The scent grew stronger as he reached beside a shelf containing dried ginseng.
'Freaky. Ginseng has a different aroma than most ginseng. When viewed in passing the shape seems the same. But why does it smell different, huh?' Fang Yin touched and took it.
"It's a golden deer ginseng. A rare ginseng that was sought after by alchemists from various places," explained the Yuan Clan Elder.
Fang Yin remembered the plant and its usefulness. Looks like he's heard it.
"Do the elders know about this ginseng and its uses?" Fang Yin tried to save time and effort to remember him.
The elder of the Yuan Clan immediately shook his head as he indeed really did not know about it.
Fang Yin understood because these villagers were indeed few and did not seem to know about alchemy and the science of medicine. Otherwise, perhaps they had already harnessed this natural wealth into something more valuable in pill form.
Their conversation came to a halt when a villager summoned the Yuan Clan Elder and informed the state of Shangyi the wolf boy and his parents.
The Yuan Clan Elder immediately ran out followed by Fang Yin who also felt curious about the state of the child.
When they got there, Fang Yin found Shangyi was being shut down and not moving at all. She thought this was a very strange thing, when she left him last night, he and his family were in a good state.
The two old men of Shangyi cried and did not know what to do. They only shake when someone asks what happened.
The elders of the Yuan Clan, the Yu Clan, and the Hao Clan stared towards Fang Yin. And so does everyone who is there. They think that he is the cause of everything that happens.
The villagers were very layman with things related to cultivation and treatment with Qi.
Not wanting the misunderstanding between them to get bigger, Fang Yin ventured to see the state of the child again.
"Chairman, allow me to check the situation!" said Fang Yin saluting the three elders standing before him.
"God! What are you doing with that kid? Even though he's a beast, you shouldn't have killed him!" exclaimed one of the villagers who felt that Fang Yin had made a mistake.
"I was just helping him. If he is not immediately conquered maybe this village has been destroyed since last night," Fang Yin said in a slightly raised tone. He did not like the man's words.
The elder of the Yu Clan came over to Fang Yin when he saw the flash of fury in his eyes.
"Please don't take heart, Master Xu! Please check on Shangyi." Elder Yu approached Fang Yin then gave way to her for her to advance forward.
Not wanting to prolong the matter, Fang Yin followed Elder Yu. His eyes glanced at the man who accused him earlier then continued his steps towards Shangyi.
"Can you stay a little bit away?" fang Yin said to the two Shangyi elders sitting next to her.
They nodded then moved backwards.
Shangyi's hands and feet were cold. His skin color was pale bluish with a hint of foam in his mouth. Without an outside cause, it would be impossible for Shangyi to be like that.
Fang Yin opened Shangyi's eyelids and saw it clearly. Then he opened Shangyi's mouth and checked her pulse.
Deftly Fang Yin undid the child's shirt and gave him a poison-treating pill. After his upper clothes opened, Fang Yin immediately took out an acupuncture needle and stuck it in Shangyi's body.
Everyone who was there was wide-eyed and covered his mouth in horror seeing Shangyi's body filled with needles. However they did not dare to comment anything as the elders had given Fang Yin permission to treat the child.
The treatment Qi released by Fang Yin made Shangyi's body react immediately. From his body was a dark aura that evaporated through the pores of his skin.
"Retreat! And close your noses! Let no one breathe this poison!" fang Yin exclaimed asking everyone who was there to stay away.
Both Fang Yin's hands worked simultaneously. In the moment his right hand released the Qi of treatment, his left hand drained black flames to burn the poison that came out from Shangyi's body.
Slowly but surely, the poison that had settled into Shangyi's body was successfully expelled by Fang Yin.
Everyone in the room approached the two when they saw that Fang Yin had finished and tidied up his tools.
"Master Xu, what happened to Shangyi?" elder Yuan asked curiously.
Fang Yin stared at the two old men Shangyi was still sobbing.
"There's someone who has deliberately poisoned this child," Fang Yin said as he stared intently at Shangyi's parents.
The elders followed the direction of Fang Yin's gaze and understood that Fang Yin was suspecting the two.
"Shi Han, Ah Yi! Can you explain all this?" ask the Yuan Clan Elder who is the leader of that family.
The elder of the Yuan Clan looked at old man Shangyi in turn. His authority made the couple become reluctant and submit to him.
Finally, Shi Han and Ah Yi admitted that Shangyi was not their real child. They lost their baby while searching for a spiritual plant outside the village. After last night they realize that it is likely that their baby was eaten or killed by Shangyi in the past.
The real Sangyi had realized not opening his eyes immediately as he wanted to listen to Ah Yi and Shi Han's story to the end. He felt very sad when he knew the fact that he was not the biological child of Shi Han and Ah Yi.
Everyone seemed to be silently thinking of finding a solution in this matter. Shi Han felt extremely embarrassed when he realized that the child who was raised with affection was not human.
In the middle of the story, Shangyi could no longer hold himself back from remaining silent any longer. He got up and sat staring at his parents.
They fell silent as they saw Shangyi had regained their senses and looked at them with teary eyes.
Everyone who was there seemed to be mute. Mixed feelings raged in their hearts.
Fang Yin sat beside Shangyi and asked, "Are you okay? What do you feel right now?"
Fang Yin's gentle speech was able to touch his heart. But all that was not enough to quell his anger.
