Chapters 23. Past trauma
Lucius read the report given by his assistant Lance.
"You're sure they're in the northern white villa?" He asked without sticking his head out of the report. Lance nodded then realized his leader did not see the movement of his head.
"Yes, Sir. They're putting together an army in the region."
"How much?" ask Lucius again.
"I guess .. if Mr. Derek Langton is in their hands, it's enough to secure the transfer of power of that great clan, sir. Those family officials won't risk Mr. Langton's life."
Lance said his words slowly. Afraid his voice would disturb the sleeping patient with all the life support tools on the hospital bed not far from where he spoke to his master Lucius.
"Make sure they feel safe in our Lance area. Let them think everything is going according to their plan. This affair is an internal affair of the Langton family. But if we benefit from the strife within that family, then we'll take it with pleasure." Lucius closed the report, then turned his head toward the hospital bed not far from the sofa where he was sitting.
"Certainly,Master. God has finally given us a way to break through the territory of the two great clans after so many years. I hope soon we can find Miss ...."
Lucius just silently heard Lance's words. He also hopes so. He did not know until when his father could survive with all the life support tools attached to his body. His father only wanted to see his only missing daughter. His last wish before him was clad in unconsciousness due to the stroke he suffered.
"Easy effort Mike and Derek Langton's men investigate the whereabouts of their master, Lance. Help them without notice. We need Derek's approval for the deal he made with Mike. I don't know if the man will agree to the deal his right-hand man has made with the Sanchez family." Lucius was doubtful Derek would change the rules that had been in place from his father's time to not establish any relations with the Sanchez clan.
"Good, Sir." Lance nodded obediently.
"Mr. ..what if Mr. Derek finally disagrees with the deal." Lance expressed his thoughts on the possibility of the deal being rejected.
Lucius smiled cynically. He turned to his assistant and spoke coldly.
"Then we had to kidnap that girl, Lance. You know if Jonathan took a girl in the villa with the Lion Langton. I bet she's not a girl. His position must have been important in the Langton clan."
Lance nodded in understanding at his master's plan. Derek, nicknamed the Lion Langton, was sealed with a girl in the villa. According to their informant who is a hitman recruited by Jonathan, Derek is instead seen protecting the girl and allowing himself to be beaten to a pulp.
"Make the plan as neat as possible Lance. Let our people not be seen. We will watch from afar and search the sidelines as their showdown escalates. The girl we'll catch if we see a little chance. Faster is better."
Back his assistant nodded hearing his master's instructions.
"Sir ... What would you do if you found the woman?" Lance ventured to ask.
Lucius knew the woman Lance was referring to was not the girl Jonathan had held captive. But the woman they were hunting for a long time.
"You already know ...." That cold-sounding voice made Lance shudder. He took a deep breath. Imagine the dark, damp and smelly conditions of the Montague family mansion that has been abandoned for a long time.
"Now go, take care of everything neatly, Lance." The order immediately got a nod.
"Good, Sir. I'm going." Lance stepped foot, out of the hospital room leaving his master who had also been standing stepped closer to the bed, where a man was lying with his body still motionless. A breathing tube appears to be attached to her lungs, connected to a machine that supports her life. Infusion hose, food hose, even hose for urine disposal was installed in his body. All of them are helped by medical devices.
Lucius clasped the old man's hand. Take a deep breath, then breathe it out slowly. His chest suddenly felt very tight.
"When are you gonna wake up? Are you going to keep making me worry!" Lucius spoke to himself in the silence of the room.
"I found the way! So wakeup! You want your daughter, don't you!?" Lucius squeezed the fingers in his grasp.
A growl came out of Lucius' lips. The pain suddenly plagued his entire body. He huddled up to the bed, took off his hand on his father's hand and hugged himself.
"Until when will I be like this, Dad ...." Those feeble words full of suffering shot out from Lucius's grimacing lips, his forehead frowning, cold sweat flooding his body. Nausea runs out and rolls in her stomach. He closed his eyes. That past trauma could always make him feel pain as if he was being tortured all over his body.
Lucius set his breath, dragged his body up and returned to the sofa. He took the medicine and immediately swallowed the pill given by his doctor, then laid down, trying to close his eyes. Relaxing the body and emptying the mind, hoping that the pill he swallowed would work immediately and eliminate all the pain he felt throughout his body.

Reggie was agitated. The nightmare that came her sweating. A groan of fear sometimes slipped from his lips. Since seeing the black-haired man who came to see Mike at that time, Reggie's sleep never calmed down. Nightmares always come to him.
"Don'tnnnn!" The screams of fear kept Reggie awake. His breathing was hunting, tears had involuntarily wet his cheeks.
He wiped the melt with his arm, then shook his head scanning the room where it is now. It was as if he was looking for someone who had frightened him greatly.
Reggie realized he was in his room in the Langton family's main mansion. He moved to sit on the bedside. Pour water from a container that is on the nightstand and drink to smooth his throat that feels dry.
"Mom ... I finally saw it by accident after so many years .. tell me what should I do? Do I have to get out of here? Mr. Arthur and Mother Greta are gone, Mr. Erland whom Mother Greta asked to keep the family from finding us has also long gone. Derek's son doesn't know about us, Mom .. Who am I supposed to ask for protection? Do I have to go hide myself? "
Reggie spoke to himself in the silence of his room. His brain thought hard. She is very worried about Amy and understands the reason why Mike contacted Sanchez's family to find Derek. They need access to Sanchez's territory to find Jack and Jonathan who turns out to be hiding in their territory.
Mike was forced to break Mr. Erland Langton's terms of not cooperating with the Sanchez family and even gave Lucius Sanchez access to the Langton and Sky regions.
Reggie really understands, Amy and Derek's safety is paramount. No one knows about his past. The ones who know are gone.
"There's still a chance for me to escape, don't you think, Mom? " Reggie whispered softly.
I doubt he can survive out there from the Sanchez Clan who has a lot of power. The arms business, the drugs, the family's chemical factory made it one of the families that counts. All this time it was only because the Langton and Sky families were protecting and stopping all access to the Sanchez family to search for Reggie and his mother that they never found. Now he can't possibly tell Mike. Mike's mind will branch out, while Derek and Amy can't wait, must be found and rescued soon.
Reggie closed his eyes tight. Imagine the smiling face of her mother. Gather strength and courage from that smile.
"Always accompany me from up there, Mom. I'll go through it any way. I'll make sure Amy's safe and secure. Make sure there are people who will always make her happy and give her protection forever. Then I will take care of myself .. I will not drag Mr. Arthur's daughter into the entanglement of our past. It's been enough his parents helped us since many years ago ...."
Reggie strengthened his resolve. He will face it himself.
"Pray me, Mom." The moaning-like soft words came out of Reggie's lips that felt very dry.
