Isekai No Gakusei: Students From Another World
The Closing Story of the Land of Fire

Step... The sound of voluptuous footsteps rang out quite loudly in the deserted passageway. Darren floated his gaze into the empty hallway in front of him. His eyes twitched a little while irritated that he had just remembered something.

"Michael.. Where is he?" His grunts while clenching his hands tightly. "The priest said he was going to leave Michael's body. He should have left today."

Darren took a deep breath. He stretched his body and tried to regulate his breathing.

"Huff, you need to calm down Darren" he told himself. "Don't rush. Someday, that opportunity will come by itself. If it's fate you want, then you don't have to worry."

As he tried to calm himself down, suddenly a figure appeared from behind Darren and touched his shoulder.

"Pawn!" Clara threw her fingers strongly. Plaakk!

Darren was surprised, but only for a moment. He then turned around and saw Clara whose face was smiling broadly at Darren's expression.

"Ha ha, your face is so funny!" Shouted Clara while laughing incoherently.

"If you want to ngagetin don't hit it. Your energy is so strong you know!" Darren protests while massaging his own shoulders. "Basic. Did you forget that you're the Demon King?"

Clara canengar-cengar apologized. "Yes yes. I'm sorry, I won't repeat." But his expression said he would repeat it again.

Darren sighed. He immediately hid his lesion face and put on his usual face.

They began to walk together in the middle of the quiet hallway. Because of their loneliness, their footsteps can sound quite loud. Occasionally they deliberately align their steps to form a pitched rhythm.

"By the way, where are you going?" Ask Clara.

Darren. "I was just about to meet Shiro and Tora. I told them to pack the things, '" he replied. "Where are you going yourself?"

Clara replied, "I'm from the meeting room. Dyland met with the state councils. It seems they are talking about cooperation between countries."

"really? Then how's the situation?"

Clara shook her head with a small smile, while her hands were waved into the air. Just looking at it Darren already knew how the situation was.

"Younaw. The council rejected exactly Dyland's proposal" Clara said.

"so yeah. No wonder anyway. Remember what happened before."

"But..." Clara connecting. "You're really good, Darren-kun."

"What does that mean?"

"The council immediately approved Dyland's proposal after hearing your name."

"Well, how can it be?" Darren was a little surprised as well as astonished.

Clara smirked a little. "If the adventurers hadn't spread your reputation as a human criminal, maybe this cooperation wouldn't have happened" Clara said. "The council has heard of your history with Europe and also about the incident of the animal man's village. To them, you are quite an interesting human being to work with."

"W-really?" Darren scratched his head.

"Yes. When Dyland mentioned your name, the faces of the councils instantly changed. You should have been there. They would definitely be even more astonished, ha ha!"

Darren just laughed a little. But he never expected that the news about him could be spread widely through the adventurers. This is not really good news, nor bad. It is more like a double-edged sword.

It's good that news of him is spread. He could make contact with demons easier. However, it would be different if this news reached the wrong person. Like the Dark Demon King.

Unwittingly, Darren and Clara walked for quite a while. They walked all the way until they finally arrived on the second floor through the stairs. They both stopped on a balcony with a view of the Pulvis forest in front of them.

Seen from far away, lush trees swayed in the wind as if dancing gully. The daytime wind today feels very cool even though the weather temperature is actually quite hot.

Darren was stunned by the sight. His gaze was stunned for a moment, until suddenly something flashed through his mind. There's something he wants to ask Clara.

"Clara-san," Darren said. Clara also looked.

"Huh, what's up?"

Darren continued. "I want to ask you one thing" Darren said. "Are you and the other True Demon Lords still in contact?"

A long pause passed between the two of them, before Clara finally answered Darren's question with a smile.

"Unfortunately not" answered Clara. "It's been a long time since we last met. A lot of big things happened. Don't want us to split up."

"Huge thing? Like a massive manhunt by the Holy Church?"

