Initially the rebel chief wanted to commit suicide to keep a big secret about the insurgency's agenda and plans to set up his own country. However, it seemed like he had to talk to atone for his mistake.
Any punishment will be accepted. Even though he had to die after opening the secret, he would die quietly without feeling guilty to his country.
The rebel chief resigned when he was taken and tied to a pole on the porch of a building. The surviving members of his army were held in the room before him. They could only see without daring to speak or do anything.
Tian Feng advanced before the rebel chief to ask him a few things. In fact, he didn't expect much more because most traitors would rather die than open their mouths. However, he would still ask whatever the outcome was.
"Greetings, Mr. Swordsman. Sorry for daring to fight you. If I knew this was you, I wouldn't dare" the rebel chief said.
His words left Tian Feng dumbfounded. Far from his estimate of where he would say this to her. Not the fear depicted on his face but obedience.
"You know me?" tian Feng asked in a slightly astonished tone.
The rebel chief dared to look at him. If after this he had to die, at least he had seen the person who had once saved him with his family. A painful encounter for someone who became an enemy to the hero he had admired in silence.
"I know you from my mother's story. When you came to this place, I didn't know anything. But I'm so grateful that you saved us all. Regarding the crimes that I have committed, you need not worry. I'm not saying this to ask to be commuted from punishment. Everything I do is wrong, I'm ready to give up my life atone for it." The rebel chief spoke with great confidence.
Tian Feng had still not relaxed his vigilance. As a leader of the army he could have been deceived by the rebel chief. In a war there is nothing we can trust but ourselves.
"I can forgive you or not forgive you, it all depends on how you make me believe and feel satisfied. I'll ask you a few questions. Your answer will determine your fate." Tian Feng spoke seriously to the rebel chief.
"Please you ask, I will answer with all honesty" said the rebel chief with confidence.
Tian Feng nodded despite not knowing what he said was true but he wanted real proof of the rebel chief. His doubts were not without reason because until now the man had not mentioned his name. Indirectly he did not want to be known his identity by anyone.
"Do you just want to steal food or want to control this region?" The light question from Tian Feng was enough to make the rebel head feel tense.
"Zhen Yumao, beg for mercy on the Thousand Eyes Swordsman Master. All this time I was only ruled by someone who supported us from behind. Robberies and the seizure of foodstuffs are our first steps to gain the sympathy of the hungry-stricken community. They didn't know if the food we were giving came from the central government we were depriving. Once they feel indebted we will influence them to support us fully to form a new government." Zhen Yumao leaked the agenda of his group.
The entire question from Tian Feng was answered smoothly by Zhen Yumao. He had so much information that he really knew the enemy and the power he had and who were the people standing behind him. Seeing Zhen Yumao's earnestness, he decided to cooperate with him and arrest everyone involved in the rebellion.
The help from Zhen Yumao would be very useful and could make him overcome this problem quickly.
"I'll forgive you but I want proof. For now I will heal your wounds. But don't be happy just yet because I'll also give you poison. Without the antidote from me you won't survive more than 7 days. That's the time I gave you to decide you deserve to live or die. After this we must move quickly to exterminate the rebels to their roots" Tian Feng said.
"I will always be on your side, Master," Zhen Yumao replied filled with confidence.
"I'm sorry I don't trust you but you have to join the survivors first." Tian Feng asked one of the squad members guarding the front of the captive room to open the door for Zhen Yumao.
Zhen Yumao agreed. Inside the captive room he apologized to the western border citizens who had joined him. After finding out if Tian Feng was one of the members of the government of the Eastern Continent, he then straightened out all the problems he had created.
All the stories about the ugliness of the Eastern Continent government are not true. Zhen Yumao said he was only ruled by someone who wanted to make the western border region part of the country he would form. He also explained that the food that had been given to the western border community was food sent by the Eastern Continent Imperial government for this region.
The western border residents were shocked by this. They regret this fooling but all have already made mistakes. Seeing Zhen Yumao's honesty they didn't want to prolong this matter anymore and agreed to fix it.
The wound on Zhen Yumao's body had indeed healed from having been treated by Tian Feng but he couldn't survive for more than 7 days due to the poison planted in his body. For that he hoped to end his suffering immediately by attacking as soon as possible the main headquarters. However, he had to wait for the order from Tian Feng as its leader right now.
Elsewhere, Tian Feng was discussing with the ruler of the western border region for a plan of assault to the center of the rebellion. They carefully set up the assault strategy before leaving for the location. Tian Feng was planning to make Zhen Yumao and his army as bait.
Zhen Yumao's forces will carry a carriage commonly used to transport foodstuffs. Inside the carriage would not be filled with foodstuffs but rather the troops from Tian Feng. Once in the opponent's lair, they would come out and attack the rebel forces while more troops would surround them on the outside.
Their discussions did not last long as they were about to strike into the center of the uprising today as well. Qing Yu herself did not know who was masterminding the rebellion. However, he had a premonition if there was an insider involved.
