Episode 42: Admired
I'm still looking for my speech paper frantically half-dead. Cassie who was panicking helped me. I didn't move more for fear of stealing people's attention. Meanwhile Freda and Hart who were watching me became anxious and worried.
“What's with the two of them?” ask Freda restlessly.
“I don't know, like I was looking for something.” he replied confusedly while thinking about what happened.
“Do-not..” Fret Freda started to panic.
“Can?” hart replied hesitantly and still confused. “That's it!” freda raised her tone and confirmed Hart's answer. “There is no way the paper fell out of his deep pocket. Surely someone took it unconsciously.” continued said Freda realized it. Then Hart remembered something that had just happened earlier.
“Eledarn's speech is exactly the same, right?” hart told Freda. All attendees are still focusing on the speech of the candidate number five. Not so with both of them. Freda was so aware.
“Betul also.” reply Freda. “How is this?” he continued asking club not play. Hart calmly said to Freda.
“Take it easy, he's an alien.”
Not long after the reading of the speech ended and applause intermittently to the candidate number five. Then the host read out the sequence of speeches that would be delivered from the final sequence number candidate, which was me and Cassie.
“Next the last one, candidate number six, Adelard Lavient and Cassie Elaina.”
I who was confused had to say what immediately remembered the words of Kak Aydhia at that time. “It seems I used the words of Kak Aydhia only.” my inner self. Then I put out my oration in front of people.
“I can stand here probably because of the trust of all of you. I hope this trust can always be there for me. If so, please allow me to be the OSIS chairman of your conscience. I won't give you much promise. But with all the programs and challenges ahead, as a container of aspirations of all school residents, let me be the skipper and together we reach a common goal.”
Immediately applause rumbled in this one room. Aydhia's sister who noticed me only smiled from a distance in her seat. Then Cassie read out her short but meaningful speech in. Appreciation was not given by people to him. We also read our vision and mission.
The arrangement of activities continued with the debate of each candidate that has been determined and ended with answering selected questions from several attendees. Until finally the activity was completed and continued with a vote of the students.
Candidates are welcome back to the previous room. We were also granted the right to vote. We gave our voting rights from behind the voting booth. After that I, Cassie, Freda, and Hart got together and discussed the speech and the debate.
“Pidatomu very good... You got it all from where?” praise Freda and ask me curiously. I just smiled hearing it.
“We are all amazed at you, Adelard.” continued Freda amazed me. Cassie and Hart are coming towards me.
“You are also Cassie.” cetus Hart then make him blush shy.
Soon we were ordered to return to the hall for a reading of the sound. The hall was filled up immediately. The sound is read by the principal. The reading order starts from the posts of treasurer, secretary, then the last vice chairman and chairman of OSIS.
“And who became chairman and vice chairman of OSIS this time period is..”.
“Adelard Lavient and Cassie Elaina.”
It was also the sound of applause and cheers rumbling. The four of us were so happy. Freda who was excited shouted happily.
“Let's celebrate!”