"That's just one of them" Clara said, leaning her body against the balcony railing. "I don't think it matters if I say this. We used to be the right hands of the gods."

Darren furrowed his brows. Did he not hear wrong?

"Wait a minute, I didn't hear you wrong, did I?" Darren. "Aren't you the enemy of the gods?"

"That's what they believe. But what's ahead is sometimes not the same as the content" Clara said. "We used to fight for the gods. Until one day, it came."

"Him?"

Clara nagging. "Demon King of darkness" he said. He then explained the knowledge he had. "In ancient times, there were seven gods. Every god represents every element in this world. Ice, fire, wind, water, earth, lightning and lastly light."

Clara continued her explanation. "Every god has subordinates that correspond to the elements they hold. For example, I used to serve the Fire God."

"Then, what happened?" Darren's getting curious.

"Side everything changed. The moment the God of Light found a suitable subordinate for him. But due to the fact that the light element can only flow in a human body, then the Demon King serving him mastered the unique element."

"Unique elements? Don't you mean..."

"Element of darkness" continued Clara. "Elements that are inversely proportional to Light Elements. The two elements are the formation of the saying: Where there is light, there is shadow."

Clara turned her face to the blue sky, as she continued. He said, "Really, the first time I saw him. How great is that power. He was once just an ordinary demon. Although he looked like a good-natured demon, he kept something big in his heart. And now, his heart came out. Wreak havoc on the world."

"That's great, huh?"

"Even because of it, we True Demon Lords have to split up. We're forbidden from seeing each other or he'll intervene."

"Then, what happened to the other Demon Lords?" Ask Darren.

"Some of my friends chose to renounce their identities. Deepen life as mortal beings and hide avoiding the threat of the Holy Church. Some others may choose their own way of life" Clara replied. "Even someone shuts himself in the ice. Oh my goodness."

"Tomatsu, right?" Darren.

"Eh, you know him?" Clara did not expect it.

Darren nodded. "I met him in the Erfroren mountains. It was I who released him from that ice prison."

"Ehh, I didn't expect you to let go, instead" Clara said with a small smile. "If I may, can I have a greeting? If only you had met her."

Darren replied with a small laugh. "of course. I can't wait to see her reaction."

They enjoyed the cold view again. The sun grew brighter, and the clouds began to disappear from the Avon sky.

"Look at the ceiling" Clara said, pointing up.

The gazes of the two of them were instantly fixed onto the same sky, the sky above their heads. So blue and bright without clouds covering. There was only the sun whose light struck both of their eyes.

Clara continued her sentence. "I once wondered to myself. Is there still a sky above the sky?" Her speech. "So did I wonder, are there still other beings who are above the gods?"

Darren shifted his gaze from the sky and glanced at Clara's serious-looking face.

"You think to yourself?" Darren Sahut.

"We'll never know. Besides, I don't have time to think about it. There is still more important business" Clara said. "Like, protect you from him."

"Darren-kun, I can only warn you once more" Clara said. "Your dream is impossible. There was no way that peace could exist in this chaotic world. But, I won't prevent you from chasing him."

Darren smiles. "That means you're not going to fight me, is it?"

"For the moment no" replied Clara. "Please promise me. As long as you try to realize your nap dream, do not get caught by Him. If it happens, then I'll find and kill you right away."

Darren looked down a little. "alright. I wouldn't take that as a threat. But I promise I won't get caught."

"It's good that you understand. And one more," Clara said. "I'll leave this kingdom while carrying Good."

"Really?"

"Yes. I don't want to risk staying here anymore. One of the Demon King's subordinates has seen you and Good in this kingdom. So he'll probably be here soon, sooner or later."

"Demon King's subordinate? Who do you mean?"

"Hioni, the Ogre of the Dark Demon King's right hand."

Darren knew that name immediately. Indeed, from a long time ago he was very curious about the mysterious ogre. But after Clara said it, it was now beginning to become clear who she was.

"That red ogre?" Darren.

"It seems you've met him yes" replied Clara. "No wonder. He must have put an eye on you for a long time."

