"So this is their base?" Thought Darren after trailing them for a few minutes.
The main base of the robbers was on the edge of an Erfroren mountain cliff. At the entrance, Darren saw two guards carrying swords.
"There's a chance that there will be more people inside."
With his Sneak spell, Darren managed to sneak past the two guards without being caught.
As soon as Darren made it in. As expected, there were a lot of people. The robbers there look busy, making Darren wonder why.
"Richard, quickly grab the box over there! We have to send them all to Aergium tomorrow morning!" Shouted one of the robbers with a headband.
"They? What do we mean by animal humans?"
The robbers crowded into a thick iron cage on a horse-drawn cart.
"justify allegations! They want to sell animal humans!"
Darren has to hurry. He must quickly get the key or the animal-men in the house will be merchandise.
"Basins of man have no heart."
Still under the effects of Sneak magic, Darren searches through several rooms to find the objects he needs.
"Aah! Here's the key!" Darren finally found the key in a room that seemed to be a finance room.
Darren managed to secure the key. Now he just needs to get out of there without leaving a trace.
"Eh, what is this?" Ask Darren when he sees a file on the table. "Look at the gap."
Carefully, Darren noticed all the files.
"Aergium?" Darren read one of his writings. "Isn't Aergium the birthplace of Rolf?"
Darren continued his reading. "It is written that there is a container. He was the buyer of the animal-men."
"O-oy... W-why are the files self-moving!?" Suddenly someone entered the room.
Darren surprised. He immediately removed his hand from the file.
The man immediately picked up a sword that was displayed on the wall and swung it blindly to every corner of the room.
"Everything! There's an intruder here!" His shouting. "Someone just opened these files. He must have used Sneak magic!"
All the robbers looked up and became alert. They sharpened their eyes and began to search everywhere.
"Dam. It's because I'm too pampered. Now I'm in trouble!" Darren said in his heart. "At least I have to get out with this key."
Darren immediately slipped through the cracks of those people and managed to escape.
"I made it out. The key is in my hands too. Now I just need to get to that house."
Upon returning home, Darren pulls the key out of his pocket. He looked around to make sure no robbers were coming.
"It looks safe" Darren said. "I have to hurry, before they realize that their key has been lost."
Kreeks... Darren opened the door slowly.
All the animal humans inside were stunned. They felt alien to Darren's face. They initially thought that they had already been sold to the new master again.
Fear was immediately plastered on their faces. They were trembling and desperate.
Darren looked at their faces with pity.
"What is their suffering?" Darren said to himself. "The desperate glances they gave, and their fragile and trembling bodies. They must have been through a cruel hell all their lives."
"All of you," said Darren, "I am..."
Before Darren finished his sentence, an animal man cut out his words.
"My master, please, give this child some food," It turned out to be a human female animal back then. "He had not eaten for a week. He was a little boy and he was dying."
The boy looked skinny, like a withered plant. His body trembled and he whimpered in pain.
"This, quickly give it to him," Darren said with pity.
The woman picked it up and fed the child carefully.
Nom. nom. nom.
"Don't forget to drink it. Later he can choke," Darren said.
All the animal people there were stunned to see Darren.
As Darren watched the little boy, there was a wound on his back. It turned out to be a whip wound.
"Give me the kid" Darren said.
The wound is pretty bad. It seemed like the previous employer was very vile. For the size of a small child, he was strong enough to be able to survive with injuries like this.
"Heal!" Darren healed the boy's wounds. "Now everything's fine."
"Thank you, my Lord," said the woman. He knelt down in front of Darren. "You can do anything for me for my pay."
Darren was stunned. "He's. too good. Though the boy doesn't necessarily have anything to do with him."
Darren replied, "Ehem. if that's the case, we can talk about it later," Replying, "For now, you all need to get out of here."
The animals simply obey without saying anything. It shows how scared they are of humans.
"I am only the human they have just seen" Darren said. "But they just want to follow. Do they have no stance?"
"No. I'm sure it's because of their dark past. They're always afraid of humans."
"That's what I need to change!"
One by one they started to leave the house. When counted, their number was around thirty-five.
"Let's hurry. We don't have much time" Darren said, worried that the robbers might come back.
A twang!!! An arrow floated up and was stuck on the ground, right in front of Darren.
"Watch, it's them!" Darren said seeing a crowd of people appear from afar.
"Look! He ran away to take them! Hurry up and catch them all!" Shouted robbers with headbands. "If they fight back, don't hesitate to kill them!"
The arrows flew.
Darren quickly let out his spell.
"Earth Elemental: Stone Wall!" A great wall was created between Darren and the robbers.
"You guys, quickly take cover behind me!" Darren told the animal people.
"Dam. Fighting them that much won't be easy. Moreover, they are robbers who certainly have good fighting skills."
"My priority is to save the animals. I won't let them walk in hell again!"
Darren instantly cast his ultimate spell.
"Non-elemental Spell: Weather Modification!"
Instantly, the roar of lightning sounded extremely loud everywhere. Heavy rain poured into the area very thickly.
In an instant, the water began to flood the place. Make a large puddle of water.
The robbers were shocked by the incident, but they kept fighting back.
"It's not enough yet, yes" Darren said. "Ice Elemental: Proximity Freze!"
The vast puddle of water froze and created a slippery ice field.
"What kind of magic is this!?" The robbers were surprised.
Darren laughs. "Do you guys still want to play?" He said while grinning. "If it is, then I will serve you!"
