Isekai No Gakusei: Students From Another World
The Unfortunate Devil

Katherine was waiting with worry. It's been almost two hours since her friends left her.

"Did something happen, huh?" Said slowly. He was worried in case anything happened. "Is Remi okay?"

Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Katherine flinched from her daydreams and immediately stood by. He doesn't know who's coming.

The door opened and someone appeared. It was Remi and Rendi.

Katherine's face was so happy when she saw the two of them survived. He immediately approached them and hugged Remi tightly.

"Remi, you're finally back, too" said Katherine.

Remi returned Katherine's embrace. This was the first time Katherine had ever hugged him. He was happy, but it was not the right time for that.

"Katherine," Remi said as she looked at him. "We need to get out of here now."

Katherine retaliated. "Why? What's up?"

Rendi replied while trying to block the entrance which was soon broken down by the undead. "It's fucked up. We have to go now" he said.

Katherine glanced towards the window and sure enough, a swarm of skeletons were walking towards their place.

"Earth Elemental: Stone Wall!" Rendi blocked the entrance of the building with a stone wall. That way, the undead would not be able to barge in.

"Let's go upstairs. We can escape through the roof of the building," said Rendi while forming an arrangement of stone walls to form a ladder.

They began to climb onto the roof, hoping the undead could not reach them.

When Remu's turn to climb, suddenly the stone wall that blocked the door collapsed. The undead entered through the building and filled the place.

"Remi, get on!" Shouted Rendi.

But just as Rendi was about to climb the stone steps, an undead threw an axe towards Remi all of a sudden.

Remi who realized it immediately evasive reflex. He survived, but the axe made the stone stairs made by Rendi so destroyed.

"Joint, quickly make the stairs again!" Said Katherine beside Rendi.

Rendi tried to cast a spell, but she couldn't. His mana had been drained since the fight earlier.

"I can't. My mana is gone," said Rendi. "We need to find another way!"

Suddenly Remi shouted. "No, don't think about me" he said. "You guys hurry up and go. Darren-sama is waiting for you."

"But, Remi-" Rendi was about to refuse, but Remi still insisted on asking her to leave.

"Take Katherine out of here. I'll try to distract them" Remi said.

Remi closed her eyes. "I don't think I'm going to use this again" he said in his heart. He then opened his eyes and pointed his hand towards the skeleton.

"Elemental Water: Shimmering Waves!"

Waves of water waves began to sweep through the skeletons. The skeletons were crushed by the intense water pressure that made the bones fill the place.

This was the first time since Remi last used this magic. From then on, he decided to never use it again. But the current situation is different. He must protect Katherine and Rendi.

"Ah, I remember that time," Inner Remi while attacking the skeletons. "When? It looks like a few years ago."

.

Remi used to be a normal demon. Together with his parents, he lived quietly in the northwestern region of the demon continent. It is in the demon kingdom called Avon.

His life is neither luxurious nor lacking. He lives in moderation. However, he never complains and enjoys life in his own way.

"Come fishing!" Yes, fishing is a hobby Remi. He used to go to the lake and fish with friends his age.

Because of her sociable nature, Remi has many friends. People like his polite and mature nature.

Not infrequently, both parents always get good praise from the neighbors for having educated Ana well.

"Sampeyan duwe chic manners," Praise the people.

Long story short, Remi's parents asked him for help in finding firewood in the forest. Quickly, Remi carried it out.

The journey to the forest does not take much time. The distance from the village was less than two kilometers, and he also often played there with his friends so he had memorized every corner of the forest.

The sunlight enters through the leaves. Forest conditions are so shady and lush. Various shrubs grow densely and tree leaves can touch the ground.

It is not recommended for ordinary people to enter here, because navigating is very difficult. They might get lost. But for Remi, it was all just his everyday playground.

After getting the firewood, Remi tied it to a pliable hanging root and took it while walking home. But what he found was shocking.

On his way back, he saw several humans walking around on horses. Their numbers were overwhelming, and they were seen carrying weapons.

Remi's parents once told him that humans are very dangerous. They love to kill demons and enslave them.

Remi's first instinct was to hide. That way, he might be able to escape their attention. Silently, Remi walked over and hid behind the bushes.

After almost half an hour of hiding, Remi checked back and found that the humans had left.

