Substitute Bride For Young Master

Substitute Bride For Young Master
Chapter 125: Wanting to Be Alone

Kinara flipped her body restlessly over the sofa. He could not sleep in the room quietly, the shadow of Jessica who wrestled with Alex was constantly spinning every time his eyes closed. In addition, the pain that pierced the surface of his skin began to feel. He got up and checked his legs and his arms were scratched, his injuries not deep but quite a lot.

“Sssh ...,” hisses slowly, his feet throbbing.

Kinara raised her legs and bit her lips firmly when she saw a not-so-big piece of glass embedded in the middle of her soles. He got up and jumped into the drawer, carefully dismantling the small box. Relief filled his face when he managed to find a tweezers. He jumped back on one foot into the bathroom, grabbed the medicine storage box and sat on the edge of the bathtub. Very carefully, he tried to pry the shard using tweezers.

“Ah ..”.

It feels so painful. Strangely, the wound had not felt at all since earlier. He still had time to walk here and there as usual, but now .. he really wanted to cry.

Kinara kept her hands from shaking, then clamped the broken glass and pulled it out. There wasn't much blood coming out, but the throbbing pain hit his ribs. It really hurts amazing. He stood up and washed all his wounds with warm water, then dried them with a towel before being given the medicine.

The splint marks on the soles of his feet were gaping with bluish bruises on the edges of his wounds. Kinara applied an antiseptic before bandaging it tightly with a bandage. Take a deep breath and exhale loudly repeatedly before walking out and checking the wardrobe.

“Good,” murmured when he saw some of his clothes and pants were still neatly arranged in the closet. He picked up a gray t-shirt and training pants in matching colors and immediately changed his dress that was no longer shaped.

It must be cold outside, he thought.

He looked in a pile of clothes and pulled out his hoodie that he had brought when he first moved here. There were too many memories created in less than a year. Kinara suddenly became a little emotional. What if someday he had to completely leave this place, leave Alex, just carry the memories stored in his head. What happens if it happens someday?

He opened his eyes to dispel the dew that began to float in his eye pelup.

Can't be whiny, Nara. You must be strong.

Kinara opened the shoe drawer and took out her keds shoes with a pair of socks. He put it all on quickly, then tiptoed towards the window. He can't stay here. There was a granny who was ready to attack him at any moment. Besides, one of the strong reasons he didn't want to stay still in this room was that he wasn't ready to see Alex again.

He could not face the man in such a chaotic condition. It will only make them hurt each other more deeply. He was afraid that he could not help himself and all his heart would explode without being dammed. So right now, being aloof until his mind was clearer was the only way to go.

Kinara peered over the balcony. There's no one down there. He pulled out the bed cover and blanket, hooked it up and tied the ends in an iron circle with a dead knot. He climbed outside the iron barrier, then wrapped the cloth around his arm carefully. After pulling to test the strength of the fabric by pulling it, Kinara began to slump down slowly.

Hop.

After both of his feet firmly imprinted the ground, he released the twisting of the cloth in his hand.

Still safe. It seemed like all the servants were busy in the main hall. Kinara ducked down and immediately infiltrated among the shrubs. After successfully passing through the main building, he pulled the hoodie to cover his head perfectly. Only half of his face was visible between the shadows of pine and spruce. He walked quickly to the stables and turned towards the path that would cut in a bend about a kilometer from the main residence.

Ignoring the pain on the soles of his feet, Kinara went down the slopes of the rocks with the help of moonlight. He has to move fast before Alex comes back. While breaking through the pine forest, Kinara's brain spun rapidly thinking of where she should stay for a few days later. No friends or family can be called for help. Maybe he'll pawn his pendant for a while and use the money to pay for lodging. Yep. It seems like a good idea.

Sraaac!

“Aw!” peeked Kinara as his feet slipped on the sandy soil until his body slumped for almost five meters on a steep road. He grimaced with pain. Now both of his palms are scratched.

“Sial!” he said as he got up and wagged his hands on his pants. In a hurry he tidied back his hoodie that had been exposed and prepared to re-enter the row of pine forests.

Tin!

