"What are you talking about?!" Darren jumped in shock with a shocked face.
Ronald blushed with his pale white face. "Actually, I've liked Shiro-chan for a long time."
"Since when?!"
"From first sight in class."
"That was yesterday!"
Darren folded his hands while continuously massaging the base of his eyelids.
"Do you like Shiro?" ask Darren again. This time with a serious tone.
Ronald nodded. "really. I like it." His flamboyant tone could still be heard.
"Just because of one look? Can I trust your love?" darren. "You could like it because of lust. If that's the reason, I won't give it to you."
Ronald smiled. "I love his personality."
"And think of him as a slave?"
"As my soul mate."
Darren jerks. Just this time he saw someone who fell in love so much. He was used to seeing similar scenes in anime, but seeing them in person in the real world seemed a bit disgusting.
Doubtfully Darren asked again. "Are you really able to think of him as a couple and align yourself with him? Not to regard him as a lowly animal man but to love him with all your soul."
Ronald remained silent. Darren's words seemed to have shown the answer he needed. He grinned a little while patting Darren on the shoulder.
"Ah, I get it. You're a good brother, Esema," said Ronald. "You don't want to interfere with Shiro-chan's love affairs, do you? You want him to be free to decide for himself. I-i understand. I will express my feelings directly myself."
"Eh? You... serious?"
"Of course." Ronald smiled. "Well, but let's not forget our goal to go all the way here."
Ronald walked past Darren and stopped at a nearby building. "We have arrived."
Darren saw the building. In front of him, there was a wooden board with beautiful carvings. It was written on it, "The Rezkya Iron Wrought".
The two of them entered and were immediately greeted by a glittering collection of weapons filling the walls. Its luster was magnificent, even amateur adventurers could immediately tell that these weapons were made with extraordinary quality.
"Welcome—" A young man greeted them. But when he saw Ronald, his countenance changed as if he said: "He again, he again."
Ronald waved one hand. "Yo, Rezky. How's business lately?"
"Huffs... Appreciable. Lately many adventurers have lost their weapons. So many orders to be fulfilled."
The young man saw Darren come in with Ronald.
"You must be Ronald's friend, yeah. Introduce, I'm Rezky. I am the owner of this blacksmith," he said. For a moment, he looked like he was observing Darren.
"You seem normal to be about the size of Ronald's friend. You weren't forced to be friends with him, were you?" said it.
"Eh... what?" Darren raised an eyebrow of astonishment. Has everyone labeled Ronald a freak?
"Oh, Rezky. This is how I can also find friends, you know" Ronald cut.
"Yes, yeah. I believe," Rezkya replied in a sarcastic tone. He turned back to Darren. "Then, what's your name?"
"I'm Esema. I'm a new student at the adventurer academy" Darren replied.
Ronald advances, then renders at the cashier's desk where Rezkya stands guard. "That's a sign I'm an expert at analyzing people. So, I took the words just now as a compliment."
"Suell up." Rezkya threw away the face. At that moment, Darren soon learns that Rezkya is an elf. It looks like his pointed ears are covered in long hair.
"By the way, your coming here isn't just for getting acquainted, is it?" Ask Rezkya again. "Say. Do you guys need anything?"
Ronald stood up while pointing at Darren. "This young adventurer needs a new weapon to pioneer his career. So, is—"
"Is there a certain type of weapon you want?" Ronald immediately turned to Darren, ignoring Ronald completely.
Darren was silent for a moment. He glanced around and saw a lot of cool weapons. There were arrows, spears, two-bladed axes, and golden-clad magic knives. However, the first thing on his mind was a sword.
"Is there a sword?"
Ronald immediately stepped out of the cashier and pulled Darren's shoulder.
"Dries. I'll show you some of the best."
He pulls Darren up, taking him to a large wall where dozens of swords are plastered there. Iron, bronze, gold. Different types of swords can be found in one look. Darren's eyes seemed to be filled with the luxury of seeing that scene.
"These are the best swords I've ever made. Made with high quality metal and forged lovingly like a child himself." Rezkya proudly shows her works.
"Hee.. You turned out to be a sword maniac, yes," Darren commented.
"What did you say?"
"It's nothing. Forget."
The three of them walked down the swords. Every now and then they stopped so that Darren could try the existing swords one by one. But no matter how much he tried, he still did not find a sword that was in accordance with his wishes.
"Can't I make a special order?" Darren asked as he put a golden sword back into place.
Rezkya shook her head in a doldrums. "Unfortunately we cannot at the moment. A lot of orders have been piling up lately."
"uh? Is there a reason?" Darren asked in wonder.
"The flying news says that many adventurers have lost their weapons. I don't know for what reason."
Weapon missing? The meaning of missing here is quite ambiguous. Lost because it is lost literally? Or lost because of damage or destruction? Darren doesn't have enough information to deduce what's going on.
"What kind of sword do you want?" Ask Rezky.
Darren pondered for a moment. Then he started to shake his arm. Showing movement as if swinging a sword.
"Mild and somewhat curved sword. It's more suitable for slashing than unsheathing" Darren said.
Hearing Darren's description, Rezkya nodded. "I think I have some like that. Wait, I'll take it."
Rezkya leaves and disappears into the back room, leaving both Darren and Ronald.
But Darren's mind was still fixed on the bird news just now. Could it have been the Dark Demon King? Was this a trap that had been prepared for him?
