Episode 102: The Night Market
It was a cool night and the sky was dark and decorated with stars. The moon was clear without clouds blocking it. Far below auction, there is a market spread along the main street in the city center. The orange lights lit up brightly, and crowds piled up in the place. Cassie and I walked in the market while chatting casually.
“Wah, so crowded here,” lontar Cassie happy.
“Iya, the weekend gets people out, yes..” reply.
Then I saw a kiosk selling tempe chips of various flavors. I ordered a few packs for both of us. After that we continued walking while looking around. During the leg, we enjoyed those tempe chips.
“Hmm…! Very tasty!”
“It's not wrong of you to buy this,” reply Cassie smiled.
“Do you like it?” manya curious.
“Of course, this is delicious!” happy answer.
“The flavor is very steady, next time I want to ask for more seasoning,” I said.
“Plasticnya do not let you lick, yes!” cassie was joking.
“Duh, get caught, hehe..” reply me whiny.
Some time later, we walked to the center of the crowd in the middle of the market. There was the sound of people singing from a distance. We also walked to the source of the sound. The more we approach it, the more crowded the place is with audiences. There was a concert stage featuring popular singers.
“It turns out there are concerts also in this market,” said I do not believe.
“I think so too. This place looks like a festival rather than a market,” Cassie said. The cramped and noisy atmosphere with the sound of the audience makes Cassie uncomfortable.
“Can we hurry away from here?” pinta Cassie covered both ears.
“Eh? You don't really like music, do you?” confused reply.
“I love music, but I don't like crowds like this,” he replied.
“O—Oh, well then, let's take a look elsewhere,” I said. while taking Cassie away.
We walked away from the concert stage. Since we were in this market, there was no sign of Adelard and Rein. Until we finally entered the area where games and entertainment. Looks various kiosk tents both small to large though. I saw a game kiosk that I thought was exciting.
“Let's try that game!” get excited and run to the place.
“E—Eh? Gavin! Wait for me!” cassie from behind.
I visited the prize shooting game kiosk. When I got there I paid for five bullets. Cassie just arrived did the same thing. He took a gun containing five rubber bullets. In front of us were various prizes that we could get if the shot dropped it.
“You first,” said Cassie smiling.
“Alright,” said I'm acting cocky.
Then I aimed at my weapon that was pointing at a teddy bear. I shot several times, but not a single bullet hit it. I was very upset and now is my last chance. Cassie looked at me while holding a weapon in her hand. Before I pulled the trigger, he encouraged me first.
“Spirit! You can do it!”
Then I smiled at him. Not long after, I pulled the trigger and pulled out the rubber bullet. I've been aiming for the target first. The bullet finally hit the doll and shook it, but it did not fall.
“Grwaaahh! Why not fall?” lontarku.
“Wah, what a pity..” smile back. “Now it's my turn,” he continued while taking a position like a sniper.
I was a little surprised to see him behave like that. Cassie directs her target at what she wants. I looked at him seriously, as well as the stall guard who was both glaring at him. Then he shot quickly and precisely, to the point that I didn't see a pause in every shot. He dropped five things at once. Suddenly me and the stallkeeper just gawked in disbelief to see it.
“K—Kok can..?” tanyaku.
“H—Great once..” throw the kiosk keeper. Cassie was in style while blowing the tip of the weapon that released smoke. Then he smiled and pretended to be arrogant in front of the two of us.
“S—Who are you really? You're not a secret agent, are you?”
“Only an ordinary girl!” the answer was a wide grin.
“Congratulations! I just saw this universal person,” he said.
“Do you reopen next week?” ask Cassie.
“Ya, we open every week.”
“Can you save it first? I'll be back here again next week,” Cassie's pinta to him.
“Oh, okay. I'll save it, and here's a paper to pick it up later.” Cassie was given a piece of paper as proof and a sign that she had received the prize.
“Thank you! Bye!” lontar Cassie happy.
“See you next week!” yells.
Cassie and I left the stall and looked at other places. I was still confused by him who kept the gift.
“Why did you save the gift? Though we can take it again when you want to go home later,” you are curious.
“Ribet once, I also do not want to show it to Adelard and Rein,” he replied.
“Why did you make a gift?” I then went back to him.
“Can be, we'll see later.”
Before long we walked, I saw a large tent that was written and showed that the place of entertainment was a haunted house. From the outside decoration alone has answered it. I was silent for a moment to see the place in front of him. There is a long line. Instantly I was interested and my adrenaline was hooked.
“I want to bring everyone here,” I murmured in my heart. Cassie who was in front of me then stopped and turned her head towards me.
“Gavin! What the hell are you doing? Come!”
“Yes, I'm coming!”
Not far from the haunted house, there appears a goldfish game kiosk. Cassie invited me to approach the place with great enthusiasm.
“I want to try it!”
“OK!”
We both played that game. Each of us was given three thin mesh sticks that were easily torn. After paying for it, we both tried to catch those little fish. I tried to catch a fish quickly, but the fish escaped due to a wide torn net.
“Aduh... A little more,” me gurgles.
“Almost,” said Cassie who also failed like me.
After three attempts, we did not get a single fish. Then we went from the stall and walked to see the other stalls.
“Yeah, we both failed, yes.” I said grin.
“Yes, it is very difficult to use such a net,” reply Cassie a little bit upset.
Time went on and the day was very late, but the crowd still happened to this day. The cold weather makes me hungry.
“Cassie, I'm hungry, let's eat,” take me.
“Come, I'm hungry too,” reply. Then we walked around looking for a restaurant to fill our stomachs.
We decided to eat at a fast food restaurant not too far away. The place was quite crowded and every cashier table was filled with queues. We lined up in a row before I dropped my wallet and someone called me from behind. It was at this point that we found Adelard and Rein, though we were all surprised by each other, myself included.
“Loh, it turns out you guys are here?”