The deafening sound of the horn made Kinara's heart nearly dislodged. He was getting ready to flee when he realized the horn was coming from the top of the hill, not from the other way around. That's not Alex's car. His heart calmed down again. Even so, he remained lowered and prepared to step up.

“Hey! Kinara! It's me!”

The shout that resounded in the silent path stopped Kinara's intentions. It seems he recognized the voice. He turned around very slowly, squinting to look at the driver of the car who had opened the window. The streetlights didn't light up the driver's face enough, so Kinara decided to ignore them. He doesn't want to be caught in a trap anymore.

“Wait!” the driver opened the car door. He chased after Kinara and held the woman's hand.

“Raymond?” Kinara was wide-eyed, unable to believe the young man who looked more mature in a tuxedo before her. “What are you doing here?” his hisses while staring fixedly at Raymond.

“Enter. I'll drive you. It is not good to walk alone in the forest like this,” asked Raymond while nodding towards his car.

Kinara pulled out her hand. “You haven't answered my question,” reply.

“Please if you don't want to be caught by your husband. Trust me, I just want to help you. I can explain it after you get in the car" he continued.

Kinara looked at the Porsche Cayman before her with squeaking eyes. He did not know that Raymond belonged to the upper class. The young man did not show it at all while on campus.

“Quickly,” urged Raymond while looking down at the deserted streets before them.

“Good, but you owe me an explanation,” Kinara said as he hobbled towards Raymond's car. He opened the door, sat down and put on his seatbelt.

Raymond smiled widely and caught up with Kinara. He took out an identification card from his wallet and handed it to the woman.

“You can take a picture of him and send it to your friend if you are afraid I will mess around,” he said without removing a smile from his face.

“K-you ... You are the son of the mayor?” Kinara stammering. “T-but earlier ... earlier I did not see you.”

Now everything seems reasonable. Kinara looked at the young man beside her with perfectly rounded eyes, making the smile on Raymond's face turn into a crisp laugh.

“I saw you walking in with Mr. Smith, then everybody starts gossiping. I thought you'd be embarrassed to see me, so I walked away.”

“Oh ...” Kinara was stunned for a moment. “So, you already know.”

“I won't tell anyone. Appointment.”

Raymond stepped on the gas pedal and started running his car down the hill.

Kinara smiled wryly. “It's okay to laugh at me. I am indeed pathetic.”

“No,” reply Raymond quickly, “I was going to want to hide until the show was over, but then. And, I guess..you definitely need some help, so I deliberately waited,” Raymond explained as he twitched his fingers clumsily.

“You waiting for me?” ask Kinara in disbelief.

“Yeah. I saw your husband rushing out, so I decided to wait. Who knows, you might want to get out of there. It must have felt very uncomfortable to be left alone in a house that big,” Raymond said again. This time his row of white teeth was clearly visible as he grinned widely, as if asking Kinara to forgive him.

“So, you followed me from above?” ask Kinara again.

Raymond nodded quickly. “No. I gave up when you didn't come out. I decided to go home. But apparently we were destined to meet.. oh, no, I don't mean what you think. I know you're married and—“

“Easy, Boy.” Kinara chuckled softly. “I understand. Thank you.”

“Close your head,” Raymond said when he saw a car light beam from a distance.

Kinara held her breath and slumped deeper as the light of the car's searchlight from below drew closer. His heart is beating fast. He felt like he was a fugitive.

Sure enough, shortly after the Maybach 62 motorcade sped past Raymond's car. Fortunately, no one suspected it and stopped them.

“Raymond, hurry. He would go berserk if he realized I wasn't in the room,” Kinara said. A feeling of worry appeared in his chest. Should he just stay in the room?

“Relax, he will not find us,” Raymond replied with high optimism. He turned his head and smiled at Kinara before pressing the gas pedal to the bottom of the car.

Kinara gripped the car seat and door tightly. The trees out there resembled a black fog that was chasing him. He held his breath as the car drove rapidly towards the city border.

“There's my family's cabin on the shores of Lake Minnesota. You can rest while there. Stay as long as you need.”

Raymond's words made Kinara's body stiffen. Of all the places in the country, why did he have to end up there? Is the universe joking with him?
