Chapters 88. Take leave

"You mean Adrian proposed?" Derek raised both eyebrows asking Lucius. They had just finished a meeting in the meeting room and were now sitting on Derek's comfortable office sofa. Lance who was standing not far from there only listened to his Master's conversation with a flat face. While Mike just holds his own jaw with his eyes down looking at a file in front of him.

"Adrian wants to get engaged first..." Lucius glanced at Mike who did not raise his face from the report he was holding.

"You agreed?" Derek glanced at Mike who was still silent.

Lucius shrugged his shoulders as he spoke." There is no reason to object. I think Adrian's a good and responsible man."

"Did Reggie agree? Have you asked him?" Ask Derek again.

"Why ask Gina's opinion? The important thing is Adrian loves and will keep the girl completely." Lucius laughed in his heart, for Adrian was not his sister. He did not say that Adrian's application was not Reggie. Derek had assumed that and Lucius had no intention of straightening it out. He was only curious about the reaction of the gray-eyed man nearby.

Derek was speechless at Lucius' words, Mike still did not say anything. Derek was so anxious to step on the man's foot at this moment.

"I think you better ask your sister?" Derek said again. Lucius shakes.

"For what? It doesn't need an opinion from him." Lucius said arrogantly.

Mike did not chimed in on the conversation, but in his heart he condemned Lucius' decision. Gina has promised to obey every word or decision of her brother, while Mike still needs time to prepare everything.

"When will Adrian come to propose?" Ask Derek.

"Maybe three more days ..then the engagement is one week after. Now Adrian is finishing some important things at his job so that everything is done at the engagement."

Lucius glanced and a slight scratch on the forehead of the man who was still pretending to read the report nearby made Lucius sure the man was listening.

"Ehm........Don't forget to invite us later, Lucius. Amy will be looking forward to the show."

"Of course.......Um, Mike...You're coming too, aren't you?" Lucius asked ostensibly.

Mike lifted his eyes. Those gray eyes stared piercingly with extreme coldness. Lucius felt amused.

Want to kill with your eyes Mike!?

"I don't think so." Just a short answer, then the man looked back down at the sheet he was holding. Lucius looked at Derek who took a deep breath.

Mike took a sip of black coffee from his cup and glanced at his phone ringing on the table. He is neat and will leave early, He will finish some things before carrying out the plan he had last night. The decision he made after hearing Lucius' arrogant words soon made Regina engaged to Adrian.

Derek's name on the screen made him raise an eyebrow, astonished that Derek had called him this morning.

"Hello..." Mike picked up the call.

"You awake?" Ask Derek stupidly.

Derek laughed at Mike's words that said it." I won't be mad at you, because I'm happy today. I'm calling just to let you know I'm not going to the office today. Please handle everything."

"I'm ready to go. What was? what good news makes you so happy you want to take a day off?" Mike asked curiously.

"Ehm ...That's a secret." Derek chuckled. Mike pulled his phone away from his ear and stared at it, astonished by Derek's reply. After a few seconds, he put his phone back in his ear.

"Well....I'm gonna finish all my work at the office before I take my leave, Derek." Mike decides to tell Derek immediately about his desire to take a leave of absence.

"The holidays? You're gonna take a leave of absence? Why suddenly?" Derek frowned in wonder. Mike never took time off, the man was so workaholic that he never took time off, because he did not know what the holiday was for. Mike prefers to work.

"I'll finish all my work and then take my leave. You should've gone in and arranged everything yourself when I had taken my cut, Derek."

"alright, fine......But tell me why are you taking Mike's leave? what are you gonna do?" His voice sounded very curious.

This time Mike chuckles and replies to Derek with a secret back." That's a secret, Derek"

Derek swore to hear Mike reply back by not answering his question. Then came the sound of Amy scolding him for swearing.

"You made Amy scold me" Derek complained.

"Your own fault for swearing near him." Mike's Chuckles.

"I won't let you take a leave if you don't tell me why you want to take a day off." Derek said excitedly. Feeling able to pressure Mike with the threat.

"I'll take my cut after finishing some of my work. I was just telling Derek, not asking for your permission." Mike laughed before turning off his phone.

He believes that now Derek is cursing again and his wife will return to scold him. Little Erland was already clever at imitating and the speech of someone the little boy had heard was imitated back very well. Including the words of his father who sometimes cussed near his son.

Mike finished his coffee which was only a little stay, then got up and stepped towards the apartment door. Nick was waiting for him outside to take him to the office building. He will be overtime these two days.finish everything to then start carrying out his own plan.