"But he's helped me before."

"Don't be fooled by his kind nature. He must have done that to frame you."

Darren pondered for a moment. Maybe what Clara said was right, but she herself felt that it was wrong. The Ogre had helped him twice without showing the slightest sign of cunning.

He always radiates a mysterious air in his every presence. But Darren never took it as a serious threat.

"What's he been doing all this time is just some kind of trick to trap me?" Inner Darren. "If yes. He should have caught me a long time ago."

"Then, where are you going?" Darren changed the topic.

"In the middle of nowhere. A place where no one will find us."

Darren nodded. "If it's your decision, I have no reason to oppose it. At least, promise me you'll take good care of me. He is a precious person to me."

"He'll be safe with me. And you better watch yourself. Don't let your guard down and get into his trap."

Darren sighed. There was actually one more question he wanted to ask Clara.

"Actually the Demon King has a name?" Darren. "From that day you called her 'She' just."

Clara was silent for a moment, then replied. "Maybe it's okay if I tell you," he said. "His name.is-"

Suddenly the atmosphere between them became quiet. Clara fell silent for no apparent reason and her face gawked expressionlessly. Darren looked at him in surprise while slightly frightened.

"C-Clara-san?"

Clara raised her hand and began to aggressively brush her red hair. His face was sweaty and his face panicked.

"W-Why? Why did I forget?" Said Clara in a hollow tone. "I should have remembered. His name is-"

Seeing Clara's sudden condition, Darren immediately remembered that a similar incident had also occurred before. Just like the Tomatsu conditions at that time.

"Clara-san, relax. You don't have to say it" Darren tried to calm Clara down.

"Why is this so? I think the memory is myopic. I know the name's in my head, but I can't find it."

"Calm down. Don't force yourself. Breathe in slowly."

Clara set her breath. He regained his composure even though his face said he was still disturbed by this.

"Sorry, Darren-kun. I can't believe that our agreement of thousands of years ago is still valid today" Clara said, wiping sweat off her forehead. "Therefore, we Demon Lords are forbidden to mention his name."

"Yes, I get it. Tomatsu is also experiencing the same thing."

Darren watched Clara with a question in his mind. "What kind of agreement is there between them? Even to the extent of restraining the Demon Lords to say his name."

Darren feels that this question might help him find his ultimate goal, which is to seek the truth of the world. But as long as it can't be answered, it won't mean anything but confusing questions.

"Shiro-sama, here it is settled," Tora closed her bag and turned towards Shiro.

"alright. Just put the bag on the chair, "Reply Shiro as he arranges his belongings. "I still have to compile some of Darren-sama's belongings."

"Need help?"

"no need. Just a little."

Tora gave up and just silently looked at him. He sat on the floor glancing at Shiro's pale eyes. Eyes full of pent-up feelings and want to immediately vanish them.

Shiro's face also looked gloomy. His hands did work well putting things in his bag, but his mind was clearly elsewhere.

"Shiro-sama?" Tora tried to call him. But as he expected, Shiro continued to work regardless of the surroundings. His mind was really floating around.

"Shiro-sama," This time Tora approached him and held onto his shoulder. This time Shiro responded. With a surprised face like waking up.

"E-yeh, Tora-kun? What's up?" Shiro replied in a wide tone.

Tora sighed. He was worried about his master's condition which had made him anxious.

"Shiro-sama, you still think about it huh?"

Shiro was silent for a moment. Then a small smile flashed across his face.

"Yes, I kept thinking," he replied in an anxious tone. "I never thought that Darren-sama came from another world. A world different from ours."

Tora let go of her hand. "So you think about that, yes" Tora said. "I was also quite surprised. I never expected it this long."

"How does it feel?" Connect Shiro. "It must leave the family because it was sent to another world, which is not even clear why."

"It must be heavy, yes" said Tora.

"Then from that..." Shiro. "I don't want Darren-sama to experience something similar again. I want to be his family here. A place for joy and sorrow. And be a place to go home."

