"Michael, run!" A familiar voice for Michael. Like the voice of someone he had forgotten. A voice that feels close, but also far away.
For a moment, Michael's gaze was fixed on the demon child. Seeing the danger that was about to fetch him. Suddenly, a strange feeling instantly flowed within his body.
Without realizing it, his hands moved on their own. He threw out one of his sticks and immediately stretched out his hand while casting a spell.
"Fire Elemental: Fire Ball!"
Fire elements gathered at the end of his palm, forming a hot fireball. The heat can make the rain water evaporate.
Swosh! He launched the ball, with a astonished look. But he no longer held himself back.
The fireball immediately grabbed the undead and killed him instantly. Even in the midst of heavy rain, the fire was strong enough to burn the charred undead body.
Riana's surprised. He turned his face towards Michael. His face was instantly adorned with an expression of shock as well as gratitude.
"You did," Riana said softly with a proud smile on her face.
Without further ado, Michael immediately cast his next spell.
"Fire Elemental: Extermination Flame!" He said while raising his hands up.
The burning flames immediately spread out in all directions within a wide range. The flames hit the zombies that surrounded them and killed them in an instant.
In a short period of time, the number of undead instantly decreased by a great deal. Even now Ari has more room to shoot his arrows.
"Who did it?" Ari asked as he continued to attack. He glanced a little. "Is he?"
After successfully launching his fire magic, Michael slowly fell down and fell to the ground. It seemed that resting on one stick could not hold its balance.
He also fell. It has not fully recovered. Maybe because he ate a little lunch.
Riana approached him. He approached and tried to help her stand up.
"You okay?" Ask Riana.
But Michael answered with another question. "That kid. Is she okay?"
Riana smiled slightly while holding her palm. "Yes, he's fine. It's thanks to you, Knight."
"Michael," said Michael, giving his name.
Riana was pleased. Michael has changed little since they first met.
"Thank you, Michael-san," Riana said.
Michael sat on the wet ground. He said, "Don't waste time. Take people to a safe place."
"Then, you?"
Michael looked towards Ari. "I'll help your brother. Anyway, it's not over yet."
Riana nodded, then left Michael. He also did not forget to grab the child's arm and take it away from there.
"Come, we're out of here."
"Om ksatyia how?"
"He'll be fine. He's a strong man."
Seeing that Riana had left, Michael immediately grabbed his wand that had fallen off. He slowly got back up and staggered towards Ari.
"You, demon youth," Call Michael from behind.
Ari. He saw a man with a walking stick coming at him.
"So right. You did it" said little Ari.
Michael went ahead Ari. It raised its gaze towards the undead crowd that was still moving towards them.
"Your magic was very helpful. But, their numbers are still very much," said Ari.
"I have a plan. But I need your help" Michael said with a serious face.
Ari's eyes were stunned for a moment. It felt like he was seeing a different person in front of him.
"Hehe, it feels strange to hear you for help" Ari said with a grin. "Then, say. What should I do!"
Michael walked closer. The sound of his staff sounded like stepping on mud.
"I want you to be the bait" Michael explained his plan. "Make them gather at one point. Gather them as much as you can."
Ari gulped his saliva. "U-Umpuan?" Said doubtful.
Michael nodded. "Can you?"
Ari pondered for a moment. He was a little hesitant and afraid. All this time he always fought in the back row with his arrow and never so close to his opponent.
Plakk! Ari slapped her own face. He threw away all his doubts. He must do this, for the safety of the people.
"alright. I'll do it" Ari said.
"good. Do it quickly. Once you've gathered them together, get away from there as soon as possible!"
Ari started moving. He moved skillfully through the crowd of undead. His experience as a hunter in the jungle has made this job much easier.
As a hunter, Ari has incredible stamina. He has been accustomed to running at high speed in order to pursue the target. And he has been doing this for years.
His efforts bore fruit. The zombies started to get distracted and walked after him. Ari led them to an open field not far from the village.
After being convinced that the undead had gathered. Ari immediately moved away from there and shouted.
"Done!"
Hearing Ari's words, Michael closed his eyes and began to cast spells.
"Light Elemental: Heaven's Light," He completed his spell.
Suddenly, the sky opened. The billowing clouds immediately moved leaving a hole in the sky. The rain stopped because the clouds were gone.
Ari looked at the sky in amazement. "This magic. S-level light magic!"
A bright light descended from the hole in the sky, falling down and illuminating the crowd of undead. Shortly after the light hit the ground, another, brighter flash of light appeared. Very bright to dazzle the eyes.
"What the fuck!? I can't see anything, '" Ari covered her eyes with her palms.
