Chapters 18. Graduation Day

Fang Yin crept up to head to a large rock that was under a tree. His feet had frozen to the top of his calf. Fang Yin's visibly grimacing face endured the pain as he rested with his hands creeping rapidly to reach his destination before the clot in his leg reached the knee. If that happens then he will have trouble folding his legs to cross-legged.

Finally Fang Yin reached the place he was heading to. His appearance looks very sad. His clothes that were torn apart were so dirty exposed to the ashes and charcoal remnants of his battle with the red dragon. Several parts of his body were injured by the claw and tail of the dragon.

'I must not feel weak with these wounds. I must stay alive and avenge me!'

Fang Yin folded his legs with the help of both of his hands. His body temperature was so cold that it made it difficult to breathe. After sitting properly, Fang Yin swallowed an energy-binding pill before starting her meditation. Fang Yin also took out the Rainbow Dragon Crystal he had just obtained and absorbed some of the energy stored within.

The clot in his leg had now reached his knee and continued to creep rapidly. Fang Yin immediately closed his eyes and did some breathing to start cultivating. Slowly he entered into his subconscious and began to feel the meridian points in his body opening up then preparing to receive the natural Qi swirling around him.

The Rainbow Dragon Crystal which was the soul energy core belonging to the red dragon, emitted a rainbow-like colorful light when it came into contact with the natural energy that enveloped Fang Yin's body. The energy from the crystal fused with the Qi of nature and formed a rainbow wave that resembled a sphere that wrapped around Fang Yin's body.

The more natural Qi gathered then the ball became bigger and continued to move around like a slender.

The air around Fang Yin who was originally calm now moved along with the energy rounds that enveloped Fang Yin's body to make the ashes and remnants of Fang Yin's fight fly into the sky and scatter following the direction of the wind flew it.

After all the Qi fused perfectly, the energy ball was sucked in by Fang Yin's body which made his body seem to be enveloped by an extremely hot flame.

"Armghhh!" fang Yin's shout split the silence of the forest as she felt an extremely intense heat in her body.

The surface of his body was burning red enveloped by the blazing flames. Whatever was attached to his body burned up to make him plain undressed. His frozen legs had now recovered as before, as well as his wounds that instantly disappeared without a trace.

It took a while for Fang Yin to be able to accept that overwhelming power and align with his body.

After a moment of feeling that energy was like a foreign object breaking through and slashing through his body, Fang Yin finally began to be able to control himself and master the power that belonged to the red dragon.

His body temperature returned to normal along with the loss of the flames that enveloped his body.

Fang Yin felt extremely embarrassed when he opened his eyes and found himself wearing nothing. Soon she took the new hanfu and veil from inside her storage ring and immediately put on it. His body felt very light and stronger than before. At least he rose one level after absorbing the energy stored within the Rainbow Dragon Crystal.

After he finished cultivating, Fang Yin immediately stored the crystal and some of his belongings scattered among the burnt remains of his hanfu.

'I felt an incredible power in my body. It seems like I am back up one level, ' muttered Fang Yin while smiling happily.

He had to get out of the Forest of Prophecy before night fell. No one should know if he had reached the five-star celestial realm. Before exiting the forest, Fang Yin swallowed a pill to suppress his energy until he was seen still at the earth realm.

It was seen that the Academy Council was still waiting for him at the border. They would take turns to welcome Fang Yin's arrival there for three days. If Fang Yin did not return within three days, then the Academy Council would declare that Fang Yin had died.

Just this time the academy elder sent his disciple off alone to search for spirit beasts. Usually they go in groups to hunt spirit beasts and are carried out several times until all members get their own spirit crystals. The elder will be waiting for them at the border to help immediately if anyone is injured like this right now.

They looked at Fang Yin's body from top to toe. The two elders were back in shock when they found that Fang Yin's body had no injuries at all. Only Fang Yin's clothes and veil turned into silver.

Without much further ado Elder Song immediately asked the spirit crystal he had obtained and still thought that Fang Yin had returned empty-handed.

Fang Yin opened his palm and revealed the shadow of the spirit crystal he had obtained. He deliberately did not show the real crystal out of fear that the crafty elder would find out if he managed to defeat a top-tier spirit beast. They would definitely make his life difficult if they found out.

"Have you absorbed the energy from that crystal?" ask Elder Song.

"Right, Elder," Fang Yin replied trying to lie.

"Good then." Instead of being happy, Elder Song's reaction seemed the opposite.

Elder An recognized the energy aura in Fang Yin's body that had a base core of red flames. That energy belonged to the legendary spirit beast of the red dragon which was a top-tier spirit beast. However, for the sake of Fang Yin's safety, Elder An tried to cover it up from Elder Song.