A sincere smile flashed across Shiro's face. He understands exactly what he says. Making Tora could only be stunned to see him.

Tora smiled as well. He lowered his face and involuntarily tears had been dripping down his cheeks.

"Eh, am I crying?" The mind in the heart.

Shiro glanced at him and saw a speck of tears clumping at the end of his chin.

"Tora-kun?" Call her. "You all right?"

"Heh, it seems like your words reminded me of my mother" Tora said. "I feel like I can feel what Darren-sama is feeling. To be taken by someone forcibly from your family's embrace. I've experienced it too."

"Tora-kun's..."

Tora wiped her eyes. "But this is not something worth crying about" he said. "After all, now I have a new family."

Tora got up, took all the stuff, and put it in the bag. Shiro just silently looked at her, until Tora turned around and smiled.

"Shiro-sama, don't worry. I'll help you be a good family to Darren-sama."

The sun began to move to the western horizon. The sky began to blush with a slight flick of mixed blue. The clouds were swept away to cover some of the sunlight.

Darren and his two friends were standing at the door of the castle. In front of him, Dyland and Hain were in attendance. While Dyland stood up while stomping his feet rhythmically, like he was waiting for someone.

"It's been a long time" Dyland said.

"What's wrong?" Ask Darren.

"It's a little difficult" Dyland replied. "During the meeting, the council requested that Bagus be put to death. But Clara asked me not to. So I tried to smuggle him out without being caught by the elders."

"Then where is Clara-san?"

Dyland again stomped his feet. He continued, "He's the one in charge of smuggling Good out. But I've been so worried for so long."

Shortly after, a bush moved. From behind the bush came a red-haired man.

"Sorry old," said Clara as she dragged Bagus from behind a thicket.

Dyland took a long breath. He looks relieved. "What took you so long?"

"Yes sorry anyway. There were a lot of guards patrolling. I have no other choice."

Dyland's face paled slightly. "Hey, you didn't kill them, did you?"

"Ha ha, of course not. I just paralyzed some of them."

"Good."

"By breaking their legs and making sure they can't talk anymore" Clara said.

"Hey, you're not serious, are you!?"

"Ha ha, just kidding," Clara laughed out loud. "Look at your panicked face. It's a rare sight to be able to see His Majesty Dyland in fear."

"Not much to joke about" Dyland hit Clara's head.

"Yes, geez."

Darren walked up to them. He approached Bagus and helped him clean up because it turned out that he had been dragged by Clara.

"Darren," said Good as soon as he saw her.

Darren grinned it with a brief smile.

"So you're gonna take him away?" Dyland asked Clara.

"Yes, there is no other choice" Clara said. "The existence of an Outlander somewhere will only bring destruction to that place. You don't want this country to be destroyed, do you?"

"You really went straight to the worst point, yes," Dyland responded while folding a hand.

"Yes out, the Dark Demon King will stop at nothing to hunt the Outlanders. If it's good to stay here, then he'll definitely come. And his arrival will only bring sorrow."

"I've heard enough."

Nicely standing up while sweeping the back of his pants with his hands. "I'm really confused right now" he said. "Everything happened very quickly. Clara is a True Demon King. Dyland is King. And Darren came from another world, just like me. What the fuck is this madness?"

"The world is always crazy, Bagus-kun. So be proud," replied Clara. "But take it easy. Even if I'm the Demon King, I won't kill you. I'm not the same as the Dark Demon King."

"Yes. Said the man who almost killed us both yesterday" Sahut Darren.

Plakk! "That has passed let it pass, Darren-kun," Clara patted Darren on the shoulder with a grin.

"Where are you taking me anyway?" Ask Clara Well. "And so, isn't Darren coming?"

"Darren is not coming. But I've set up a great location for both of us" Sahut Clara.

"Why are you saying it like we're going on a picnic?"

Good to turn his face. He looks worried. Well how not, he must be very frightened at the moment.

