Chapters 10. Sneaking Up
Reggie slowly walked out of his room, stumbling. It was late at night, the officers were asleep except for the guards. Nimble without a sound he reached Mike's car. Without a sound he unlocks without difficulty.Reggie grinned, an infinite thank you to Mr. Arthur who taught him all kinds of things. He slipped in and curled up behind the back of the chair.His black clothes disguised his presence in the dark. Reggie adjusted his position to be comfortable, then quietly waited.
Mike arrived 30 minutes later. Get in his car and quickly pass from the Langton family's main mansion. Driving unaware of Reggie's whereabouts behind his chair.
The sound of his phone distracts Mike. He saw Alex calling him. Mike receives a call through a handsfree device, listens to Alex talking across there.
"Yo, Mike .. tell me you're aware of it, man."
"What do you mean, Alex. Realized what?" Mike frowned at Alex's strange question.
Reggie thumped at Mike's words. Am I caught?
"A black car followed you. Drive normally as usual, making him not realize you know his whereabouts."
Mike looked at the car rearview. Looking at the black car meant by Alex and chuckling.
"Did he follow me from the mansion?" ask Mike then.
"Yes ..our guy follows from behind, Mike. Not too close. Be careful!" Alex decides on a call. Mike focused on the road and driving as usual. He waits whether his stalker will attack him or just spy on him.
Reggie breathed a sigh of relief. He's not the one who got caught. But there's a car stalking Mike's car. Reggie was eager to move and peek, but was afraid he would make his escape attempt fail.
Mike arrived at the high-rise building where his apartment was. He went down and gave the key to Valet who had been waiting and smiling to greet him. "Good night, sir."
"Good night Leon." Mike answered his greetings and passed towards the elevator towards his apartment.
Reggie waited as Mike left the officer named Leon and after making sure the man was away, he got out of the car immediately.
Leon who was about to move his master's car was shocked and dumbfounded to see a beautiful black-haired girl coming out from the back door of the car. The girl winked and smiled at him.
"Oh, hello .. I was just hitchhiking for a while." Reggie laughs. But not lost the sound of his laughter, the sound of a car tire squeak that suddenly came to make him surprised. Two men got out of the car, dragged Reggie and pushed him in the back seat. A man came in and clamped his body, while another man got behind the wheel and with a loud squeaking sound the black car left the rigid and paled parking attendant.
That ....
The closed elevator door made Mike curse.
"Damn it! Regina!"
He pressed repeatedly while continuing to curse why the girl was here. Mike held back the worry that shackled his heart. Those people were the ones who followed him with the black car of the Langton Mansion. It must be Jack's men.
Sloppy girl! How stupid! He should have been tied up and locked up in the room. It was stupid to believe him wandering around the mansion. Mike curses and runs after the elevator door opens again.
Leon who was still standing stiffly regained his senses when Mike approached him and reclaimed the car keys. He enters and gasps after Reggie's kidnapper.
His phone rang again and Mike received a call after seeing Alex calling. He did not slow down his car. Their men must have followed the car and told Alex again
"Mike! The wild cat ...."
"They caught him, Alex. Tell me that our men were still following the black car." Mike cut Alex's words.
"Yes. They're after Mike and the criminals seem overwhelmed because the stray cat seems to be running amok in their car."
Mike returned to snorting. Didn't Reggie think not to make those criminals angry? They could have killed him because it was considered troublesome.
The black car was already visible in front of there. Next to a speeding dark gray car tried to squeeze and smash the black car to a stop.
Mike saw the black car was shaken and somehow what happened turned to the left until it hit the road divider and fell down there, tilted and landed with the front first to touch the ground, making a loud noise before finally being followed by the landing of all parts of the car on the ground.
"Yes God ... Regina ...." Mike glared and stopped his car. Run towards the road divider and look down ....
