Chapters 12. Worried

Mike stood waiting in Derek's office. The man will be there soon. Mike called him home. The latest facts about Jack Langton should be known to Derek immediately.

Mike is forced to disrupt Derek's plans to persuade Arthur's daughter to reconcile with him. Derek says he'll be here soon, leaving Amy Sky at the Garden Mansion and going home alone to Langton's main mansion.

The sound of the door opening and the footsteps entering the room made Mike turn his head. He already knows who is coming. Derek frowned looking at her while walking towards the back of the table.

"How many days don't you sleep, Mike!? You look pathetic." Derek asked as he pulled up his work chair and sat down.

"Yeah ..this is what you get when you force a stray cat to comply with your wishes, and at the same time lose sight of the target you should be watching" said Mike sourly.

Derek seemed interested in the word stray cat spoken by Mike, he immediately remembered the bodyguard Amy.

"Don't tell me you got clawed back." Derek sneering. But Mike did not discuss the insinuations. He responded with a flat face.

"My sleepless days and nights seem fruitless because now your cousin is out of control. But I did find an interesting fact, a fact about someone your cousin had hidden and periodically met before he finally realized he was being watched."

"Who?" Derek squinted his eyes at Mike.

"A victim of infighting after the funeral of Margaretha's wife Arthur. The man we thought had been burned to ashes ...." Mike folded his hands in front of his chest, looking at Derek's change in face. The face hardened.

"Jonathan," Derek hissed. Mike nodded slowly.

"Somehow he hid himself from your father's knowledge." Mike looked at Derek who looked at his desk.

Jonathan Langton intends to kill Arthur Sky's family by slaughtering the family's entourage after exiting the burial area from Arthur's wife. But the plan turned into a massacre for Jonathan's group.

Arthur Sky has set up a layered escort to protect his family. So when the ambush and shooting ensue, his men who have prepared easily finish off Jonathan and his hit men. They burned everything until all that was left was the blackened skeletons of cars burned.

Derek and his father Erland who arrived late when it found no signs of Jonathan's whereabouts so that Erland's brother was declared to have been burned.

"We need to find Jack and figure out the plan, Mike." Derek looked hard at Mike. His thoughts revolve around trying to hide Amy Sky from Jack's now free pursuit and coupled with the reality of Jonathan who turns out to be alive.

"Yes .. that's what I think. Jack's hired criminals have been watching this mansion. They find out that Regina's bodyguard Amy Sky is here. Maybe they think we brought Amy Sky to this mansion, too. It's only a matter of time when they find out that girl you're hiding somewhere else." Mike rubbed his tired face. He walked to the window. Stare out into the night sky without stars.

Mike is unaware of Reggie's name with Regina. Derek wanted to ask why he called Reggie by that name, but he held his mouth.

"How did they know that the girl was here?" ask Derek.

"That stupid girl is going to run away and run away from here. He endangers his own life after being caught by Jack's hitman outside the mansion. Fortunately, we are still being chased and saved by our people. But his leg was shot."

"Again!?" Derek raised both eyebrows. Reggie's leg was also shot during the massacre that occurred at the Sky Mansion first.

"Yes, but thankfully just ripped off his muscles without damaging other tissues. The pain she felt I think she deserved it!" Mike grunting.

"I think your Regina's keeping you a little busy, Mike .. or I'll just call Reggie, like Amy's calling her ...." Derek assessed Mike's facial expression. Seeing the slightest change in that face. Looks like Mike just realized that he called Reggie by his real name Regina, the man rubbed his neck in shame.

Derek hid his smile. Looks like there's been a lot going on between her confidant and Amy Sky's bodyguard.

"I'm sorry to you, Mike. That girl seems a bit troublesome and becomes a hindrance to your work. We can make other arrangements for her to free you from this obligation." Derek provokes Mike's reaction from his words and he succeeds, Mike looks angry and raises his voice.

"There are no other arrangements for her! I'll keep an eye on that stray cat, Derek!"

Derek raised both his hands, he grinned, happy to find Mike's reaction as he expected.

"I'm just trying to make it easy for you."

Mike turns to grin at Derek. "If you want ease, just leave Arthur's daughter to Jack. This whole thing's gonna be over. Let Jack get his revenge on the girl."

Mike grinned wider and saw Derek who had stood up finished hearing his words. He caught Mike with a sharp look.

"Give Amy ...," Derek sighed

"Yes. Doesn't Jack just want Amy Sky? Princess Arthur, a nemesis of the Langton family. This matter will be solved by handing the girl over." Lure Mike again.

"What did you say!?" Derek yelling. But he realized after seeing the face of Mike who seemed very entertained can provoke his emotions.

"It seems like I'm not the only one busy with those stray cats! You also seem to be very busy with the girl you boxed at the Garden Mansion, Derek," Mike said.

Derek laughed out loud.

"You!" He did not finish his speech. Still laughing amusedly realizing Mike was glaring at him.

"We have to keep an eye on the two girls with extra care, Derek. I'm worried that Jonathan's moving. That man can be even more cruel than his son Jack."

Derek nodded at Mike's words.

"You're right, Mike. These two guys aren't gonna be safe while Jack and Jonathan are out there, and we can't really figure out what they're up to."
