Chaptre 69. Fathers

Dinner at the Langton family residence was a warm walk with Eve and Derek's jokes poking at each other. Amy smiled broadly at the interaction of the two. Alex's occasional condolences add to the atmosphere when Eve is irritated and annoyed because Alex is always in Derek's stronghold when he judges her.

Amy looked at the smiling Mike towards the three people who had been joking even since dinner began. But Mike chose to stare from the sidelines without commenting. Sometimes Amy sees Mike staring out the balcony door, into the dark night sky.

Amy approaches and will soon be sitting next to Mike. Her enlarged stomach at 30 weeks gestation made her appear weak in Mike's eyes so the man reached out to welcome her arm and guide her to the sofa next to him.

Amy giggled amusedly. "I'm pregnant, Mike. Not the elderly who need to be swept. I'm healthy and of course strong" Amy said.

Mike smiled and looked out the door again.

"There's still no news?"

Amy's question made Mike look up. Derek's wife looked at him with a sad look.

"I haven't seen him for months." Amy whispered hoarsely. Reggie's disappearance has left an empty hole in Amy's life. He did not show it and kept it close. Derek always cheers her up and says he'll do his best to find Reggie, although they haven't found him. Amy believes Derek and Mike have been trying hard. Reggie seems to have deliberately kept himself from being found.

Mike and Derek accidentally save Reggie's whereabouts information that has been found on Amy. Derek says he will give Reggie time to get to know the Sanchez family, solving their past woes. If Amy finds out Reggie is at Sanchez's Mansion, then Derek believes his wife will soon scatter to Lucius' place and demand that Reggie return and live with him again.

"Don't worry. I'm sure Reggie did deliberately disappear and make himself undiscovered."

"I knew. But I miss him ... Mamma once told me that I would always take care of Reggie. But now I don't even know where he is ...."

The sadness in Amy's tone of voice made Mike exhale deeply.

Sorry Amy .. We haven't been able to tell you.

Derek sees Mike somewhat quiet and uneasy since dinner began. He waits and holds back his questions until he can finally be alone with Mike after Alex and Eve go home and his wife Amy retreats to rest first.

"What's bothering you?"

Mike lifted his head from the paper he was reading. He raised an eyebrow asking Derek who was sitting on the sofa opposite him.

"I waited for everyone to leave and asked this. I was curious and could barely hold my tongue. Didn't you go to the Sanchez Mansion? Did you meet Reggie?"

Mike shook his head while putting down the file he was reading.

"Lucius seems to have imposed a ban on us not being able to meet Regina."

Derek frowned. "What's the reason? Shouldn't he be grateful that we made him meet with Reggie."

"Eitherway. I think it might be a form of punishment on Regina. So that he can't see Amy again."

"Will he be safe there, Mike?" ask Derek.

"I don't know. Lance says so far he's guaranteed Regina's okay." But Mike hesitated because he did not see it with his own eyes.

"Do we need to do something? Start planning a possible abduction?"

Derek grinned wide. He would be delighted to see Lucius' angry face when he found out they had kidnapped his brother.

Mike chuckled happily. "I'm happy to be supportive, even going to register as her kidnapper. But I think we need to wait .. maybe a few more days."

Derek shrugged his shoulders. He believes Mike has a plan and knows the man will do his best. It will obey. It's just, Derek doesn't know how else to deal with his wife's questions. Amy often looks sad even though she hides it in front of Derek. Amy sometimes cries without a sound when she is alone. Derek knows his wife misses Reggie a lot.

"Miss, put this on. I'll have the nurse help you." Lance held out a goody bag containing a cream-colored knee-length dress. Reggie cringing.

A dress?

"Mr Lucius says you have to look like a girl. Do not dress like a man, Especially with the shape of your short hair now. So Sir bought you a dress."

Reggie kept quiet to hear Lance's explanation. He opened another bag and found a pair of relaxed sandals that fit his feet. Reggie raised an eyebrow after putting on the slippers and felt right on his feet. Lance smiled happily.

