A cloudy sky was beside me as it came towards the basketball club room. Today we were allowed from school learning for a full day to take part in this race. When I entered the room there were people who were excited and getting ready before leaving for the match.
“Oh, you replaced Hart, huh?” ask my classmates.
“Iya.” I replied to him. “Oh yes, Mil. Will you train together for a while?” iokuk. “Alright.” replied and we went out of the room to the court with a basketball in my hand. When we were at the door there was someone shouting from inside.
“Millard! You're the team leader, yes!” it was screaming from inside the room. “Iya!” the reply was also screaming.
We also trained together. Milard taught me some basic techniques in basketball. Before I only knew that playing it was just enough to bounce and then throw. His nimble and fast movements amaze me with his actions.
“Wah, great.” praise me while gagging at him.
“Thank you.” smile back. “Hopefully you can play as great as Hart.”. “Hart is very good at playing basketball, yes?” manya curious. “Iya. He is a role model of us all.” he replied while bouncing the ball.
“Alright then, I will do my best!” I said loudly and passionately.
After that we all went to the match venue in the neighboring city by bus. It was a welcome sign when we arrived. The national level basketball race was written on that huge board. Before the game, we all attended the opening ceremony.
“Thus, National Basketball Race of the year I open.”
A loud round of applause graced the atmosphere throughout the building. The teams that are participants are also not less enthusiastic with their supporters. Various yel-yel began to throw to each other to burn the fire that tempered. After the ceremony was over, our school club competed in the first match against the old house. We also prepared in the dressing room.
“You become a core player, yes.” said Milard suddenly to me. I was surprised after hearing it. “I entrust you.” Milard said seriously and excitedly and we applauded each other. During the game I was positioned as a centre or centre player.
The match also began. I'm not very good at playing basketball positioned players whose task is quite complex. I try hard so that my team can score and keep from the opponent's attack. It seems like this early match was not too difficult maybe because it was still the preliminary round.
“Who's the new kid?” shouted the opposing team coach in annoyance. Those of us who are playing seriously are not responding to it. But it seemed like his screams sounded this huge room. Fortunately, our score was far from the opponent. The match ended with us as winners.
“Who's that tacky kid?” ask one of them in annoyance. “He's the player who replaced Hart.” Milard said calmly. “May the great man be replaced with this arrogant boy.” The atmosphere is getting hot and runyam. I just kept quiet and didn't know what to say.
“Oi, arrogant boy. Don't be a quiet ass!” lontar one of them.
“Ma—I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend you at all.” I said as I looked down nervously pleading, but the hot flames didn't go out.
“Have stopped! What's wrong with him replacing Hart? He is not arrogant to you at all. What do you guys want?” firmly Milard.
“We want to invite you to fight. One day we will teach the arrogant boy a lesson!” sahut them.
Soon some of the organizers came and tried to break us all up. They also left us. But some of them still kekeh to continue to serve us.
“Awas you, arrogant boy!” his yell.
Fortunately, our dispute was broken up by the committee. Finally we were ordered to leave the field immediately because it will be reused in the next game. We went back to school happy and happy.
“Take it easy, Adelard. They are just envious people.” said Milard to calm me down. But still guilt is always thought of by me even though I do not know what I have done. The question always haunts my head restlessly.
“What really happened?”
