. His strength was equivalent to the strength that Fang Yin possessed.

The chances for Fang Yin to obtain it were extremely small. However, Fang Yin did not give up. Here there was nothing to help him, nothing he could do but continue to fight and determine who would live and who would die.

Their balanced strength made Fang Yin have to fight hard to defeat the red dragon. Fang Yin could not rely on the Snow Cloud energy alone. The red dragon barely gave him a chance to play the moves. The dragon gave an attack blindly without giving a pause.

The huge difference in striking body made Fang Yin feel exhausted when facing the melee attack launched by the red dragon. Some parts of Fang Yin's body suffered torn wounds as a result of being scratched by the pointy and sharp tip of the red dragon's fingernails. Fang Yin's clothes look ragged because they are stuck in the nails or the tail of a hard red dragon.

The red dragon seemed to have no sense of fatigue and just continued attacking Fang Yin nonstop.

'There are many types of spirit beasts in this world. Why do I always have to deal with troublesome dragons? Is this caused by the Book of Nine Dragons that I studied?' Fang Yin staggered backwards until his body hit a large rock.

"Uhukkus! Uhukk!" Fang Yin coughed as he inhaled the smoke brought about by the hot aura of the red dragon.

'This body of the red dragon gave off an extremely hot energy. Should I take out the Gu Clan's Secret Skill to defeat him. There's no other choice. I don't want to die silly here.'

With the remnants of the power he had, Fang Yin began to open some of his meridians to drain the Golden Light Qi. In order to perform that stance, Fang Yin needed over fifty percent of the stored Golden Light Qi. This is very risky for the balance of the dantian which could have been turbulent if one of the Qi within it reached crisis level.

According to Fang Yin, it would be more dangerous for the red dragon to threaten his life than the danger of instability of Qi in his dantian. Fang Yin braced his mentality before taking out the Gu Clan's Secret Skill known as the Phoenix Hell's Rage Force.

In this fight, it is not about fire against water but fire against fire. Fang Yin's body lit up golden yellow with a heat that offset the red dragon's air. The heat of the two makes the plants wither, dry and expand without them touching.

Seeing Fang Yin rise again, the red dragon did not let him stand casually. The dragon attacked with fire coming from both of his short hands. With this stance Fang Yin had the ability to fly like a Phoenix. His body moved extremely agilely and countered every attack launched by the red dragon.

This time, things turned around. Fang Yin was able to master the fight and managed to suppress the red dragon with his attacks. The Phoenix Fury Flame was so fierce it struck the body of the red dragon several times as Fang Yin could move in all directions to take an effective attack position.

The body of the red dragon was seen writhing due to the heat of the Phoenix Fury Flame that was able to penetrate through its fire defenses.

'I must increase the power of this fire to end this fight.'

Upon seeing the red dragon begin to weaken, Fang Yin again pulled another ten percent of the Golden Light Qi from his dantian. This was a little dangerous but for the sake of defeating the red dragon, Fang Yin was forced to do so. The Qi coming out from both of Fang Yin's palms formed an enormous flame.

Fang Yin threw the fireball and then jumped up to dodge.

The red dragon that had run out of energy could not dodge anymore when Fang Yin's gigantic fire smashed into his body. The result of the fire made the plants within a hundred meters radius from where the red dragon was located become charred and die. The wriggling red dragon stretched its life with a burning body.

When the amount of Golden Light Qi was thinning, the Snow Cloud Qi pressing out made Fang Yin's body slowly decrease in temperature. Soon she had to overcome this if she did not want her body to freeze. Before that, Fang Yin had to take out the energy core belonging to the red dragon first.

With the rest of the energy he had, Fang Yin took out the Snow Cloud Qi and the Green Dragon Crystal Qi in both of his hands to pull out the energy crystal belonging to the red dragon.

A crystal with rainbow light shot out from the body of the red dragon and floated in the air along with the body of the dragon that was starting to vanish.

Fang Yin took the crystal and named it as the Rainbow Dragon Crystal.

Fang Yin's body condition worsened. His feet could no longer walk normally. Fang Yin tried to keep his consciousness until he found a place to cultivate. Several times he fell down and tried to get up and walk again with his frozen feet reaching the calves.

'Arrgggh! Do I have to cultivate among the pile of ashes?' Fang Yin hit the scorched ground where he fell for the umpteenth time.
