Substitute Bride For Young Master

Substitute Bride For Young Master
Chapter 102: Bad Mood

Lorie pressed the table lamp switch. The dim light reflected the hue of sadness and pain from his face. Losing one of my friends was painful. Especially when knowing it happened because of the actions of another colleague, one who is very trusted. Ken's right, he's gonna have to find that guy right away if he wants to help Alex.

He opened his closet drawer, then pulled a fairly thick brown map. Open report papers strands by strands. Lorie checked everything back carefully. Reports of a search of the area reached within two hours of Billy's home, only half of which were successfully visited. So far, there is nothing suspicious about the places that have been visited and examined. After all, the search radius can be closer or even a little further because they do not know for sure, how fast the car is when it goes to that place. Two hours is only time according to Billy's estimates, can not be used as a definite benchmark.

The girl re-examined the record of the last location of the number on Jericho's cell phone sent by the headquarters. He went straight to that place yesterday afternoon. Just a small cafe in the middle of the city, there is no surveillance camera that records anyone who visits the cafe. I can't remember anyone who comes and goes. The other numbers were the numbers of Jericho's employees and men. The only content of suspicious messages and conversations was only with the woman jal*ng who spoke to him on the phone, but none of them touched on the location in the messages that were successfully intercepted.

Lorie let out a long breath. Again, everything looks like a dead end. But this time, he knew what to do. Only he and Alex knew Ken had been killed. This opportunity .. lest Ken die in vain. The girl changed clothes and walked towards the garage. He had to check and make sure of himself.

Shortly after, the sound of squeaking tires broke the silence of the night. Loria drove her car at maximum speed. He must hurry before the criminals report Ken's death to the traitor in his group. If that were to happen, it was certain that the person would erase his tracks or be more careful so that it would become harder to find.

“Ken, rest in peace. Don't worry, I will guard the master with all my strength,” muttered the girl as she turned the wheel towards the headquarters.

After showing identification marks to the guard guard, Lorie headed for the surveillance room.

“Hey, give me the footage in room C yesterday afternoon,” the girl told a man standing guard in the archive room.

“Good, Captain," replied the man as he got up from his chair. He took out a CCTV tape and played it.

Lorie retrieves the remote and speeds up the recording until 15:45, the time when she sends the number to the base for inspection. The girl's eyes squinted when she saw who was sitting behind the big monitor screen.

“Not empty one?” muttered Lorie felt a little surprised because her guess missed, “Give the recording since two weeks ago, special space C only!” orders again.

“Wait a minute, Captain,” replied the bodyguard as he checked the shelf containing the CCTV footage collection and handed over the one requested by Lorie.

Lorie's face stiffened when she saw the same figure entering the room to operate the tracking device and tracking system. He really could not believe seeing how the figure manipulated everything so neatly. No strangeness was detected on his face. No one should be suspicious. After all, tracking the signal and location is indeed one of its tasks, besides 01 of course.

Lorie's hands were clenched tightly. All this evidence is more than enough. Now he knows who the traitor who caused Ken to lose his life. He pulled out his phone and made a call. The ringtone from his phone was heard several times before the call was finally connected.

“Halo, sorry to bother you this late,” Lorie said when she heard a rustling sound on the other end of the phone.

“Lorie? Did something happen?” ask the voice across there in a hoarse voice.

“Yes. I need your help. Can I go there now?”

“Now?” Lorie's interlocutor sounded hesitant before finally saying, “Um, well. Come.”

Lorie turned off her phone and put it back in the backpack. He returned the gaze of the bodyguard standing beside him and looked towards him with a slightly confused face.

“Do not tell this to anyone!” lorie's orders while walking towards the door.

“Good, Captain.”

The silent passageway resounded as Lorie's long, steady footsteps snapped at the marble floor. Chest raging. Neurons in the cranium deliver clashing information. Even as he re-entered the car and spurred the vehicle away from the headquarters, his eyes were still blank and void. He has less than 20 minutes to decide.

As if racing against time, the black sports car broke through almost all the red lights it encountered. The quiet streets made it faster to reach the house he was heading to. The building is white with a minimalist model that looks quiet, but the living room lights on. It seems like his arrival was awaited. Lorie parked the car in the courtyard, then got off and stepped calmly towards the door. He had just raised his hand to knock when the door leaf suddenly opened.

“As soon as you arrive. Come in,” said the host while giving way to Lorie to enter.

Lorie walked in and stopped in the middle of the living room. He looked around, watching the ornaments and photos framed on the walls and display cabinets. There's a photo of Ken there, smiling sweetly as he hugs his graduation certificate as one of the shadow teams. The girl's eyes were heating up, she really did not understand how someone could lay the life of a friend who was like a family into the hands of the enemy. He took a deep breath and stared right at his interlocutor's bead.

“There is an urgent problem what makes you so rushed?”

“Ken contacted me,” replied Lorie very calmly.

“What? Why didn't he tell me?”

Lorie enjoyed the rapidly fickle expression in front of her. Surprise, a flash of worry, a little guilt, then .. cunning as dark as night.

“Why should he tell you?” asked Lorie while putting both her hands on her waist.

“It ... I can help track his whereabouts and send troops to evacuate him.”

“Send troops to kill him, you mean?”

“L-Lorie? What are you talking about?”

“Why did you do it, Anne?”

“I'm not–“

“I've seen the footage at headquarters. You're overconfident and think Ken won't make it, don't you?”

Lorie's face was indecipherable, as was Anne's. The two women stared at each other for quite a long time in a gripping silence.