He breathed a sigh of relief and returned quickly to the village. He can't wait to tell his friends this stressful experience.

"Dheweke mesthi muttered," Remi thought while running as soon as possible.

Once out of the forest, Remi looked up at the orange sky. It doesn't feel like it's afternoon. He spent too much time in the forest.

"I should be very sad, " said Remi slowly. He then set his foot fast.

It was getting dark and the moon was starting to shine bright. But Remi's attention leads to something else.

His eyes were fixed on his village which had been devoured by fire. Bodies were strewn across the streets, and many houses collapsed in flames.

Remi dropped the firewood. His face was pale to see that.

Who burned the village? Remi's head was filled with that question. But then a group of humans emerged from behind the flames with laughter on their faces.

"In this way, there will be a gap. We can attack further" they said to each other.

Remi's face became shocked when she saw one of them carrying her mother violently. They grabbed her hair and let her live.

"This demonic woman exuded a powerful magic aura. But he didn't use it against us" said the man. "Is it possible that he can't use it?"

"Maybe. But if it's true, then it will definitely sell in the slave market" said another human. "Bring him up. Although this is out of plan, but pretty much extra money."

Hearing that, Remi was instantly filled with anger. He ran right at them and attacked them with an axe he had brought from the forest.

He shouted with a feeling of anger filling his mind. While running with an axe swinging towards them, he intended to kill those who had captured his parents.

"Hey boss, look!" Said one of the humans when he realized Remi was running towards them. "There's another one."

Remi swung his axe, but they parried using the sword easily.

"Woah, this one is quite fierce," said the human in a mocking tone.

The man kicked his leg and made Remi fall to the ground easily. Remi fell down and his axe slipped out of his hand.

"Bag, mlyu!" Remi's mother. "Cepet lunga saka!"

Remi stood back up. He ignored his mother's orders. This was the first time he had done the opposite of what his parents had told him.

With a face that was already flushed red from annoyance, Remi reached out her hand unconsciously towards them.

"Eh, what's he doing?" Say that guy.

"Elemental Water: Shimmering Waves!"

Waves of waves shot out from his hands and shot towards those people. The person standing at the very front instantly died from the intense pressure of the water breaking his limbs.

The friends of the man were immediately shocked. They had underestimated this demon and they immediately raised their weapons.

"Damn. He can actually master the water element" said one man with a grumbling tone. "Hurry and catch him!"

Those people immediately surrounded him. Remi tried to cast the same spell again, but this was the first time he used magic. He was not used to it and he was still too rigid in casting spells.

One of them swung his hand and hit Remi's head firmly. Remi almost lost his consciousness, but he managed to survive.

"Elemental Water: Shimmering Wave!" Remi threw the same waves at the man.

But a friend of his appeared with a shield and protected the man.

As Remi's attention was directed at the man, another man took turns beating him from a different direction. Remi almost fainted. His eyes began to twitch, but he tried to stay awake.

Remi sends a physical blow to the person's stomach causing him pain. But he is still outnumbered.

"I have to attack efficiently," Remi thought as he looked at the people around him. "It is possible to attack them all simultaneously using one attack."

As those people were intending to attack him simultaneously, Remi immediately cast his spell.

"Elemental Water: Shimmering Wave!"

He managed to knock them out, but the impact of his attack was weaker than before. He can't even kill them. Was it because he was angry before?

Seems not. This is because he is dizzy. His head felt heavy and his eyes seemed to be myopic from the blow on his head earlier. He must quickly resolve this now.

"I need to get this over with as soon as possible!" Inner Remi while focusing his strength.

Remi's out-of-control rage and determination magically takes over her body. He did not even know since when he could use magic, but now a powerful magic stream was flowing within him automatically.

One of those people started to panic as he felt the powerful energy accumulated on Remi's body.

"Boss, he exuded a powerful aura. How'this?" Her speech. "It's likely that it'll let out the same waves - or maybe it's stronger."

Another one replied. "Damn it, we have to find another way" he said. He then turned his head towards Remi's mother who was detained. "Or maybe we can fool him."

The man pulls Remi's mother, drags her in front of Remi and takes her hostage. He even pointed his knife at Remi's mother's neck.

Remi's attention was immediately distracted. He gave up his concentration and his mind went straight to save his mother.

