Chapters 16. Pretty girl

A cheerful Sunday at Langton Main Mansion. Amy was busy with her two sons. Erland who seemed to run among the women who were lifting food and drinks to a long table that had been arranged in the field next to the pool. Reggie laughs while holding Marie watching Amy run after Erland while holding Arthur.

"Come ... Let me hold my little daughter," Mike reached out to take Marie from Reggie's sling.

"Mom will help prepare food there, so you carry Daddy first yes .." said Mike while peeping Marie's cheek. Marie laughed funnyly as her father dyed her cheeks. The baby caught Mike's cheek with both hands.

"Ah, if your Uncle had come home, he would have loved to come here and play with you" Reggie said.

"Don't Worry .. Just let Lucius spend some time there, maybe something interested him."

"At what? vacant land that has been abandoned and not taken care of?" ask Reggie.

"We don't know Honey. It's possible that he found the source of something more interesting than just land."

Reggie stared intently at her husband. Mike's tone seemed to imply something.

"Michael Eliazar's ... Tell me if you know anything about my brother ...." Reggie squinted at those gray eyes.

Mike laughed, "What I know but you don't know Regina .. There's nothing I keep secret,"

"You sure?" ask Reggie.

"Yes .. go. Help Eve, Cecil and the others" said Mike.

Reggie finally leaves Mike who immediately picks up his phone and calls Lance.

"Hello, Lance ...." Marie who was in her father's arms immediately rambled, as if she wanted to talk on the phone, her plump hand reaching into the phone in Mike's ear.

"Marie .. wait, Tiny. Let Daddy talk to Uncle Lance,"

Across the street, Lance chuckles at the thought of Marie taking her father's cell phone.

"It's Lucius' fault. He used to make video calls every day with my daughter. If he can't come to see her in person, then he'll talk to her via video call. And now my daughter's like waiting for her, every time our cell phone rings, she'll move snatch as if it's her Uncle calling."

"He misses Mr. Lucius" said Lance.

"Looks like. And now what's that guy doing there?"

"I got word, he's been heading to the plantation this morning, sir," Lance said.

"Yes, Mr. .. and he brought the two men ...."

Mike was silent for a moment. He knew what Lance meant by the two men Lucius had brought. Brad has sent a photo of the beautiful girl with his blue-eyed brother, the girl looks beautiful with pale blue eyes with very pliable eyelashes, even though it looks like the girl is too skinny in Mike's eyes.

"Lance .. I need to talk, but not through a cell phone. Can you come here?"

"Good, Sir. I will come to the Eliazar Mansion now" Lance replied.

"No, Lance. Not in my mansion. Come to Langton's main mansion. We're here now. I'm waiting for."

Then without a closing speech, Mike turned off the phone. He deliberately knew Lance would object to coming to Langton Mansion. Especially if he knew Cecilia was here too. The two men look like a cartoon character of a cat and mouse that is often watched by Erland.

Lance looked at his phone. Coming to Langton's main mansion? What are they all gathering there for? If all the members of their clan came, then it was likely that Cecilia Damario was also there.

Lance was not avoiding Cecilia, but ever since the girl commented on her suit which had only one color - black - Lance always felt irritated every time he saw the girl. Lance did not want to meet and was provoked to say something he would regret, only to vent his regret to Cecilia. But Mr. Mike was waiting for him there and the man didn't know the word no.

Taking a deep breath, Lance finally took the car keys and stepped out of the Sanchez Mansion.

"You're going out, sir? " asked Elina, the waiter with the speckled face asked as Lance passed by.

"Yes ... Elina, Mr. Mike calls me, I'll be there" Lance said. Then the man passed by leaving Elina who was astonished by the lethargic tone that came from Lance's voice.

Lance stared at the girl with round eyes who was standing at the end of the passageway of the west wing of Langton's main mansion. Cecilia Damario ... as expected, at the Langton Mansion. The girl's brownish blonde hair flew in the wind, making her tangle in disarray. However, Lance admitted Cecilia Damario still looks beautiful even with tangled hair.

