Chapter 129: Go Home with Me
Alex stood among the lush trees, following silently as Kinara again set foot along the edge of the lake. It had been almost four days that he had been trailing his wife like a madman, watching from a distance as the woman returned to the cabin house, holding back emotions when he saw her laughing with Raymond. He just went home to take a shower and change his clothes. Though looking pathetic, he accepted all of that as punishment for his actions that inadvertently hurt his wife.
Alex's footsteps came to a halt when he saw Kinara stopping at the same place as yesterday. His wife was just pensive, staring at the calm surface of the water, then crouched down and started crying ....
Suddenly a consciousness hit Alex's head. He lowered his binoculars and looked around. Very slowly, Alex lifted his binoculars back up and looked towards the north.
He gulped with difficulty when he realized that his guess was correct. The Smith house is up there. He was very familiar with the red-brick roof. Is this where Kinara saved his life?
Kinara's gaze glared far away, as if his soul was lost at some time from the past. The shadow of the boy walking alone in the middle of the forest flashed again. How his light footsteps without any trace of hesitation were clearly imprinted in his memory. At that moment, he followed the boy like a rabbit child.
Unknowingly Kinara's lips revealed a faint smile. How could he be crazy about someone when he was very small. A monkey's love that lasted for a dozen years. It sounded cliche, but he really felt it.
"If I hadn't let Jessica confess that she saved you, would it still have ended like this, Alex?" kinara whispered softly, almost resembling the whirlwind in autumn.
He knows the past cannot be changed, time cannot be replayed. However, sometimes he wondered, if he could fix everything ....
Kinara snorted and laughed softly even though tears began to flood her face.
"Bas stupid, you were just a poor little girl back then. You think you'll be treated like a princess?" muttered Kinara while lashing her head slowly.
He realized, even though he could go back to the past, the end would be the same. It might even be destroyed from the beginning. Yep. Everything could be worse than now.
Now, Alex just loves you, that's the most important isn't it? She fucked Jessica with drugs, so why? You were almost raped by Jericho. The difference is that you're not drugged so you can fight back, but Alex .. she must feel really tormented as well, just like you, Nara.
Seeing Kinara cry while talking to herself made Alex couldn't stand it anymore. Nearly four days should be more than enough to make a decision. He also prepared himself. If indeed Kinara wanted to part ways, no problem, he would grant it if it was the decision of his little wife.
Yep. If Kinara wanted a farewell, he would grant it for a while. Wouldn't he still be able to chase and catch his little rabbit back? He would do anything to get his wife's heart back.
Alex walked very carefully and stopped behind Kinara. He opened his coat, then slowly stepped forward and put it on his wife's shoulders.
"Why so careless. It's too early, the cold can make you sick."
Kinara gasped and jumped up. She thought she was hallucinating hearing her husband's voice. However, when he turned his head and found that the man was looking at him with a look full of longing, the tears flowing down his cheeks grew louder.
"Hey, don't cry, Baby ...."
Alex reached out to wipe Kinara's tears. He desperately wanted to hug the tiny body, but he was afraid that Kinara would refuse.
"So .. is this where you helped me for the first time?" ask Alex in a hoarse voice.
Kinara nodded, then shook his head, then nodded again quickly.
"Yes. Here ... here," he answered.
Alex looked at Kinara with an indecipherable highlight. His wife's body size is small. As for him, for a ten-year-old boy, he remembered himself quite tall and big. He could not imagine the effort made by little Kinara when pulling her out of the lake. And, his lousy brain still could not remember all that. Really pissed him off.
He cleared his throat to wet his throat that felt dry and sore, as if there were a bunch of cacti stuck there.
"Baby, I'm sorry I can't remember. But I do believe you. Thank you, dear. I owe you a lot. I—"
"No. I told you, it's okay if you don't remember," Kinara sighed while shaking her head, "How did?" tanyakanya.
"Lorie found you. I just ... um, can I hold you?"
Alex's hands were wide open. He really can't take it anymore. Seeing Kinara continue to cry like that made her heart ache.
Kinara nodded and poured into her husband's arms. He wrapped his arms around her and hugged Alex's back tightly. Her heart ached when she realized her husband's weight had shrunk slightly.
“Sorry, I shouldn't worry you,” Kinara said in between sobs.
He knew Alex must be very worried about him. Parting for almost four days made him realize that he still loves the man in his arms as much as his original love. Nothing has changed at all.
Alex kissed the top of Kinara's head many times. “I'm the one who should be apologizing, honey. I hurt you almost every time. I'm totally useless. Can't take good care of you, can't keep your heart .. I'm sorry, Baby ..”
“I've forgiven you,” replied Kinara.
She looked up and looked at her husband full of earnestness.
“Alex,” call it down, “I've thought about it. If ... if Jessica is pregnant because of yesterday, let's raise the child together. I don't mind. In any case, he is your son, even ... though—“
Alex summarized Kinara's face and kissed her lips wholeheartedly. It tastes a soft and sweet taste mixed with salty tears. He hugged Kinara's body tightly, as if he didn't want to let go anymore.
Kinara's cry was getting louder. He wrapped his hands around Alex's neck and let the man wipe away all the pain and longing he had been enduring, letting the man kiss her until her lungs were running low on oxygen.
"Baby," Alex said with a gasp of breath. His face was wet and puffy. He looked at Kinara who looked up and looked at her with a loving look.
He lowered his head and kissed his wife's lips one more time before finally saying, "If there is a baby we must raise together, then it is our baby, not from any woman."
Kinara's cry broke again. He hugged Alex with all his might until it felt like their bodies were almost fused together. The sincerity in Alex's voice made her forget all the pain she had endured all this time.
What else do you expect, Nara? This is more than enough, right?
"Shhh .. don't cry anymore," Alex said, wiping Kinara's tears gently, "Come home with me."