He turned and wanted to attack. But when he let his guard down, someone was already preparing to attack him from behind. The man raised his sword and intended to kill him.

Remi was aware of their plan. He turned back and attacked the person who was about to attack him from behind.

"Elemental Water: Shimmering Wave!"

His attack was not very powerful, but it was enough to knock the human far enough away.

The person holding Remi's mother hostage instantly moved forward when he saw Remi's attention turned in the other direction. He swung his sword, but Remi's mother shouted.

"Remi, lookout!" His shouting.

Remi immediately turned around and saw that person was already in front of him.

"You're done! You won't have time to cast a spell" said the man with a proud smile on his face.

Remi won't be able to fire that fast, but he still has other weapons.

Maakk! He launched a powerful punch right into the person's chest. He was in pain and fell to the ground.

"Boss!" Shouted friend.

The man immediately ordered, "Hurry, kill his mother!" His shouting. "He's got a strong resolve, it's because of his mother!"

Another immediately pulled out his knife and ran towards the mother who was still trying to warn Remi to leave immediately.

Remi ran to save his mother. But his already twinkling eyes and also his dim consciousness, made Remi so unable to concentrate properly.

He immediately grabbed his mother and pushed her away, while his right hand moved toward the other direction.

"Elemental Water: Shimmering Wave!" This time Remi put all his energy into killing the man.

A strong wave of water came out from Remi's wrist. With her myopic eyes, Remi saw the body of the person in front of her split into pieces.

"Bas hard," Suddenly a voice whispered in his ear. It was not his mother's voice, and he became panicked upon hearing it.

His mother should be nearby by now. But even the voices of others are heard.

"I'm saying hello?" Inner Remi. He opened his eyes and saw the man he was supposed to kill standing beside him.

He looked the other way, in the direction he saw the pieces of the body earlier.

"I-Mom-" Remi couldn't believe what she saw.

But Remi's head is getting heavier. He had already used all his strength for that last futile attack. His eyes gradually grew farsighted and he finally fainted.

After that, Remi's calm and cheerful life changed. He was captured by the men and sold as a slave.

From then on, Remi tries to accept the fact that her mother died at her own hands. And he swore not to use the magic that had taken his mother's life.

In his new life as a slave, Remi often moved employers. To him, all employers looked the same in his eyes. They are only humans who like to use weak creatures.

Due to their poor treatment, Remi begins to think that all humans are the same. They are evil beings who like to see the suffering of other beings. They are selfish, greedy, and always full of lust.

Sometimes, Remi likes to rebel against her employer. But in the end, he was arrested and tortured. Although he could master water magic, Remi never intended to use it.

But in Remi's life history, there was one employer who was most memorable to him. He was the only human who treated Remi well.

A few years ago, he was bought by a young man while he was in Aergium. The young man was dressed fashionable and strange. Remi initially thought that he would treat himself just like any other employer.

"Sir, do you want to put a slave necklace on her?" Ask the seller to the young man.

The young man turned to Remi for a moment and looked at her. "It doesn't seem to be necessary" he answered.

The seller warned him that Remi often rebelled against his former employers. But the young man did not seem to be bothering about it.

"I don't have a problem with that" he said.

After the young man paid with some gold coins, he approached Remi and extended his hand.

"You're Remi, huh?" Even the young man smiled at him.

Remi paid no heed to the young man's outstretched hand. He just looked at her with a sick look.

"You may not understand my language, yes" said the young man. He then smirked his throat and began to continue, "I'm Johan. Seneng met sampeyan."

Remi was a little surprised when she heard that. This was the first time he had met a human who spoke fluent demon language. Even the accent feels very thick.

"Opo kowe gelem dadi kancaku?" Connect the young man with his hands still outstretched to Remi.

Remi looked at him, but he still did not fully believe her. But at the same time, the young man's eyes reminded him of something. Something that feels lost from Remi.

"I'm Remi. But am I still the same as the old Remi?" Mumbled. "Is the good and friendly Remi gone? Have I forgotten my identity?"

Unknowingly, Remi nodded at Johan's question. He even grabbed his hand and stood up.

"I peing. Lan yen sampeyan peng uga, am I supposed to be your dream?" Permi Sahut.

Johan nodded with a smiling face.

From then on, Remi follows Johan wherever he goes.