The ground shook and there was a noise coming from the direction of the light. The incident lasted about thirty seconds, until finally the atmosphere began to subside.
Ari opened her eyes slowly, as her vision began to clear up.
"I-This!?" His eyes immediately glared in shock. The sight before him made him speechless.
The ground was crushed to melt, forming a hole in the form of a basin above it. A few puffs of smoke were left in the wind. There was not a single undead corpse left.
Ari turned to look at Michael. Michael fell to the ground. Ari immediately ran to him.
"Hey hey, are you okay?" Ari asked while crouching beside her.
"I'm out of it" replied Michael briefly.
Ari shook her body and sat down beside Michael.
"Why are you doing this?" His question.
Michael gave a rather long pause, staring into the chimney. Then he answered.
"Humans, monsters, who actually determines it?" Michael said grimly. "What did you do in this time with your ancestors? Do you know what sins have been ingrained in your blood for thousands of years?"
Ari was silent. He actually felt a little offended by Michael's words. But he realized that Michael was talking about something else.
Michael continues. "I've thought all along that you demons are just monsters that harm humans. Possessing dangerous powers and devious thinking. A threat to this world" he said. Then he looked at his palm. "But in fact, you're just ordinary creatures. The weak are not as strong as the human. When you are chased by calamity, you face it like a human. You even have empathy like humans."
"What made you realize it?" Ari Sahut.
"Your sister" replied Michael. "Looking at her, made me subconsciously look to the past I had long forgotten. A memory with my mother, both good and bad."
Michael continued his sentence. "He helped and fed me with sincerity. Although I was stubborn and continued to reject him, but he did not give up. When I finally ate his food, he just smiled broadly without any evil intentions."
"That's how my sister. It's too plain. At first I was a little worried when he brought you home. But now I'm glad you've changed" said Ari.
He then helped Michael stand up and gave him his fallen wand.
Ari whispered again. "But that doesn't mean I'm gonna let go of my surveillance. If you fuck up, I won't shut up. Even though I know you're much stronger than I am."
Michael just nodded. He had no intention of fighting them anymore.
Suddenly, something moved from behind the tree. Ari was immediately alert and on standby.
Michael immediately muttered. "Elder's Lich?"
Ari immediately pulled out her arrows and prepared to shoot her. "Who are you!?" Ari threw a question at the skull undead.
The undead answered. "Should I answer you?"
But the undead immediately looked at Ari with a sharp look. His jaw started to curve, showing a wide grin on his face.
"You have a unique Mana, son," said the undead as the road approached. "I'm so lucky to meet such a fancy meal like you."
Without saying much, Ari immediately released the thread stretching on her finger. The arrows shot through the air and flew towards the undead.
But the undead just snapped his fingers. Suddenly the arrow changed. The arrow stabbed sharply down until it finally fell to the ground.
"What was that?" Ari's eyes hardened full of wonder.
"The magic of darkness" Michael said. "Magic of gravity manipulation. He must have created an anomalous area with a stronger gravity around it."
The undead stopped and glanced towards Michael who was still lying on the ground.
"You're human. It's rare that I see your race cooperating with demons" he said. "Huh, but nothing special about you. You don't deserve my attention."
The undead instantly snapped his finger. The ground suddenly shook and a heavy pressure began to envelop the bodies of Michael and Ari.
"Damn, he used his magic on us" grumbled Michael, his body sinking into the ground.
Ari tried to improve her posture. He pulled his arrow. But the thread suddenly broke because the pull of gravity made his hand become very heavy.
"I can't move" Ari fell to his knee.
The undead walked up to them. Ie stopped in front of them and stood up as if the influence of gravity was not affecting him at all.
"You, white devil. In your blood there is a great power flowing" he said. "Albino descent always amazes me. No matter how many of you I eat, your sense of mana never bore me."
"K-You, shit," Ari stared intently. But still it did not release him from the fact that he was trapped.
The undead grinned. "Good meal!" He said while opening his jaw wide.
When the mouth of the undead opened, something happened. A stream of aura flowed out from Ari's body. At the same time, Ari's face became increasingly pale and lost color.
It turns out Mana Ari is being sucked. And it seemed that the undead had no intention of sparing it one bit. If this continues, Ari's life could be under threat.
Michael's eyes were wide open. Seeing that, he did not want to be silent. Although strong gravity made it difficult, he tried to extend his hand and point it at the undead.
"Fire Elemental: Fire Ball!"
The fireball shot towards the undead. Spontaneously, however, the undead instantly saw him and opened his mouth towards the incoming fireball. In an instant, the fireball was sucked into his mouth and disappeared.