"Mister's guess is correct. The sandals look right on your feet."

"My brother picked it?"

Nodding Lance made Reggie smile. Lucius chose clothes and sandals for him? Reggie didn't know whether to be happy or not. Lucius still looked cold and cynical towards him.

"Then I say come out, Miss. A nurse will come to help you."

After tidying up her appearance, Reggie walked towards the door and exited to meet Lance who had been waiting.

"I'm ready, Lance."

Lance's smile expands. "Mr Eloy would be so happy to see you today."

"I hope so ...."

Lance took Reggie to walk down the hospital hallway to the door of a treatment room. He opened it and let Reggie in.

A large waiting room with a comfortable sofa in the middle. Madam was already there with a waiter named Mary. The two smiled in greeting Reggie.

"Mr Lucius is waiting for you, miss," said Madam smiling, repeatedly looking at Reggie from top to bottom .

"Do I look weird, madam?" ask Reggie.

"Oh .. no. The opposite, Miss. You look so beautiful" Madam said with a big smile.

Lance laughed at Reggie who looked embarrassed by the compliment. "Let's go in" he said again.

The room was lined with glass, the door was made of glass that was visible from where Reggie now stood. There was a man on the bed with several machines connected to his body. His older brother Lucius was seen standing beside the bed. Lance went in and realized Reggie wasn't following him. He held the door and waited.

Lucius folded his hands in front of his chest . Staring at Reggie who was silent outside his father's room. Their eyes then looked, Lucius slicked his chin towards the door, signaling Reggie to enter. Very slowly the girl stepped over, passing Lance who was still holding the door open. Reggie stared into the face of the man who had looked completely different in his eyes from the last moment.

"Come here." Lucius had Reggie move to the same side as him. According to Reggie, he circled around the bed and stopped beside Lucius.

"Dad .. You can hear me. .. I brought it with me. Regina's back." Lucius slightly bent down to get closer to his father's ears.

"And you're right .. He looks just like you. You wanna see it? Get up" whispered Lucius.

There was no reaction from Eloy Sanchez. Lucius drew a chair closer, then pulled Reggie's arm to sit down.

"Sit down, Gina."

Reggie complies and sits down. Lucius pressed both his shoulders from above. Lance smiled, Lord Lucius gave him a seat as he realized Reggie might still be weak from having just recovered. Lance was more and more convinced that his master loved his sister very much.

"From now on your job is to take care of her. Talk to him, accompany him and fulfill all his needs."

Reggie nodded. He wanted to hold his father's hand. But fear Lucius would not allow it.

"Talk to him now, Gina," Lucius ordered.

Reggie nodded. He moved closer to his father's body. He closed his mouth to Eloy's ear and whispered.

"Dad ... it's me .. I ...." Reggie did not realize that tears had flooded down the slopes of his cheeks.

"I'm Regina, Dad. I'm back ...." Reggie raised his hand and stroked his father's age-eaten cheek.

"Wake up .. I want to talk to you a lot ...." Reggie sobbing.

"You want to see who I look like, right? So wakeup. Talk to me ...." Reggie closed his eyes and placed his hand against Eloy's chest. His cheek rests on Eloy's arm.

Lucius retreated from the side of the bed and sat down on the long sofa in the corner of the room. His face was hard with a tightening molar restraining all the feelings in his heart. They should have a complete family. Had Marinna taken him back to her father, her father would not have let them go. They will live as a whole family. It was all Marinna's fault.

Lance wiped away the clear liquid that threatened to come down his cheek. Finally the father and son met. After the long years that Mr. Eloy has spent longing for his little daughter. Lance hoped that his master would wake up and be able to actually see his daughter's current figure.

Outside the room, Madam and Mary were sobbing and hugging. Looking from the glass, the family regrouped and truly wished their Master had finally woken up and actually met and talked to his daughter.