Lance, leaning against the wall of the back building, turned his eyes to look around and found out that Mr. Eloyp was there.

It would be hard through this, let alone those present, those elders would start to execute their matchmaking plans again.

Lance looked down at the shirt he was wearing, grimacing that even now that he was wearing a black shirt, Miss Damario would have him cut up again if they met.

What can I do .. At least my shirt is not pure black. There's a little bit of the white line ....

"Brad sent you a photo?" ask Mike.

"Yes, Sir. A girl and a boy. It was where that girl Mr. Lucius had been staying the last few days."

Mike pulls out his phone, he opens it and searches for the picture Brad sent him yesterday.

"Where? What did Brad send you?"

Lance opens his phone and shows the picture he received from Brad.

"Sama, Sir. You look? That photo is also what Santoz sent me,"

"You know what Lucius is with this girl ...."

"I don't know, Sir. But Brad and Santoz said Mr Lucius guarded the two and delayed his departure to the estate as he was looking for a way to get the two brothers to be with him. After a back-up incident by two men, the girl finally agreed to go with Mr. Lucius."

"It's interesting, Lance. Lucius never put aside his work for the sake of a girl. Moreover, this girl he did not know."

Lance nodded. "That's what I think too, sir," he said slowly.

""You know ... I've spoken to Uncle Damario .. The possibility of Lucius and Cecil's engagement has been discussed ...."

Lance took a deep breath, but was silent. Let Mike voice his thoughts.

"The girl in this photo ...." Mike reopened his phone screen and glanced at a photo of a girl there.

"The girl in the photo is so pretty." Derek's voice interrupted the two men. Lance looked surprised, while Mike just turned his head and looked towards Derek who had appeared from the side of them.

"Who is he?" derek asked curiously. He grabs Mike's phone and stares at the screen.

"Why is this girl on your phone? Did Reggie know you kept a picture of a pretty girl and you must have been staring at her a lot, right?" Derek chuckles at Mike's sour face.

"You're always annoying to be curious, Derek. Sit down and listen" Mike said.

"Ah, would you like to tell me? Wh why? afraid I'm gonna tell Reggie, right?" derek Goda.

Mike grunting. "There's no secret between us, Derek. You remember that, don't you?"

Derek smiled, then pulled up a chair and sat down. Ready listening.

Mike tells Lance about Lucius who disappeared until the latest news from Brad and Santoz that said Lucius had left for the plantation with the beautiful girl and her sister.

"Goodness .. did he finally find someone who made him fall in love ...."

Derek's words made their eyes automatically look for the figure of Cecilia. The three men stared at Cecilia who was laughing and singing a little to lure Marie who was in Eve's arms to laugh.

"Uncle Frank and Mr. Eloy are already ...." Derek did not continue his words. But Mike and Lance know exactly what the next sentence Derek is going to say.

"Hide this secret until we know the real situation that happened to Lucius. Don't get leaking. It would feel awkward and uneasy if it turned out to be true that Lucius wanted the girl in this photo while our families from both sides had already arranged an engagement plan for him and Cecilia." Derek said in a firm and serious tone.

"True .. tell Brad and Santoz to keep a close eye on Lucius, Lance" said Mike, patting Lance on the shoulder.

"Okay, sir," said Lance.

"What are you talking about?" Reggie came and greeted the three men.

"Oh, just plain stuff, Reggie .." Derek replied as he stood up, followed by Mike who also got up.

"About what?" ask Reggie.

"About the pretty girls" Derek said. Reggie frowned and stared intently at the two men before him.

"Don't get me wrong, Honey. For me, of course, you are the most beautiful. But this is for Lance .. of course he wants to have one." Mike winks at his wife.

Lance turned his head quickly with eyes glaring at Mike. Reggie stared at Lance with speculation and plans in his black eyes.

"Lance .. Come with me, have a chat with the Madam and the young Miss of the Langton family .. I assure you they are all beautiful and sweet ...."

Lance felt himself being pushed into a crocodile nest by two men in front of him. And Lady Regina's smile made her heart melt.

It would be very difficult to escape from this young Madam ....
