Love Exchange's
Episode 11: Foreign Scribbles

After school, Freda and I were unable to return home as usual. I was with him and some of my other friends had to finish the class picket first. Hart had already left class because he had to follow basketball practice. Same with Cassie. The atmosphere of this building on the second floor had become quiet quickly.

After that I tidied up my bag. Freda who saw him became curious and asked me.

“You didn't bring an umbrella? Though the next few days are predicted to rain often, you know.”

I was confused how to answer. My umbrella is being borrowed by Cassie. Even I just realized that my umbrella had not been able to return it, but he had come home from earlier. I was silent for a few moments which made Freda become confused as well as more curious.

“Is there anything?” ask Freda to me.

“Nothing.” I replied with a slightly panicked face.

“Hmm... You look suspicious.” he said hesitatingly to me. “Don't-don't..” Further he added fishing-ticking me. I who felt uncomfortable with him replied firmly.

    “Serious. I'm okay.”

“Ya done it, if you say so.” said.

Then Freda and I walked down the stairs. A moment to speak something to me. “You go first. I want to go to the toilet first.” he said then walked to the toilet at the end of the hall. Then I continued my footsteps towards the exit of the school building. But I found a book on the floor.

“Whose book is this?” I murmured slowly while examining him.

Looks scribbled so neat almost on every page. Nothing else and not it is a math package book. Books that are treated like this are thought by me if the person who has it is a diligent and clever person. But I found no sign of the owner of this book, including his name.

“Better I save first.” I put the book in my bag. After that I continued my footsteps. But my steps stopped when I was in front of the door of the school building. Cassie looked down and paced looking for something. Then I approached him.

“A—Adelard?” he said he stuttered in shame. “Ya?” I replied in confusion to him while tilting my head. “I—It... I just.. looking for a book.” Instantly I understood that the book I found seemed to belong to Cassie. This makes sense with the contents of the book that describes people who are diligent.

Cassie suddenly remembered something and searched for something in her bag. I also took the book out of my bag. Then I stretched out my hand to give the book to him.

    “This.” say we are together.

Our two outstretched hands one holding a book and the other holding an umbrella. Immediately I became ashamed and so did he. Then we returned each of our things.

“Thank you..” said Cassie slowly. Her flushed face made me contract it like. We both felt ashamed.

    “Thank you too.” reply.

A few seconds later the atmosphere became quiet and silent. I was nervous not knowing how. Freda has not yet returned from the bathroom. We can only face each other and no one starts the conversation. I wanted to go home soon but was disinclined that I had promised Freda that we would go home together.

“Quick, Freda. I don't know what to say.” my inner being expectantly. But his nose did not appear until a few minutes later.

“If this continues, inevitably I have to start talking to him. May he not hate me.” murmured me again in heart.
