"Ugh..." Darren felt his body ache. "Where am I?" Mumbled.
He opened his eyes and found himself lying on the grass. He looked around, and all he saw was a vast meadow with few trees.
"What is this place? Am I in the rice field?" Darren rubbed his eyes. He thought he was thrown far enough away because of the collision of the train. "Is that grandma okay, huh?"
He then lifted his body up. While cleaning his pants off the ground, he could feel how cool the place was.
Not far away, there was a thick forest. He did not know if there was a forest near where he lived. But he didn't plan to go there.
"But what's possible if I'm thrown this far?" Darren started to feel like things didn't make sense. "If I were thrown very far. I should've died."
Then he looked up at the sky. He felt that he was lost. If he really did die, then where exactly is he now.
"What is this..." Darren said to himself, "Isekai!?"
"Oy, boy," Suddenly someone called out to him from behind.
As soon as Darren turned his head, he was very surprised. What he saw was not a human being, but a being called "Ogre".
The ogre has two horns and a large body. His eyes were bright red. Its thick skin had a slightly brownish color. No wonder Darren got scared.
"Whoa! Whoa! Go!" Shouted Darren in fear. He hoped someone would come to his aid, but the area was very quiet. "Stay away from me!"
The Ogre seemed to understand that Darren was scared. "Hey, son of man. Calm down a little bit" he said in a heavy voice. "I didn't mean to scare you."
Indeed the ogre was not seen carrying a weapon. He was only seen carrying an object like a bag made of leather. It's still unknown.
Suddenly the ogre took something out of his bag. A red apple was taken and gave it to Darren.
"Eat this" Ogre said convincingly.
Darren started to calm down. He boldly took the apple with his hand and ate it little by little.
"What are you doing here?" Ask the Ogre while sitting next to Darren.
"Huh?" Darren's still eating the apples.
"The area here is very dangerous for humans like you. You shouldn't be here." Say the Ogre.
"Why?" Ask Darren.
"Didn't you know? This area is already famous for its monsters, and you even come here alone," replied Ogre as if worried.
"Are you a monster?" Ask Darren keceplosan.
"Yes. But you needn't be afraid. Because I've stopped eating humans, " said the Ogre while showing a sorry face.
It seemed like something big had happened and changed the life of the ogre. Ogre is usually known as the strongest monster because of its power.
They often hunt humans, especially children. Torture them, and cook them alive. Then eating.
Gulp... Darren gulped it. He realized that the apple he ate was poisonous. But he swallowed everything. All he needed to do now was to be calm and listen to the ogre's explanation.
That way, he can ascertain whether the Ogre is really good or just a shrimp behind a rock.
"Let's just say I'm playing a game" Darren told him.
"By the way, where are you from?" Ask the Ogre.
"I'm from Indonesia" replied Darren.
"Huh? Indonesia's? What kingdom is that? I've never heard of it," Ogre iru was confused. "What is a kingdom in the east?"
Darren doesn't know what to answer. "Yes, you could say that."
The ogre stood up. He then held Darren's shoulder.
"Walk south. Behind that forest, you'll find the nearest town. Get there and get help to get back to where you came from" he said, pointing to the forest.
"Yes, my place of origin is not from here. But it seems like a good idea to go to town. Maybe I can get help there."
Suddenly, the Ogre pulled out a knife from his bag. He handed the knife to Darren.
"Take this. Use this knife to defend yourself if you're in danger, "It turns out that Ogre is really good.
Darren accepted and thanked. After that, the Ogre left Darren.
"Eh. anu!" Shouted Darren before the Ogre was too far away. "Do you have a name?"
"Hioni," Reply to the Ogre while leaving.
"Then, my name is Darren. It's good to meet you!"
They also split up there.
While looking at the knife he was holding, Darren thought of going to the city as quickly as possible. Passing through the forest may be a little dangerous, especially at night.
In the game, nighttime was the time where many monsters would appear. They can attack players from all directions.
This world has a different work system with the work system that is owned in the game. In the game, animals and monsters can just appear. It's called Spawn.
While this world has a way of working that is not much different from the world of Darren's origin. Every creature has a life. They can't just show up. This made Darren remind himself many times that this was the real world, not the game world.
While running around, Darren passed through the trees in the forest carefully. In his knowledge, the forest was usually the nest of many kinds of monsters.
Behind the trees and bushes, there may be a trap waiting. Hence Darren tried to increase his alertness.
Darren who thought the forest was just an ordinary forest, was now entangled in trouble. He did not expect the forest to be so thick. Makes it difficult to navigate.
