Chapters 16. Find Amy's

They arrive at the mansion garden with the guards Derek brought. Jason explains that Amy went with him to the vegetable farm just like the girl used to. But he said goodbye to go home first to Bess, the working woman on the plantation.

Jason who came home later looks very sorry, why he did not look for the girl first after arriving at the mansion. She thinks Amy is resting in her room. But until dinner was served, the girl did not come down from her room. So that makes Jason worry and check on the girl in the room.

That's when Jason realized that Amy wasn't in the mansion. Every waiter questioned shook his head when asked if anyone had seen Amy. No one had seen Amy all afternoon.

Jason tells that he left Amy with Bess while picking fresh vegetables on the slope. He had seen the girl waving a smile from a distance when he saw her down the slope. Amy tells Bess that she will go home first and asks Jason to deliver the message.

They decided to go to Bess' house in the small village. Reggie looks prepared and will follow them when they leave. Mike is forced to subdue her and lock her up in one of the mansion's rooms, then lock the girl from the outside. Two men were put in place to keep him from escaping. Jasonpun was instructed to guard and watch over him. The screams and insults that the girl made for Mike were heard. The swearing that the girl threw made Jason shake his head.

Mike didn't want to take the risk. Reggie has to be patient and wait for them to find Amy. He has to concentrate on helping Derek, not getting distracted because he has to watch over the girl if she is invited to come find Amy.

Derek took his guards towards the plantation. Several helicopters they were carrying were seen circling above the plantation area. Some of their people had descended and searched around the forest. Derek takes his two bodyguards and Mike to the small village where his plantation worker Bess, who is seen talking to Amy one last time before she disappears.

Mike felt their presence in the woman's small living room intimidated the residents of the house. He decides to go out and let Derek interrogate the woman, the little girl's son looks scared to see them coming to the house.

Derek finds out that Amy often asks about the small village where Bess and most of the plantation workers live. He also asked the direction of a small path in the forest that Bess used to come to the plantation.

Mike who was waiting outside the door listened carefully. From the results of the quick examination of his men, they knew there were no signs of abduction. Chances are Amy escaped, or got lost in the woods. Both are unfortunate, because they both have a bad effect on Derek. Derek gets very angry when he finds out that the girl is trying to escape, but it is also very worrying if the girl is just lost in the forest.

Mike learns that heavy rain with lightning bolts has just struck the area for a few hours, now leaving only a drizzling low rinai that still falls in the dark of the night. Where the girl was in the woods if she was lost. Not to mention the threat of wild animals such as snakes and others.

"Come on... We have to tell, Derek." Mike steps back to Bess' house followed by his men. He knocked on the open door, asking for attention from those inside.

"You'd better come with me and see something our people find, Derek." Mike interrupts the interrogation that Derek did. He saw that Bess was pale and seemed restless. His frightened son curled up in his arms. He took a deep breath. Derek looks terrible if he is overwhelmed with anger. Mike knew the woman didn't know anything.

Derek immediately stood up and rushed out.

Mike steps in to meet Bess who still looks scared. He smiled soothingly.

"I'm sorry, Bess. We came and scared you. Derek's just agitated and doesn't know where Miss Amy is. He was very worried. And you were the last person to talk to him before he disappeared. So we have to ask you to investigate where Miss Amy is. Again we apologize."

The heartfelt words from the big man who was the right hand of the Langton family leader made Bess finally able to sing a little smile.

"I know, Mister. I'm just a little freaked out because Mr. Langton broke through and came here asking me about Miss Amy. I really don't know anything... The kind-hearted lady just told me to send Jason a message that he'd come home first."

"Yes... I heard your explanation, Bess. And we believe in you. Please forgive our behavior again... Your son is also frightened."

Bess smiled. "I hope Miss Amy is okay, sir. Nothing bad happened to her."

Bess' words were heard by Derek who finally turned and stepped to meet the woman who had been standing with Mike by the door.

"I'm really sorry to scare you, Bess. I also really hope Amy's okay."

The words of his great master who unexpectedly apologized to him made Bess so stammered.

Mike walked down the wet ground and moved to get rid of the tree branches that blocked his path.2 men followed on his left and right side. The flashlight seemed to sparkle through the darkness of the night from several places in the forest. Their men moved apart, looking up, Mike saw the helicopter flying around the area.

The noise not far from where he was looking made Mike turn and run followed by two of his men behind. Their flashlight glow shrieked in the dark of the night. Mike stopped at the edge of the cliff, then looked down. The flashlight and lighting of their men there made Mike see clearly when Derek turned Amy over and examined her thoroughly. The man then opened his coat and wrapped it on Amy's body. Mike comes down to them, Derek picks up Amy and starts carrying her. He sees Mike and immediately orders the Langton family doctor.

"Mike! immediately call Barkley to the mansion!"
