"Y-Yuzuna-san..." Darren was delirious in his sleep. "Yuzuna-san!"
He awakens. When he regained consciousness, he saw himself lying in bed. Ah yes, he remembered that he was at Ravenna's house. Then, it means he's in his room right now.
"Darren, what's wrong? Are you all right?" Ravenna immediately broke down the door and barged in.
"Eh?" Darren was surprised Ravenna came so quickly.
"I heard you scream. Are you well?" Ravenna nyerocos. "Are you not feeling well? Is that a side effect of using your magic?"
"Ah, I'm fine. I'm just running out of nowhere" replied Darren trying to calm down.
Ravenna breathed. He was relieved that Darren was okay.
"By the way, how long have I fainted?" Connect Darren.
"About a week" answered Ravenna with a smile.
"Ha!? A week!?" Darren panicked.
"No-no, I'm just kidding" Ravenna said with a chuckle. "You only fainted one night."
Darren sighed. "You almost got me hanging" Darren said.
"I'm grateful you're okay" Ravenna continued in a soft tone. "Then let's have breakfast."
They also went to breakfast.
"How's it going in town?" Darren asked while eating his food.
"There was astounding news last night" replied Ravenna with a serious face.
"What's wrong?"
"The Kingdom of Erobernesia is under attack" Ravenna said.
"attacked? By who?" Darren asked, beginning to be curious.
"People say that the one who attacked them was a demon king" answered Ravenna.
"Demon king?" Said Darren while frowning his forehead. "It turns out there's also something like that here."
"Then, how is the state of the government now?" Connect Darren.
"Burning. Scorched to the ground, "Ravenna answered seriously. "The city walls were destroyed, the buildings collapsed. Almost everything is level with the ground."
"It's so powerful that demon king, '" Darren said, imagining.
"But miraculously, there were no deaths there" Ravenna continued. "Even all the residents there managed to get out without any injuries."
"Eh, seriously?" Darren said in disbelief. "Of all the damage, no one was hurt?"
"Yes. At least that's what people say" Ravenna said.
Darren frowned as he continued stroking his chin. He was a little suspicious of the Devil King's actions. But there was one thought that kept bothering him.
"Michael, is he still alive?" Darren muttered with hate. "He can't die. Not if I didn't kill him myself."
Darren is too preoccupied with his thoughts, until he is suddenly startled by Ravenna calling him.
"What's the matter Darren? You look agitated" asked Ravenna.
Darren soon awoke from his daydream. "Ah, I was just thinking about something" he said. "Are there no casualties on the military side?" Reciprocity.
"There," answered Ravenna. "The person we fought yesterday, Taiji Kuroba. Found dead in a rotting state."
"rot? Is that witch magic?" Thought Darren.
"Maybe," said Ravenna. "Other than him, everyone survived. Including kings, queens, princes, and generals."
Darren sighed. He was grateful that Michael was alive. That meant he still had a chance to avenge her.
"But why was only Taiji killed? Is that demon just like me, who holds a grudge?"
Darren immediately moved from his seat. He recalled that he should have gone to the Kingdom of Friedlich before, as Fabrio had suggested.
"Maybe if it's there, I can get some information" Darren thought.
Darren immediately took his things and permission to leave.
"This fast?" Ravenna tried to stop him. "Why don't you spend one more night?"
Darren shakes. "I'm sorry, I have to go" he said. "There's a journey waiting for me."
Before Darren could leave, Ravenna gave him a map
"This map is my father's legacy. So you could say this is an old map," Ravenna said as she offered her map.
"Thank you, Ravenna. It's very helpful" Darren said.
After Darren picked up the map, Ravenna suddenly pulled her hand and hugged her.
He whispered softly in Darren's ear, "Thank you. I owe you one too."
"Yes. Take good care of yourself, yes" Darren replied.
They also separated.
After making it out of the city, Darren immediately headed for the Lizardmen village as soon as possible. He wanted to make sure he was there as long as he left.
There are also many adventurers. Anything can happen without guess. Darren immediately accelerated his pace.
With his Speed magic, Darren managed to arrive at the Lizardmen village in just hours.
"Well, Darren. You're back, "Greet Kanrei who looks happy.
"Is everything okay?" Ask Darren.
"Yes" said Kanrei. "The adventurers of yesterday have been put on hold. They don't seem to want to fight either."
"Good," said Darren.
"By the way, do you know about the demon lord?" Connect Darren.
"Yes, why?" Answer Kanrei.
"It's nothing. I just want to know" Darren said.
"I don't know much myself" Kanrei continued. "All I know is that the demon lord is a monster with extraordinary powers. They are feared, both by humans and monsters."
"Even you?" Darren.
Kanrei.
"Wait, when you say 'They', does that mean there's more than one demon king?" Ask Darren.
"That's right," Kanrei replied as she gave her thumb. "Anybody can be a demon king, as long as he can prove he's worthy."
"How is it?"
"Of course with a show of force" Kanrei said. "If he manages to prove that his strength is stronger than the average monster, then he will be recognized as a demon king."
"There's one more question that bothers me" Darren said. "Actually, what is the purpose of being a demon lord."
"If it were, I don't know that much myself" replied Kanrei. "Maybe just for fun. Moreover, if you become a demon lord, then you can be famous."
Darren nodded even though he was still unsure himself.
"Is it that simple? Being a demon lord just for fun?"
"The demon king should like to kill people. Like in the anime."
That night, Darren tried to make sure of this. He went to the village hall to meet Kaido, but unfortunately he did not find him there. He looked for her everywhere but still did not meet.
"Where is he? Tumben once he comes out," murmured Darren. "Tomorrow I must go."
Finally Darren returned to Riuku's house. He stayed there for the last time. By the next morning, Darren was ready to leave.
"Sister Darren, are you leaving?" Takara asked while hugging him.
Darren smiles. "Yes, I have to go" he said.
"But I still want to play with you" Takara continued. "Please don't go first."
Darren squatted his body. He rubbed Takara's head gently as he said, "Sorry, but I have to go."
Takara's face was clear.
"Just calm. I'll stop by here again sometime" Darren said comfortingly.
Takara was smiling. "Promise yes."
"Yes, I promise," Darren replied with a smile.
While Riuku had already prepared Darren's things. Darren immediately stepped out and continued on his way.
"See you later, Darren-san!" Said Riuku while waving, followed by a shout from Takara.
"Don't forget your promise!" His shouting.
Darren smiled widely, waving his hand.
"Bye bye! Riva, Takara!"