The three of them returned to the academy and were greeted by the entire citizens of the academy. Everything was haunting Fang Yin who was the first female genius to ever study in that academy. Fang Yin did not like praise, his great ambition made what he achieved right now for him just a small thing. The steps he had to take were still long and his path to becoming strong was still very far away, Fang Yin should not be satisfied just because of a success.

As promised earlier by the Elder Song Academy's Chairman, if Fang Yin had obtained his spirit crystal then he would have already been declared a graduate of that academy. She was the shortest graduating student and also the first female genius student in the academy.

The next day all the elders and disciples of the academy performed a release ceremony for him. Elder An gave him a gift of a sword that had five-star energy that he gave before the release ceremony began secretly. Elder An also advised Fang Yin to be careful after coming out of the academy and asked him to immediately store the sword before anyone saw it.

"I didn't go to die." That was what Fang Yin said as his companions wept over his departure.

For Fang Yin to leave the academy it was a freedom that he had been waiting for a long time. Being there longer will only hinder his training. His scale was so light as to leave the academy that he was unaware of the danger that lay in him.

'You think I'll let you out of here alive, little devil! It won't! You must die, Xiao Yin!' Elder Song smiled obliquely while looking at his departure.

Elder An observed the change in attitude of Elder Song.

'May you be able to overcome your problems and leave safely, Xiao Yin!' Elder An left Elder Song and the others.

He knew the nature of Elder Song who disliked there being female geniuses within the cultivation world. For him it would be a disgrace to the men and threaten their position. Elder Song's worries were completely unreasonable. Female cultivators were only one in a hundred with male cultivators. Most female cultivators chose to be a companion instead of deepening their knowledge.

When Fang Yin had reached the border of the small rural area where the academy was standing, something suspicious began to happen. He felt that there were steps following him even though Fang Yin did not feel their energy and saw any shadows. After absorbing the energy belonging to the red dragon, the sensitivity of his ears increased. A gentle movement of the wind alone was capable of him feeling, let alone the step of one's shadow.

Fang Yin remained vigilant. Right now he had come out of the village and was on a road on the edge of the Dark Forest to head to another village. The invisible person's footsteps grew clearer when Fang Yin was already in a desolate place.

Apparently Elder Song hired three assassins to kill him. The three hitmen were in the upper star celestial realm which meant that it had strength several levels above Fang Yin. They confronted Fang Yin on a deserted road.

"Who are you?" fang Yin asked as she looked at the three unknown people blocking her path.

"You don't need to know who we are, all you have to know is that you have to die at our hands! Ahaha!" one of the men laughed horribly.

"I don't have a problem with you guys. We don't even know each other. Why do you want to kill me?" Fang Yin was cautious.

"There's no reason to kill someone. As long as there's money, anything we can do!" yell that guy again.

"Oh, so you guys are hit men. What a lowly job!" fang Yin sneered while taking out the sword that Elder An had given.

The assassins faintly looked at the sword in Fang Yin's hand. Five-star swords could only be played by cultivators who were in the sky realm. Whereas according to the information provided by Elder Song, the person they had to kill was a genius who was still at the earth realm.

'What?! This little girl was also in the sky realm. Looks like it's gonna be a little difficult. But I can't fail. He was alone and the three of us. I'm pretty sure the three of us can kill him!' muttered one of those hit men.

Fang Yin poured his Qi energy into his sword and made the sword shine brightly.

The victory of a cultivator was not only determined by their high level but also their skill of playing certain moves and how cleverly they took chances when their opponents were off guard.

Not wanting to waste any time, the three hitmen attacked Fang Yin simultaneously. Fang Yin's petite body was so agile as to move to conduct attacks and dodge at the same time. But it was undeniable that Fang Yin also felt a little overwhelmed against the person who was gnawing at him.

Luck doesn't seem to side with the hit man. The sabetan sword Fang Yin had managed to cripple one of them. The two remaining people felt unwelcome and expended all of their abilities to deal with Fang Yin.

The extremely fast movements of the two of them overwhelmed Fang Yin. He was almost hit by their sword. It was fortunate that only the tip of his sword had scratched Fang Yin's arm.

Fang Yin felt it was impossible to defeat them considering he had already sustained injuries in some parts of his body. When the two enemies were caught off guard, Fang Yin used the Phoenix Dancing Skirt to create an enormous fire that covered the sight of both of them.

As they moved backwards to dodge the flames, Fang Yin used the opportunity to run into the Dark Forest.