"Not good. But enough as an appetizer," said the undead while continuing to suck Mana Ari.
Michael could only stare in terror as Ari's face paled. He tried to shoot magic once more, but realized that his own Mana was up.
"Dad!" Michael shouted in despair.
"I finally found you" suddenly another voice came from behind Michael. "Non-Elemental Spell: Cancelling!"
The gravitational field around them had returned to normal. A person moved as fast as lightning. He quickly took out a sword and slashed the jaw of the undead.
"Impossible! How did you find me so soon?" The undead were surprised not the brawn.
That person pulled Ari away from the clutches of the undead and pushed him away.
"I'm sorry for getting you involved in this fight" the man told Ari and Michael. "I didn't think he'd find a village full of people nearby."
Michael and Ari just stared in confusion. Slowly, they began to see how the person's stature was. It turns out she was a demonic woman. He was wearing a robe that connected straight with his head covering. He seemed to be a wandering adventurer.
"How did you find me here?" The undead asked the woman a question. "I should have covered my tracks perfectly."
"The light from heaven is what leads me" answered the woman. "When I saw the clouds open and the rain stopped at that place, I immediately knew that something had happened."
The undead grumbled. "Damn it, that man is indeed an unlucky carrier."
"There's no way to run, Balung. You're gonna die here" the woman continued.
"Fuck you," the Undead shouted loudly.
The undead, who turned out to be named Balung, straightened his skinless hands.
"Watch the power given by my Master. The darkness that covers the earth. Gravitational Release!"
Suddenly gravity instantly disappeared around them. Things on the ground started to float in the air.
The woman clasped her sword tightly. "The Art of the Swing Vertrag: Blessing of Second Chance!"
The sword in his hand was suddenly split in the middle, creating two smaller, slender swords.
Now both of his hands were holding swords. But in the midst of a situation that has no footing, he also hovers without direction in the air.
Laughing races. "A sword fighter like you tends to rely on foot movements. If there's nothing you can poke, then it's the same you can't move."
The woman grinned. "You think so?" Her speech. "Earth Elemental: Boulder Smash!"
He threw one of his swords with all his might to the ground. When the sword hit the ground, the surface shattered instantly. Large pieces of stones flew into the air.
"Feel this!" Said the woman while throwing some stones at Balung.
"Heh, do you think such a weak attack could hurt me?" The beam clenched its hands and struck every stone that came crashing down.
As he smashed the last stone, suddenly the woman had already appeared in front of him. He's surprised.
"W-How can it!?" His eyes were shocked.
He also saw some stones that were still floating where the woman was standing.
"So so. He did not plan to use all the stones to attack me. Instead of diverting my thoughts so as not to realize that he actually used it as a foothold.'
The woman brandished her thin sword. "The Art of the Vertrag Sword: Dance of Stoneslasher."
With a series of attacks, Balung's entire body was slashed endlessly. He could feel his bones one by one breaking and falling out.
The woman did not give him the slightest chance to breathe, although literally he did not have lungs. But the woman herself seemed to be not breathing and continued to swing her sword nonstop.
The trunk began to weaken and was no longer able to move his body.
Kruakk! Pour the bones scattered to the ground, while Balung's skull is still left behind.
He also screamed. "Damn it! Who the hell are you?"
"Be quiet, I have my own questions" the woman replied with her sword. "What are you planning to do in Steinfen?"
"Steinfen? How did you know?" Balung was surprised to hear that.
"You're one of the Dark Demon King's subordinates right? No need to deny it. I've been watching your movements the last few days."
"Observing us? Why did you go that far? My master is the Demon King who will rule this world. If the time comes, then your fates of the demons will be saved. Why are you fighting us?"
"I have my own reasons" replied the woman. "He killed my friend without mercy. I want him to feel the same way."
"Pfftt, do you think you can kill my lord?" Laughing races. "Don't hope! Just standing in front of him will make your knees tremble. His majesty was so dazzling that it made everyone stunned when they saw him."
"I know I'm not on her level. I can't fight one on one. But I can do little things that can bother him" replied the woman. "For example, ruining his plan. Disrupting everything he had prepared. And kill his subordinates one by one."
"K-You-"
"Good bye."
Slassh! The woman swung her sword. He split the skull until finally killed Balung.
"Two have fallen" said the woman slowly.
He took his other sword on the ground. The two swords he attached and then fused back together like a whole sword.
Michael and Ari just stared at the woman while staring. The woman walked up to them and made them come back from their daydream.
"Sorry for bothering you. Because of me, the undead came here" said the woman. "Oh yeah, let me introduce myself. My name is Katherine, a wanderer."