Orge seems to know that already. Fortunately Darren still had the gift knife in his hand, so he felt safer.
Darren has little fighting experience. During Junior High, he had fought with people who had twice the body of him. With his bare hands he managed to fight the man.
But because of that, he was suspended for several days. Perhaps it was time for him to use an experience he had almost forgotten.
A twang!!! An arrow shot. With the reflex Darren had, he quickly avoided it.
"I almost died again" Darren said gasping. Darren immediately hid behind a tree.
A bunch of goblins emerged from behind the bushes. They seem to be hunting.
One of them said to the other. "Hey, he's not a boar. Why did you shoot him?"
"Because he's human. The Ogres say human flesh is delicious, "Another replied.
"Basic stupid! What if that person is an adventurer!" Shouted the other.
The group of goblins was made up of four goblins. Judging from their appearance, they didn't seem to be very skilled in battle.
Three of them carried bow arrows, and one carried a small knife. They look more like a bunch of hunters than a bunch of fighters.
"Do I have to kill them all?" Darren said to himself. "No. If there's any other way than to kill, I just have to knock them out."
Darren clasped his knife tightly. While thinking of a strategy, he continued to monitor them. It seems that the goblin doesn't know that Darren is hiding behind a tree.
"If I can take down the archers, then I can fight with the knife-wielding person safely."
"To knock out the archers, I just need to cut their bow threads. That way they won't be able to do anything."
With a fast movement, like a professional running athlete, Darren runs from tree to tree. The goblin archers who saw him started shooting at him with arrows.
A twang! Twung! Every arrow that shot out only hit a tree. Darren was very close to them.
Swoosh's... One swing of the blade managed to cut off one of the archer's threads. Two more left.
"They don't seem very smart. I can keep repeating this technique!" Darren.
Shortly thereafter. With Darren's speed, he managed to cut every thread of the three archers. The goblins started to panic.
"Waa!... B-my bow's busted. If this is the case, we could die!" Complaining about one of the goblins.
The knife-wielding goblin did not remain silent. He immediately ran towards Darren in a position to stab him.
"He approached me straight ahead. It seems like he can't fight."
With ease, Darren broke the goblin's attack. He made the goblin drop the knife and lock the goblin's movements. While the other goblins were still glued.
"That's it. You've lost!" Darren.
The goblin had already resigned, it seemed like he accepted his fate to be killed. But Darren let go.
The goblin had already proven unable to fight, plus he no longer had a knife in his hand.
"Punish us! Forgive us!" The words of the goblins simultaneously while prostrating before Darren. "We'll give you anything, just don't kill us!"
Darren saw they had lost their fighting spirit. Killing them would not benefit him either. Removing them may be the best option, considering they are not very dangerous.
"Your bags, give them to me" Darren said as he watched one of the goblins carry a small bag of woven tree bark.
The goblin gave it to him in fear.
With that, Darren could keep his knife without having to hold it at all times. Then Darren thanked me. He then took off the goblins without any problems.
The goblins were just dumbfounded. They didn't think they'd be taken off.
"Sorry, are you really not going to kill us?" Ask one of the goblins to Darren.
Darren shakes. "Why should I kill you?" The answer.
The goblins were staring at each other, as if they could not believe it. Then they answered Darren. "Usually adventurers would kill monsters to gain levels. But you just let us go. Do you have any other intentions?"
"No," Darren replied with a smile, "You have a family too, right? It's a pity that they're waiting for you to come home and find out that you're dead."
The goblins were increasingly astonished by Darren's reply.
It seemed that forgiving monsters was an unusual thing in this world.
In order to level up, adventurers had to kill monsters. The level obtained was according to how powerful the monsters that were being fought were.. Raising the level can affect their magic level and power. This is what Darren does not know.
"Sorry sir, do you have a name?" Ask goblin knife.
"Darren Aswan's. You can call me Darren" replied Darren.
Then the goblins began to adore him. "Darren-sama, please make us your subordinates!"
Darren was surprised. It was his first day in the new world and suddenly he was asked to become the master of these four goblins.
"Sorry, but I don't like having subordinates," Darren replied as he scratched his head. "I always play solo."
"Then thank you for forgiving us. We beg you to stop by our village!" Say the goblins simultaneously.
It was already afternoon. Walking in the woods alone is not a good idea either. So, what's wrong if he stopped by and spent the night in the goblin village. He can continue his journey tomorrow.
"Alright, please deliver me, yes," Darren said.
"Good!" Shouted the goblins at the same time.
