Chapters 9. Hide

Reggie's avoiding Mike like the plague. The girl won't be in the same room for more than a minute with Mike. He dodged, feeling very embarrassed by the incident in the kitchen that night. How lustful he returned the man's kiss, even to the point of swiping his body into Mike's burly body. Reggie became red and always cursed when he remembered.

Mike himself looked ordinary, as if nothing had happened. Perhaps it was better that way, so that they would avoid embarrassment and awkwardness.

"I have to find a way to get out of here." Reggie muttered as he looked at the dark night sky from the windowpanes. The guard at the mansion was very strict. The person who came in and out was thoroughly examined and confirmed to be the occupant of the large mansion.

The sound of footsteps entering the room where he stood made Reggie slip his body behind the wide curtains of window glass. The length of the curtains that almost reached the floor made his body perfectly hidden. He did not want to meet Mike, feeling he could not face the man until now.

"It's been confirmed, Mike. The man Jack Langton always met in the hospital was Jonathan. Even though they deleted the treatment data. Yet our men managed to investigate and get details about the man." Alex opened his voice as they had reached one of the rooms to relax in the mansion.

Mike frowned and sat down on one of the couches, facing the wide-screened TV in front of him, turning on the TV and crossing his legs. Alex followed sitting on one of the sofas.

Jonathan is the father of Jack Langton. Erland Langton's brother, Derek's father. The man is known to have died from being shot and his body was not found because it had been burned.

The incident occurred when Jonathan made an ambush and attack on Arthur Sky who is a sworn enemy of the Langton family. But Jonathan apparently miscalculated when he thought the Arthur Sky family who had just returned from his wife's funeral would be weak and careless because it was being overwhelmed with sadness. The attack turned into a massacre of his own people.

Arthur Sky, who was in a state of mourning, had apparently prepared a layered guard to protect his family. As the shooting towards the caravan returning from the funeral occurred, the second-tier guards flocked Jonathan's men, finishing off his men with nothing left over, including Jonathan himself.

Arthur's men then burn and blow up all the mercenaries Jonathan attacked his family. When Derek and his father Erland came to the scene, they only found car skeletons that had all been blackened by the burning charred. There's nothing left of Jonathan Langton.

Jonathan is still alive. Somehow Jack's bastard son whom he never considered saving his life, and they have made a move, has finished off the Sky family in their own mansion, but, attack him with nothing left but two girls Arthur's daughter Amy and her bodyguard Reggie.

Mike knows Erland has mandated that Derek reconcile with Arthur Sky. The man is aging and the cause of the hereditary hostility has long since never been revealed. Misconceptions between their great-grandfathers were eventually hostile and caused the two families to always be at odds even until their grandchildren. However Erland had seen everything useless, only causing the deep sorrow of Greta. The adoptive brother adopted by Erland's father chose to leave the Langton family when his heart chose the Arthur he loved. Erland can't do anything.

"We're losing track of him now. Their last information was heading for Sanchez territory. Hills in the north. But you know .. Our people can no longer move when they get to Sanchez's land."

Mike nodded. "That man will shoot at us when he enters his territory."

"Yes, Sanchez used to apply for cooperation on the sale of their company's weapons to Erland. But when it was rejected outright, then they were also blocked without cause. Cannot conduct any trade or transaction in our territory. Sanchez got desperate and met Erland, begging to be given discretion in our region in order to find information about someone. But somehow Erland still refused.I feel strange about this, but we can't question our leader's decision it wasn't." Alex frowned before continuing.

"You know why he did that? Erland is very open when it comes to business expansion matters and to my knowledge their goods are notoriously good."

"I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing this has something to do with Greta Sky .. because as far as I'm concerned, Arthur Sky did the same to Sanchez."

"I think Derek should be told, Mike."

Mike nodded at Alex's words. He lowered his head, then began to squint his forehead.

"By the way, why do you look so tangled lately? Looks like you're lacking a break ...." Alex looked at Mike who kept on frowning him.

"I just don't sleep enough."

"You'd better get some sleep now" Alex suggested. Mike agreed.

"Yes .. but I'm going home to my apartment. I'll be gone in a minute."

Alex nodded. "I'll stay then ...."

Alex leaves behind Mike who is still sitting on the couch. Mike was eager to see the girl, at most he was already sleeping in his room, but seeing her meant inviting trouble. Mike took a deep breath. Trying to enjoy the spectacle in front of him, but his thoughts were like refusing, until he gave up and stood off the TV.

"I'd better get a cup of coffee" Mike murmured.

Reggie hears when Mike says he is leaving, which means the man is leaving the mansion. Suddenly a plan formed in his head. He could sneak into the man's car, right, then leave the mansion. If he leaves now, he can sneak in without being caught, because the man is in the kitchen asking for a cup of coffee, he has time to sneak in and hide into Mike's car.