"Don't worry, Good," Dyland said. "Clara was a bit stupid, but she was a Demon King. His strength will cover his stupidity."

"Y-Yeah..." Reply Good slowly.

"Ish, sister. You are insensitive" Clara said. "Because I was strong and stupid, he was afraid that I would accidentally kill him."

"T-No. I'm just in doubt, "Continue Good. "Can I go back? Back to where I came from."

They're speechless. But suddenly Hain came forward to find him.

"Don't be pessimistic!" He said, as Bagus turned his head towards him. "You can definitely go home. There's gotta be a way."

"Others..."

"I can't guarantee it, but there must be a way. If it can come then it can definitely go."

Darren approached them both. "Hain may be right, we should not be pessimistic. But to be honest, I think differently" Darren said. "Technically, me and Good have died in the world there. I got hit by a train, while Good died in a tsunami. If we can go back, how will it go?"

Hain gritted his teeth.

"But, there's another possibility," Good suddenly cut. "Looks like I have something to tell you, Darren."

"Eh, what is it?"

It shows the clothes he wears. A slightly shabby shirt with a few small incisions in several locations. Although the shirt is clean, but the traces of stitches that are a lot of stick can immediately tell the history of the clothing.

"Do you think the clothes I wear are made in this world?" Say Good while pulling the bottom of his shirt forward.

Darren looked at him carefully. "Seems not?"

"Absolutely. So too with you. You couldn't have been sent here without clothes, could you?"

Darren's eyes immediately opened wide as if he realized something. While Good continued his words.

"And one more. When I was sent, it wasn't just my clothes that got carried away. Except my plastic groceries are also carried away."

"Ah, I understand now," said Darren as he stroked his chin. "So you mean, we're not necessarily dead, are we?"

Good nods. "Just a possibility."

"I'm actually quite curious about that. Plus, the time of our arrival is very unreasonable. You came from 2004, much longer than my original time. But I arrived earlier than you."

"How long have you been here?"

"Maybe three months more. It's not far, but technically I'm ahead. This raises a new question" Darren explained. "What is the concept of our arrival? And also, what kind of concept of time is applicable in our summoning here?"

"Clara, do you know anything?" Darren asked, looking at Clara.

Clara. "If I am a True Demon King, but I know nothing about what you guys are talking about. I thought your arrival was just a simple coincidence."

Darren snorted, "Huff, there's no hope in asking Clara."

"Why is it my fault!?"

Their conversation lasted a long time. At least until the sun starts to sink.

The afternoon atmosphere in the avon city felt very warm. In addition to the dark orange sky, the sun also seemed to emit warm light for the last time before the night.

"So, we're parting now, yes" Clara said as she stared at the dim light of the sun.

"Yes. But don't worry, we'll definitely meet again" said Darren.

"Then, where are you going, Darren-kun?"

Darren glanced towards Shiro and Tora who were standing behind him.

"I want to take my two colleagues somewhere" he said.

Shiro and Tora were just quietly curious. What place will they go to later.

"Darren," Hain suddenly called out to him. "Let me come with you."

"Eh? Why?" Darren Sahut.

"I also want to solve this mystery. I want it to be good to go home" Hain continued. "If it sounds like it would be difficult for an ordinary demon like me. But I feel like if I come with you, then I'll be able to break it."

Darren replied, "You understand his condition, right?" Her speech. "The Dark Demon King is chasing me. They can come and attack at any time. I can't make sure I'm safe myself."

Hain nodded. "I get. Therefore, I want to help solve this problem. We'll find a way home for you, and also for the Outlanders who might still be out there."

Darren was silent for a moment, until then he asked one more question.

"Why do you care so much about them?"

"Because I feel, you shouldn't be involved with this world. We are the inhabitants of this world, yet you are only victims of unknown reasons" Hain replied. "I also thought. If only I had been sent to another world I didn't recognize. I must be hoping there's someone who can help me too."