“They offer money in an amount that I can not refuse,” Anne said at last while shaking her shoulder. He walked back to the couch and sat there on his feet.

“Sit. We can talk about it. I'll recruit you to join the–“ team

“Master picked you up from the streets and gave you a decent life. This is your reply?”

“I've dedicated enough of my life to helping him!” anne shouted with wrath.

“No. That will never be enough. Until when it can never be. Even if you are free in his hands, it is still not worth what he has done for you.”

However, Lorie knew for sure what was under the table. “Don’t you dare!” snarl.

The threatening voice made Anne abandon her intentions.

Clique

Anne looked up, then sneered towards Lorie when she saw Baretta's muffled snout pointing right at her forehead.

“You won't really do it. I know–”

“Send my farewell to Ken.”

Blup up!

Anne's head jerked backwards. Blood poured out of the hole on his forehead, dripping down his neck and soaking the sofa. His eyes were glaring as if he had not expected Lorie to actually shoot him.

Lorie's hand that was still stretched forward trembled. The small movements spread all over his body until he finally shivered. Shivering violently until it feels like he wants to vomit. Seeing the cream-colored sofa in front of him begin to blush quickly really made him nauseous. The distinctive aroma of iron is piercing his sense of smell. The image of Anne lying with her mouth open seemed to haunt her for life.

Losing two best friends in one night was the biggest blow in Lorie's life, especially since she took one of those lives forcibly. Two large droplets of clear liquid raced down the girl's cheeks, giving the girl a salty taste as it rolled past her lips.

Lorie walked out, closed the door, then got into her car. He propped his head up with both hands on the wheel, then cried until his chest felt as if it was about to explode.

There's no other choice. She knew Anne would not open her mouth despite being tortured in the most horrible way. He certainly will not bear to see his best friend tortured in the red room to want to provide information. Mr. Alex would never let Anne go. So, this way is the best.

“Until you meet in hell, Anne ..” muttered the girl before turning on the car and breaking the silence of the night again at high speed.

The sunlight barged in, falling right over the pale cheeks and full of scratch marks. Alex walked towards the window and pulled the curtain to block the light from disturbing his wife's sleep. Kinara's condition had just stabilized when it was almost dawn. He thought, sleeping longer would be very nice of the girl. However, when the man turned his body around, a pair of round eyes were staring at him without blinking.

“Hey, I woke you?” ask Alex as he gets closer to the bed. He sat down on the chair and grabbed Kinara's hand to grasp, but the girl pulled his hand and put it in the blanket.

Alex was glued for a moment. Her heart paled seeing Kinara turn her gaze towards the door. His hands were outstretched, wanting to wipe his wife's head, but he paled when he saw the girl's extremely tense shoulders.

“Honey, is your sleep good? Or do you want something?” ask Alex very gently.

Kinara. The pain in his body was not comparable to the disgust that surrounded him. He felt really dirty and dirty. The thought kept coming, rolling like a wave that continuously eroded his confidence. Is he still worthy of Alex? After all, the man could already look back and walk. Is not her job as a substitute bride over? In fact, there was too much she wanted to say to her husband, but her tongue felt like it. His ability to string words together seemed to simply disappear.

“I'll call the nurse if you're uncomfortable with my presence. What you want–“

“We're divorced only.”

Kinara's voice was almost inaudible, but it was capable of raining down to its deepest base. Alex was in his place. His two hands that were in his pants pocket were tightly clenched. He clenched his jaws tightly until veins protruded on the surface of his neck and temples.

“We talk again later after you recover,” Alex said after successfully dampening the emotions mixed in his chest.

“No. I want a divorce. My job is over, isn't it?”

Alex took a deep breath. He knew his wife was just in shock, forcing him to speak would only make things worse. So he prefers to stay away.

“If you're not happy because I lied to you about my recovery, I'm sorry. You can beat me, yell at me and even scold me to satisfaction, but later. I'll come out if you don't want to see my face. Be rested. Nurse will be coming soon.”

Alex walked out before Kinara could reply. He ordered one of the bodyguards to call the nurse, after which he walked up to the elevator and leaned against the eavesdropping, staring at the ceramic floor that reflected the silhouette of his body. I don't know why hearing Kinara say the word divorce made her heart beat in pain. Suddenly he wanted to go on a rampage and kill people. Anybody. It could start with Jericho.

“Why is your face like eating people?”

Alex looks up and finds Brenda standing in front of him, complete with her maid and bodyguard. He looked at his grandmother in a bit of surprise. How could the old lady be here.

“Granny, what are you doing here?” alex asked with a frown.

“What do I do? Of course I'll see my son-in-law's granddaughter. Where is he?”

“Kinara? He's in a bad mood. Please don't bother him first, Granny,” Alex said in a pleading tone. He did not want his grandmother to come in and get Kinara to divorce him right now.

“What's not good? Let me get in–“

“She wants a divorce.”

“Ap-what? Did the girl lose her mind? All the women in the world want to be your wife, and she wants a divorce?” Brenda looked at her grandson suspiciously. “You're not playing with this old lady, are you?”

Alex shook weakly. “Let his emotions stabilize first, Granny .. please, don't make things worse.”

Brenda sighed softly. “Good. I'll be back later,”.

“Thank you,” Alex said sincerely.

His grandmother wanted to lower her ego and come to see his wife, this is a progress worth celebrating. However, the time is not right. He really hoped that what was said by Kinara was only because of the influence of his momentary emotions.

Hopefully ....
