Chapters 51. Where are you?

Mike looked at Lucius who was sitting on the sofa comfortably. The man no longer seemed to put on the alert face like he had when they first interacted. He chatted with Derek like a business partner who had been in a relationship for a long time.

"I heard you're home. I've been wanting to see you for a long time. But some work is holding me back." Lucius gave his smile and it made Mike think back to Reggie.

After knowing they were brothers, why did all these male moves remind me of him.

"Yes .. I haven't been able to go see you either." said Mike .

"I kept Mike busy with some work. He's a little busy coming home from Snake River." Derek makes excuses for Mike. Though he knew Mike who wouldn't go to see Lucius.

"Is there anything interesting? Something important?" Lucius looked toward Mike who looked back and focused on his two black eyes. Mike raking ...

Regina's Eyes ....

" Huffhhhh .. is just something we already know. Marinna Hasting comes to Langton Mansion looking for Isabella. He meets Erland who gives him a place for a few days while he confirms Marinna's story that he was Isabella's friend in the parlour first. That's when the person who gave your father the information saw Marinna and her daughter."

Lucius nodded. "My father gave him a very large amount of money at that time."

Lucius' words are known to Mike. Derek who heard the word frowned.

Someone gave information in exchange for some money? Is this true? If true meant that person was a traitor .. did that person come from the Langton Clan?

A series of questions rolling through Derek's head made him turn to Mike. But he held his mouth when he saw Mike's expression.

So Mike knows who that person is .. Did Homer tell him?

Derek then shut up and listened. He would not talk about who the traitor was in front of Lucius.

"After Isabella or when it had been renamed Greta Sky confirmed that Marinna was his best friend, Erland sent the mother and son to the Sky Mansion. But something happened on the way. They were stopped and fired upon ...." Mike continued and saw Lucius surprised. Lucius gulped before speaking.

"Don't tell me they're both dead, Mike." Lucius' voice sounded raucous.

"No. Both were not dead at the time. Only the little girl was shot in her right shoulder, Erland pulled them back to the Langton Mansion."

Lucius swerved this time. "Gina .. got shot," he hissed slowly.

Mike and Derek were looking at Lucius when he mentioned the little girl's name.

"Gina? Is that the little girl's name, Lucius?" Derek asked his question inquisitively. Lucius flinched, then gagged towards Derek.

"Ah .. I never told you. My sister's name is Regina. Regina Sanchez's. I call him Gina."

Derek and Mike looked at Lucius with flat faces. As much as possible, they hide their heart's hammering and hide the fact that they know very well who Regina really is.

"Then what happened?" I can't wait for Lucius to come back to Mike with a question.

"Erland contacted Greta Sky .. who came in person with her husband Arthur Sky to pick up Marinna and her daughter" Mike said.

"So they've been at Arthur Sky's place all along. But Amy didn't seem to know anything when I asked her about Marinna and her daughter. Did he ever tell you anything about this, Derek?"

Derek immediately shook his head.

"Don't mind Marinna and her daughter. About his own mother who is the adoptive child of the Langton family he recently found out. I don't think Arthur and Greta told Amy a single secret. To protect their daughter's safety."

Derek cringing. Amy does not yet know that the Regina Lucius is looking for is Reggie, a bodyguard who has been with her since she was a child. Amy was a baby when Reggie and her mother came to the Langton Mansion.

"Umm .. I don't know Lucius. These few weeks he's not feeling well. Her pregnancy made her vomit and get tired faster."

Lucius looked surprised at Derek.

"G ... Amy pregnant? Well ... You're gonna be a dad any minute." Lucius smiled broadly.

Derek returned his smile by nodding and turning towards Mike.

"Yes .. and the feeling was incredible. I think you should find a wife soon."

"Hfttt .. You can't put that idea into our brains, Derek. We are quite happy with the status as bachelors" said Lucius amused.

Mike smiled amusedly.

"He was drunk and saw the world with his eyes. It just suits you, Derek. We love this bachelor status.” Mike chimed in on Lucius' words.

"Yeah ... the most desirable bachelor today." Lucius and Mike laughed at the same time.

"Most hunted and in demand. You're off the girls' list, Derek." Lucius returned.

Derek sounded snorting.

"I don't mind getting kicked off their list. I got my Amy and it was an absolute win for me."

Mike and Lucius smiled at the Langton Clan's family leader. He married his father's enemy's daughter and was happy with his new wife.

Mike remembered Derek's wife's companion. Amy knew Reggie all her life.

Was Reggie also not told any secrets by Arthur and Greta? No ... Reggie knew Greta was Steve Langton's adopted son. Reggie knows the complicated relationship between Erland, Arthur and Greta. Reggie knows more than Amy. Which means Arthur doesn't keep secrets to Reggie like he kept them from his daughter Amy.

Mike turned his brain and thought hard.

If the girl leaves and intends to face her past by confronting her, where will she go? If he wants to hide himself? Where the hell's he going?

Suddenly Mike re-thought of the shooting of Reggie and his mother.

"Lucius .. did your father ever tell you about the shooting of Marinna and her daughter at the time? I mean is ... Hmmm ...." Mike suddenly stopped and cleared his throat to wet his dry throat.

"Is that my father's order? Is that what you want to ask, Mike?" Lucius connected Mike's disconnected question.

"Well .. I thought maybe your father stopped them from taking Regina."

"No. I just found out the shooting came from your mouth. My father never told me and I'm sure he didn't. He won't jeopardize Regina's safety. He wanted to find her and bring her home, not kill her."

That long explanation made Mike nod. Lucius is telling the truth. So there was only one more name he needed to investigate. If it wasn't Eloy, then the second person to ask about Marinna back then would have been Bertrand ....

The name Homer almost forgot. Mike will investigate, he will not miss the slightest thing including one person who according to Homer is Eloy's men.