Darren did not answer. He himself was worried about making a decision. For a glance, the sentence that Clara had spoken rang in her eyes.

"How many lives have you lost so you can get here?"

Hearing that sentence alone made Darren's hair stand up. Although he now knows Clara as a blo'on and careless person, but the words he said really made Darren became worried.

Dyland suddenly replied. "Ah, what a pity. Though I was going to promote you as a general" he said, patting Hain on the shoulder. "But if you want to come, I won't forbid."

"Captain-No, Your Majesty."

"Call me Captain" He continued. "others. Hain, you know what's been waiting for you if you come with Darren, right?"

"Yes, I know it well."

"Are you scared?"

Hain paused for a long time, but he answered immediately. "No. I'm not afraid."

"Good then," Hain then turned to face Darren. "Darren, take him. I don't know if he'll help much, but he can learn."

"Wait a minute, are you serious? You said you wanted to promote it, right?"

"Hain is not a person who cares about rank and position" Dyland replied. "Just like you, he's just a demon who thinks the world could be a better place. It's just that he wasn't blessed with any more power. He can learn a lot from you too."

"But I'm not sure" Darren said. "It's been a few months since I came here. And I've caused many lives to be wasted. I don't want Hain to be one of them."

Dyland sighed. "The living. No matter how strong someone is, they cannot escape death. Now think about it, how many people out there are dead not because of you?"

Darren fell silent. He began to understand the meaning of Dyland's words.

"There are still a lot of people out there who are suffering. And not everything is your fault" Dyland added. "You only intend to do good. But to do good things, sometimes it takes sacrifice. Just like Samson did."

Hain. "Therefore, I want to protect Good. I don't want the life that Samson has entrusted to him to be wasted."

Darren folded his hands. "All right," he said with weight. "You can come. But I can't promise to guarantee your safety."

Hain smiled widely with his enthusiastic expression. "Thank you very much, Darren!"

They walked up to the front of the deserted castle gate. At the end of the road, they are separated by a fork which will be their last meeting.

"We parted ways, yes" Clara said with a small smile.

"Yes. Please take good care" said Darren.

Hain approached Bagus who was standing beside Clara. He held her shoulder and looked at her seriously.

"Good, I promise you one more time. I'll find a way!"

Nice little smile. "Thank you, Hain. Even though I've been mean to you, but you still treat me well. Suppose we could be ordinary friends without this pathetic background."

"Now we are friends!"

As Hain and Bagus chatted, Clara approached Darren. They looked at each other and for a moment, a silent silence enveloped them.

Suddenly...

Grabbs! Clara is holding Darren. Darren was only speechless with a slightly blushed face.

"What the hell, Clara-san," Darren said. "You'll want to be a prank again."

"Thank you, Darren-kun," Clara said. "Thank you for saving Avon. Indeed, the rebel forces also helped. But I just want to thank you personally."

"D-HUH..."

"If I'm a Demon King, but I don't have much. I can only repay you by promising to protect Good. And also, this little hug."

Darren slowly moved his arm. He touched Clara's back and returned his embrace.

Darren's squad parted ways with Clara's squad, with Hain joining them. Clara's group took a turn to the left, while Darren took the right.

Shortly before the view between them disappeared devoured by shadows, Darren had waved a hand which was then replied with a thumbs up from Clara.

"Darren-sama, where are we going now?" Ask Shiro.

Darren smiled slightly. He had been thinking about their next goal for a long time.

"I want to take the three of you somewhere" Darren told his friends.

"Hoo, where?" Sahut Hain was curious.

Darren stopped his steps. He opened the portal with his hand. The moves he had just learned from the battle the other day.

"It will be a long time if we walk. We'd better go through the portal" Darren said. "I can't wait to get you there."

.

.

.

"We're going to go on a picnic, Bagus-kun!"

"Don't say it with a happy tone dong, Clara-san. Did you forget that there's a Demon Lord chasing us?"

"Eh yes I forgot. But we should also have fun!"

"Jeez."
