Chaptre 39. Lucius Contact

Mike stood in front of the glass in his office. High-rise skyscraper Langton. Inc where he served and sought his identity since adolescence.He never felt his life was lacking as long as he was beside Erland and Derek Langton. But a sense of emptiness he felt in his chest due to Reggie's departure made Mike realize the girl's meaning in his heart. He searches for Reggie not only because of the obligations Derek and Amy put on his shoulders, but because he himself wants to make sure the black-haired girl is okay.

Mike's been calling Lucius. Wanted to make an appointment a few days ago when he set foot back to his apartment. But the man was busy, he said he was in the Garden Mansion. Where Margaretha Langton grew up, questioned the old people she interacted with.

Mike was forced to wait and today Lucius was coming to him. The man called and said he was going to visit Mike in his office, so Mike didn't have to bother coming to Lucius' office.

The knock on the door made Mike look over. See Evangeline log in with a file in hand.

"I want you to see this." Eve placed the file on Mike's desk, then looked at the lethargic face and sleep deprivation that was clearly printed on the man's face.

"Calm down Big Brother. We'll find him."

Somehow Eve gave words of comfort. Making Mike's forehead wrinkle.

"Don't wonder so. Anyone who sees you will know you are very worried about the girl. She means something to you ...." Eve's slow voice was not answered by Mike.

"We'll find her like we found Amy. Rest assured ...."

Eve is back to entertaining. Convince Mike with a firm and optimistic face. Mike finally smiled.

"By the way .. There's a guest for you." Eve told him and walked back to the door.

"I'll tell him to come in, but don't forget, read the file Big Brother! " Eve winked at the file on the table that did not make Mike interested in learning it at all.

Lucius entered a few seconds later. Directly sitting on the sofa and smiling looking at Mike who is scissored in front of the wide glass office space.

It looks the same as the last time Mike saw it. Long black hair tied behind the neck and one sparkling diamond earring on the left ear.

"Yes .. sit comfortably, think of it as your own home." Mike quipped, making Lucius chuckle softly.

"Find something there?" Mike's question was then taken and he began to approach, taking a seat on the sofa in front of Lucius.

"I've made sure ... Marinna came after Margaretha got married, not before that. Jason, the butler at the Garden Mansion confirmed that. No one met Margaretha when she was the adopted daughter of the Langton family. Margaretha grew up in the mansion, if Marinna came and asked for her protection, then the people there would know."

Mike agreed .

"In addition, the last information my father managed to obtain before everything was erased and the veiled veil put on by Erland and Arthur was the information that Marinna came to the Langton Mansion to look for Isabella."

Lucius frowned considering his father's efforts were completely blocked by Erland without cause. Isabella was the name of Margaretha when she was alive in the parlour with Marinna. She was adopted by the Langton family.

"May I ask, Lucius?" Mike looked at his interlocutor.

"Of course."

"Do you know why Marinna's looking for Isabella? He ran away from your family, didn't he?" Mike set his tone to stay calm and flat.

"Of course because he was terrified and he came looking for the only friend he could trust like his own brother to ask for protection."

"Why is he afraid of Lucius?"

"Because he brought the only daughter of the Sanchez family! He knew my father was going to hunt him because he had escaped his daughter!"

Lucius' words were smeared with a thick feeling of anger. Makes Mike more astonished and voice his question.

"What are the advantages of Marinna running away your sister Lucius? Did he ask for a ransom? Why do you think he took refuge in Isabella and held your sister by her side. Wouldn't it be easier for her to return your sister and live in safety with her best friend. Aren't you just looking for that little girl ...."

"Marinna took her because the little girl was her daughter. He ran away with his daughter who was also my father's daughter."

Lucius' quiet voice surprised Mike. Didn't expect the man to finally utter the conjecture that had been in Mike's mind for a long time.

"Your sister .. from a different mother."

Mike's words were greeted by the man's nod.

"The woman made a mistake by running away. He's gotta pay for it."

The horror in Lucius' face makes Mike realize there is a hidden grudge in Sanchez's past against Marinna. He should be more careful to reveal these secrets one by one.

"Why he was wrong, Lucius. The blood of the flesh."

The cold and cruel face painted before Mike made him shudder. Lucius looked like he wasn't in this room. His eyes are far away and the jawline tells Mike that something terrible will happen to Marinna and her daughter if they are found by Lucius.

After waiting in minutes that felt like a few hours, Lucius was finally seen breathing out and putting on a normal face again. He raised an eyebrow apologizing to Mike for his ignited emotions.

"I'm sorry .. I'm easily ignited if I remember that woman."

Mike nodded, trying to keep his face flat and calm.

"Why do you need to call me, Mike? You asked to meet a few days ago." Lucius turned the talk away from the development of his search for Marinna.

"Derek said I should help you find Marinna. I remember you saying a long time ago that your father had information that Marinna was last seen coming to the Langton Mansion to see Erland in search of Isabella, before her entire access was forcibly terminated."

Lucius nodded and looked at Mike interested.

"really. I said it again, too."

"May I know where your father got that information? I will help you from within the clan. This family is very large with several families who faithfully serve in it. Who knows if anyone remembers Marinna and her daughter's whereabouts."

Lucius nodded.

"Dad found out about it from someone who came from the Langton family. Someone named Rudolf Eliazar."

Instantly Mike's face lost its hue. Lightning like the middle grabbed his head and made it burn. Both of his hands were trembling and his gaze lost focus.

Eliazar .. a name forbidden to be mentioned in the Langton Clan. The generations of faithful family elders served to remove the name as if the person had never been in the Langton family. Now the man in front of him mentioned it very clearly. It was as clear as Mike's mind that knew full well who Rudolf Eliazar was.
