After that brief meeting, Darren was invited to come to the castle. They said there was something to discuss.
At first Darren refuses, suspicious that this is another trap, but they promise that they only want to ask Darren something. There was no trickery and no arrests.
Darren accepts the invitation when Sella, Selly, Robert, and Mia convince Darren. But he decided to stay on guard.
After arriving at the castle, Darren was immediately guided towards the special meeting room. A moment after entering the room, Darren was stunned by how magnificent the place was. Almost a quarter of the walls are made of gold, and many artifacts belong to the kingdom.
Beside Darren are Shiro, Tora, Sella, Selly, Robert, and Mia. They were asked by Darren to accompany him.
The soldiers stood in front, and no one was in the room. It seems that the woman wanted to talk about something secret. Not even to the extent that people in the Kingdom can know.
The woman was waiting for him while sitting in front of a long, shiny table. As soon as Darren entered the room, he immediately stood up and allowed Darren to sit down.
Beside him stood Rendi who had improved from her previous wound.
"Rendi? Are you feeling better?" Darren asked as he sat on the chair. While Shiro and the others stood behind him.
Rendi nodded while bowing her body. "As you can see, Darren-sama. Lionna-sama has taken good care of my injuries."
"Lionna's? Oh, don't-don't-" Darren looked at the woman.
The woman also bowed her body. He then introduced himself. "My name is Lionna. Daughter of King Vertrag, Lionne. But since my father is gone, I am now the heir to his kingdom." He then sat back down and told Rendi to serve a cup of tea for the two of them.
"Rendi, do you know this woman?" Darren asked as Rendi approached to put some tea.
Rendy replied. "Yes. He used to be my master. I used to work here."
Darren now understands how Rendi has excellent manners. He has experience in maintaining attitude.
Darren received the tea, but he did not drink it at all. Think of it as a form of alertness.
On the other hand, Lionna started sipping her tea gracefully. Like a princess, she drank the tea with royal etiquette.
"So, how are things?" Darren asked his question again. This concerns the situation of Katherine as well as Tomatsu.
"Your friends are fine. They are awake and their wounds have healed" Lionna replied.
Darren breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank God" he said. "Then, where are they now?"
"They are still in the treatment room. Rendi came here because she asked for it" Lionna replied. "But, one of your friends named Tomatsu, seems a little moody. I don't know what happened to him. Maybe you should go see him later."
Darren nodded in understanding. Tomatsu must still be in shock because of the fight against the Demon King earlier. You can see the expression on his face at that time.
"Then, Darren-dono. Is it true that you managed to repel the Demon King?" Lionna immediately headed to the main topic.
Darren replied. "I'm not sure myself" he answered. "The Demon King ran away as soon as he finished killing one of my friends."
Lionna listened seriously.
Darren continued. "I don't know what the real purpose of coming here is. Is he just planning to kill my friend, or is there something else" he said. He then clenched his hand. "Surely, I will chase after the Demon King and avenge my friend's death."
Lionna stared at Darren's increasingly hardened expression. The fight must have hurt him, both physically and mentally. Looking at her face alone, Lionna knew that this was not the first time for Darren.
"Anyway, I want to thank you, Darren-dono," Lionna said. "Thanks to you, the Demon King was successfully repulsed. If not, then the chances of the losses we received would be much greater."
Darren raised his face. "You're thanking me? I'm a criminal. The one who has killed many human lives."
"That's what they think, isn't it?" Lionna. "The "King of Europe must have been very angry at the loss of many of their armies. Especially when he found out that the loss was caused by the young man defending the rights of animal humans."
Lionna crossed her hands on the table. "But that's their business. To me, you are no different from ordinary people. Especially after saving this kingdom," he said. "I have been told that the messenger killed my father. So, I'm no longer on the side of Europe."
"Then will I get an award or a prize?" Ask Darren.
"If you want, I can give it to you" Lionna replied. "But before that, I want to ask you one more thing."
Darren leaned his back on the chair. "What's that?"
"You've been dealing with that Demon King. To be safe is a miracle. So, what exactly are you?" Ask Lionna. "Please answer honestly. Because I can feel something different in your soul."
Darren fell silent.
Darren shakes. "I'm just a normal human being. High School student who spent a quarter of his life on nolep, and apes for getting hit by a train."
Lionna showed an astonished expression. "I don't understand what you're talking about. But like you're telling the truth. My light magic doesn't detect lies."
"It's kind of a prick, huh?" Darren then continued. "By the way, did you say light magic?"
"Yes, right. Why?"
"Uh, it's okay. Forget it," Darren said. "Maybe I better ask Tomatsu directly."
Lionna continued the conversation. "So, because you saved this kingdom. You're free to ask for anything."
Darren answered immediately. "Please tell me about the demon continent."
Everyone there was surprised. Lionna flinched, but she calmed down again. "Well, if that's what you want."
Lionna stood up from her chair and walked slowly towards Darren. As she stood before him, Lionna began to extend a hand and touch Darren's forehead.
For a moment, Darren felt something enter him. When he realized, he immediately threw Lionna's hand out of him.
"What the fuck was that?" Said Darren while getting on standby.
Lionna returned to her seat and sat down. "I've shared some of my knowledge with you."
Darren was a bit confused when he heard that. Lionna suddenly asked a question.
"What is the name of the demon kingdom in the northwestern part of the demon continent?" His question.
Darren quickly replied, "Avon." After answering that, Darren only realized something had happened to him. "Wait a minute, how do I know this?"
Lionna. "As I have said before. I've shared my knowledge with you" he said. "With light magic, I can transmit my memories to others. But those memories won't affect the person's memory. Rather it would just be a normal thing to remember."
Darren sat in his chair. "Is light magic really this great?" Mumbled.
"Is there another request?" Connect Lionna. "You're certainly asking for information about the demon continent isn't for no reason right?"
Darren put his hand on the table. "If you may..." Darren. "Can you help me go to the demon continent as well?"
Lionna took a breath. "I guessed it," he said. "I'm not gonna ask you what your purpose is to get there. But I want to warn you one thing."
Lionna continued. "If you're planning to enter the demon territory through Noordoos, then you might find a little trouble" he said. "The nearest "demon kingdom from there is Avon. There is internal conflict there. So, getting in there might be a little hard."
"Then, what should I do?"
"Ordinary people would generally not be allowed in. Because they'll suspect that you're a spy from another country" Lionna said. "But, if you're disguised as a member of an adventurer guild, then there's still a chance that it'll work."
"Adventurer guild? Are you serious?" Darren.
"Actually, the demon kingdom is not much different from the human kingdom in general. They do not forbid adventurers to explore" Lionna explained. "Adventurer guilds are organizations that are not held by any government. So you could say, the adventurer guild is neutral."
"But, once you enter the demon territory, then the human rules that you have believed all along may not apply there," Lionna continued. "Many of the human adventurers there disappeared. In addition to the dangerous environment there, the demons there also consider humans as lowly creatures that are not much different from animals."
Darren nodded in understanding. "So, essentially. Once I get in there, no one can protect me anymore. I might end up being a slave at the hands of the monsters there." Inner Darren. "Then, in fact, neither humans nor monsters, they were not much different creatures."
Lionna spoke again. "Are you sure you're going there?"
Darren nodded. "Yes. My decision is complete" he replied.
"If it is, I will help you" Lionna said. "Tomorrow, meet me at the adventurer guild. I'll help you go there."
After that, the meeting was over. Darren rents lodging for himself, Shiro, Tora, and also his friends. Tomatsu and Katherine are still in the care room at the castle.
Once again, Darren will be wandering. But this time, the obstacles will probably be much more difficult.
