It took two whole weeks for Lorie to recover her body. For two weeks, he was lying on a hospital bed. Doctors forbid her from doing any movements that were sudden and too fast.
Luckily she was dealt with right away at the time, otherwise she would have most likely lost her baby.
Amber who felt very guilty always visited Lorie after school and accompanied her until the afternoon. The little girl insisted on coming every day even though Lorie had banned her and told her not to feel guilty. Even the words of the father he used to fear were not touched. Until finally it was the adults who gave up and let him come to visit.
“Aunty, are you bored in the hospital?” amber asked as she looked at Lorie with her round, glowing eyes.
“Hum. But so not too boring because there is you,” replied Lorie.
“Really?”
“Hm. You are the sunshine in my heart.”
Amber smiled shyly and whispered, “Do you prefer to be accompanied by me or Uncle Daniel?”
Lorie's laughter broke. The little girl really did not want to be rivaled.
“Of course it is more fun to be accompanied by you. Uncle Daniel is very chatty and annoying,” replied Lorie after her laughter subsided.
“Really?”
The question made Lorie and Amber scowl in surprise. They turned to the door and found the figure of the man they had just talked about was standing by the door while giving them an intimidating look.
“Try saying once more,” Daniel said as he stepped closer to Lorie's bed.
“Aunty says Uncle is very chatty and annoying, and I agree with him,” Amber replied. The girl slid her tongue towards Daniel with a triumphant expression.
Daniel chuckled softly and sat down beside the girl. He pretended to want to put back the small box in his hand into the bag while saying, “Then I give this gift to someone else only.”
“Do not!” Amber cried out and turned towards Daniel. “Give it to me, Uncle. You are the most handsome and sweet!”
Lorie stared in disbelief at her little elf who betrayed so easily just because of a box of chocolates.
“You little traitor ...,” his grunts while glaring at Amber.
This time Amber stuck out her tongue towards Lorie with a seductive expression.
“One of whom Uncle Daniel was smart to choose a very good chocolate,” he said to defend himself.
He turned back to Daniel and said, “Uncle, I am satisfied chatting. Uncle must miss Aunty, ‘ right? Then I'll go first. Bye!”
“Basic child traitor,” grumbled Lorie slowly, but her tone clearly sounded very pampering Amber.
Daniel smiled gently and reached out to touch Lorie's cheek.
“I miss you,” he said with full of appreciation.
“I don't,” reply Lorie casually.
Daniel ignored the answer he had heard so often. He took a pear on the table and peeled it clean. After he finished, he cut it small, then fed it to Lorie's mouth.
Lorie's facial skin flushed slightly as Daniel fed her painstakingly. He refused to be fed like that, but Daniel threatened to kiss him if he did not open his mouth. He could only obey his orders obediently. Really like an invader.
“Are you not tired?” ask Lorie. He knew Daniel had just arrived from the airport.
“Not tired,” replied Daniel without thinking twice.
The man had to divide his time between accompanying Lorie and taking care of her work so that he had to commute from Broocklyn to Dubai every two days. Since successfully giving a satisfactory answer to Alex Smith, Billy, and Ana, Dr. Daniel has been treated well every time he visits the hospital.
Daniel also knows that Alex told people to investigate his background and identity, but he was not offended. Instead he felt happy because Lorie had a friend who took care of her very well.
“Why pensive like a fool so?”
“Am I stupid?” Daniel asked back.
“Lumayan,” Reply Lorie. “If you are not stupid, you will not spend your time for me.”
Daniel smiled wryly and replied, “I would be a fool to miss you. You are so special ...”
Lorie opened and closed her mouth without a sound. Was that annoying guy trying to seduce her? Why were his words suddenly as sweet as honey?
“Why? Kept because I adore you?” daniel asked as he looked at Lorie's rapidly changing face.

Lorie screeched and shifted her gaze. He didn't want to continue the nonsense with the man anymore. It was up to him to go back and forth between continents once every two days. That's not his business at all. After all, it wasn't her who requested that the man accompany her.
