Episode 112: The Journey to the Festival

Day after day, the sun and moon rotate day and night. After busy days, come the weekend that people are waiting for. The city that stands magnificent buildings is also occupied by people who want to unwind the work. The next day from the end of our school that week, we decided to visit the educational festival we had discussed earlier. We were getting ready from morning.

“Quick you two!” rein exclaimed from the front of the dormitory with the door open, while Gavin and I were picking up some items that were in the room. Some time later, we both came out of our dormitory and met my friends. They had all gathered in the front corridor.

“You guys are catapulting, yes,” chirp Icha joking.

“Using the wheelchair is complicated, you know,” reply me a little irritated.

“Why did you answer? It is I who wear it,” said Gavin to me confused. Then I responded with a cry.

“You are much longer than the time Cassie dressed up,” Rein smiled. Cassie who heard it then became embarrassed and misbehaved. He tried to deny it, but his funny face made me laugh at him.

“A—I'm not dressed up! I only use facial moisturizer..” he said nervously.

“Well, don't you use makeup? But you look so beautiful,” throw Gavin unnerved to him and suddenly made Cassie blush even more with her face flushed red. We who saw Gavin's sudden temperament made us rejoice to see him.

“Hahaha! The Gavin I know now can say that,” Rein continued laughing out loud. I also did not escape laughing because of it. Gavin became misbehaved and attempted to change the topic.

“B—Good, sorry I slipped earlier,” I replied to him. After that, we prepared to head to the city center.

“Let's go to town!” exclaim Rhean excited.

“Come!” reply us all at once.

We walked down the stairs in the dormitory building, then walked out of the school complex. It was seen by me that the students were also having fun around us. Many students also decide their activities to take a walk together around this city. Along our way on the sidewalks of the highway, there were people passing by and vehicles crowded the road at each intersection. The crowd was made up of students who were our age.

Until one day we came to a halt with a very crowded crowd. They also seem to want to lead to the same goal as us. The same thing happened on the road that was filled with stopped vehicles. The city's roads are now jammed with a sea of vehicles and people. It was getting late and the lights started to hit us all. The cramped atmosphere makes me stifling.

“Very many here,” I said while wagging my clothes.

“Is there no other way?” ask Bella.

“Loh, I thought you guys understood the way,” Gavin told the girls.

“Betul also, you guys will often go for a walk,” I continued confused.

“We often come out for buying groceries only, you know? So we only know the way to the shopping center,” Icha told us. We also had to pause for a moment to think about the solution to the problem that is now plaguing us. Soon Gandra had an idea while holding a smartphone in his hand.

“Looks like I know where we should go,” he said while looking at his phone screen. We all approached Gandra and looked at the screen. It turned out that Gandra was looking at the map available on his phone.

“Oh yes, there is a map,” I said inexhaustible, following with my friends who are also unaware that there is such technology.

“Means, all this time you thought that we were living in an age when? Baheula?” sahut Rein insinuated. I heard him and laughed a little.

“Not so, Ma'am,” reply Gavin.

After that, Gandra explained the path we had to walk. He explained that we had to take a detour by passing small streets and inland. We all just cheered him. I understood with Gandra's brief, dense, and clear explanation, but apparently not with Gavin and Rhean tilting their heads.

“Well, roughly like that,” said Gandra ended his explanation.

“I'll come with you deh,” reply Rhean cangar-cengar.

“Alright, then. Do not get lost, yes,” continued Gandra to us all.

We followed Gandra. Sometimes he also looks at the map on his screen to make sure he returns. And sure enough, we passed through densely populated places and small streets. Not infrequently we also ask the surrounding community about the direction we are headed. Fortunately, the road we walked was not so crowded with people. We can also see the activities of the people of this city. There is so much I know about this city and the land. Without knowing it, it was noon. Finally we decided to take a break while filling our stomachs.

“We eat first, yuk,” take Bella. Rhean who looked around then found a home-cooked restaurant.

“We ate there only,” reply Rhean.

We walked over to the simple restaurant. Once there we sat down at the dining table. The not-so-large room, the lighting from the sun, and the fan-cooling room reminded me of a village. I did not expect that there were still simple settlements like this. While looking at the menu, some of my friends were stunned by the price listed.

“Wah, so cheap!” lontar Bella did not believe, as well as Rhean who was excited to see the menu leaflet.

“You don't know if there is a restaurant like this?” ask Rein to them.

“I always eat at home with parents, if outside we eat in restaurants,” replied Rhean.

“Basic city boy,” sahutku joking. After looking around, I saw my favorite dish, which was meat soup. I ordered the food too. My friends also ordered the food chosen by each of them. I also ordered orange ice to the waiter of the restaurant.

“You like iced orange, huh?” ask Cassie slowly. I replied with a smile and said it. Then there was a conversation between all of us. Upon the arrival of all our orders, then we ate the hindrance. Again Gavin devoured it vigorously despite its present condition.

“With your current condition, you haven't changed, huh?” my cetus.

“Mwakanyan tuetap nwomor swatu,” reply while chewing the food that filled his mouth.

“Tell before talking,” Cassie told Gavin subtly. Gavin, who heard it, choked and coughed. We all panicked to see it. I quickly picked up the glass.

“You all right?” ask Cassie to worry.

“Y—Ya! I was just too happy just now,” replied Gavin grinning. We all just smiled at the way the two of them were quite compatible.

“Ekhem, let's quickly spend,” chirps Bella with her plate already clean from food.

Looking at Gavin and Cassie who seemed to be compatible, it made Rein feel envious and asked me to do something to him. Then I bribed him back like back then. People were just watching us, including Gavin who looked envious of the two of us.

“Walah, walah, these two children even make out,” chirped Bella. Showed by the whole room makes me embarrassed not overcast. I can only hope in my heart.

“Come quickly out, food..”.
