Isekai No Gakusei: Students From Another World

Isekai No Gakusei: Students From Another World
Adventurer Veronheim, Esema-sama

Darren and Shiro were on their way to the adventurer Guild in the city.

"As per the info I got from the city library, the Masked Man is a former adventurer" Darren said. "Maybe I could know more if I directly asked his Guild."

"Darren-sama, what makes you so curious about her?" Ask Shiro.

"There is no specific reason. I was just wondering" Darren replied. "Especially after learning that he had the same talent as Rolf."

Arriving at the Guild, Darren headed straight for the reception desk. There he registered himself as an adventurer.

"If I had just come to ask the Masked Man, they could have thought of me as a stalker. It's better if I blend in with the situation," he thought. "I also need money. Earnings as an adventurer are not too bad either."

"Welcome to the Veronheim Guild. Can I help you?" Greet the receptionist.

"I'm here to sign up to be a Veronheim adventurer" Darren replied.

"Seeing from your gear, it looks like you've been adventurous before" the receptionist said. "Is that true?"

"Yes," Darren replied as he nodded.

"All right then. Now, please put your hands on this magic ball, " said the receptionist.

Gulp, Darren gulped. The magic ball looked exactly the same as the one he had used first in the guild before. Will the same thing happen again?

"Eh. anu," said Darren stammering, "I'm actually just a bronze-ranked adventurer. No need to measure also gapapa, right?"

"Eh... So you're a rookie adventurer?" Reply to the receptionist, "When your equipment looks good. I didn't expect it."

"But what's wrong with measuring your strength?" Call the receptionist again. "It could be that this time your strength has increased."

Darren panic. He was afraid that the magic ball would be damaged again and he would be fined. Though his finances falter again thin.

"I'm sorry, but I don't have a problem with bronze levels" Darren said.

The receptionist was silent for a moment, but eventually he let Darren down.

"Then, what about him?" Said the receptionist while pointing at Shiro. "Is he your slave?"

"If he wants to join you, he has to sign up" he said.

"He's..." Darren said, "He's my partner. Don't look down on him as a slave."

"Oh, I see," replied the receptionist with a nonchalant expression, "Then, what's your name?"

Darren had thought of this before. It's impossible to use his real name for a while. People who hunt him will know of his whereabouts.

"My name is Esema" answered Darren. "And he is Shiro" he said, pointing at Shiro.

"*Yes, actually I took the name of the school. High School, I'm reading it to Esema*."

"Alright, Esema-kun. From now on your subordinates have officially become Veronheim adventurers" said the receptionist. "You are bronze adventurers, so make sure you are not careless in taking the quest. Don't take a quest that's too difficult, because your lives aren't the responsibility of the Guild."

Darren and Shiro nodded. "Yes, thank you for the cooperation" Darren said.

After registering, Darren and Shiro left the Guild.

"Darren-sama, I'm sorry if I was presumptuous," Shiro asked suddenly, "Why did you change your name?"

"Ah, that. I'm a fugitive. It would be dangerous if the people hunting me knew where I was" Darren replied. "From now on, call me by that name, yeah."

"Alright, Darr-I'm sorry.., Esema-sama," replied Shiro.

"Well, great. It's noon now. Are you hungry?" Darren. "Let's have lunch first."

After leaving the Guild, Darren and Shiro walked around the city in search of a cheap place to eat.

"As I read in the city library, Veronheim was the outermost city of the Friedlich kingdom. The city was filled with merchants as it was one of the trading centers of the world."

"For the 'World' itself, I still don't know much. This world I live in now really has a different system of work."

"Slavery and forced labor are common here. So too with racism and abuse, those two things seem to be a part of human life here."

Shortly after Darren managed to break through a crowd, Darren felt tired of constantly being in the crowd. After all, he used to be a zeroep introvert. Being in the crowd makes it uncomfortable.

He saw a small alley that looked lonely. It might be a good place to rest for a while.

"Shiro, let's rest there first" Darren said as he pulled Shiro's hand.

Darren gasped for air, and so did Shiro. The city crowd forced Darren to rest. After entering a small alley, Darren sat on the edge of the wall while watching many people who did not stop passing by.

"I didn't expect it to be this many, "Gerutu Darren while adjusting his breathing. "From time I didn't fit in with the crowd."

Shiro who was still standing while slightly bowing his body from being tired, constantly let out a rough breathing sound. He was also gasping for fatigue.

"I'm sorry, Shiro. Because I took the wrong path, we're stuck here" Darren said.

"Don't say that, Esema-sama. It's not entirely your fault" Shiro replied.

"Ah. yes," Darren replied awkwardly hearing Shiro's reply.

"I think Shiro's style of speech is too formal. I sometimes feel weird hearing that."

As the two of them were chatting, suddenly a noise came from the direction of a pile of barrels not far from it.

Darren and Shiro were shocked. Darren immediately jumps in front of Shiro, intending to protect him.

"Shiro, beware!" Darren. "Stay behind me!"

Before long, there was a groaning sound. Curious Darren tried to check it out. He walked slowly with his sword in his hand.

Suddenly...

Gubrakk! The barrels fell on someone who was lying on the ground.

Darren immediately ran to him.

"You! Are you okay?" He said as he dismantled the heavy pile of barrels.

When it was dismantled, it turned out to be a young man. He was found to have fainted with his hand holding his stomach.

But there was something else that surprised Darren. Upon seeing her face, Darren felt like he had met her before.

"This man, I think I've seen him before" Darren said in his heart. "Wasn't he the man!?"

"The fit was willing to fight the robbers, but it fell down before fighting!"

"Yes really. Same face!"

When Darren tried to pull him from the pile of barrels, he accidentally felt something on the young man's wrist.

Darren immediately narrowed his eyes. Her wrists are red. Looks like it was caused by a severe friction wound.

"His hand's hurt. But because of what?" Darren Mumbled.

Darren immediately carried her.

"Shiro, it seems like our lunch is postponed first" Darren said while groaning in objection. "We have to go back to the inn."

"Okay, Esema-sama!" Answer Shiro.
