When Lorie woke up from her sleep, the clock on the wall had already shown at 09:00. The woman immediately got up and took a shower, preparing for the meeting later. The files on the map were removed and checked once more before being put in a black office bag, matching his suit and satin pants.
He went to the front of the mirror and applied a thin powder, also moisturizing lips and blush. To be honest, he did not like bodybuilding at all, but the demands of the job made him at least have to wear basic make-up such as powder and lisptik.
He tidied the marun blouse behind his suit and tied his hair that was seperated shoulder to shoulder. Yes, since becoming Vice CEO over Alex Smith's mandate, he never cut his hair to be so short as when he was still Kinara Lee's bodyguard.
The woman looked at herself in front of the mirror and observed her present self, completely different from the old Lorie. The manner class and extensive lectures that Alex arranged for her have turned her into the independent career woman she is today. He really did not know what to thank the man in such a way. All he can do now is do all the tasks he is mandated to do very well so as not to disappoint Mr. Alex.
Ding.
Lorie picks up the phone on the bed and reads the incoming message from George.
**I'm already in the main lobby, Miss**.
Lorie immediately picked up her bag and walked out of the room. He was in a hurry when he saw the elevator door close. Fortunately, one of the passengers pressed the button to keep the elevator door open.
“Thank you,” said Lorie while nodding at a glance at a man with a sideburn who had just helped her.
“Hm.”
The man reviewed a thin smile while releasing his finger so that the elevator door closed and slid down.
Lorie immediately rushed towards the main lobby with people lined up out of the elevator. He stepped into the black sedan that had picked him up at the airport, then entered and sat in the passenger seat.
“Come, go,” he said while putting on a seat belt.
“Good, Miss.” George starts the engine and runs the car out of the hotel's courtyard.
The man turned to the right at the intersection and entered the highway. Along the way, Lorie stared at the towering tall buildings on the left and right sides of the freeway. Everything looks beautiful and beautiful. Clean streams occasionally pass quickly as the car drives over the bridge.
Ding.
Lorie's daydream is cut off because her phone is clinking again. He complained slowly because he forgot to set the silent mode. He rubbed the surface of the phone screen to see who was sending the message.
That's a message from Amber. Inevitably Lorie smelled a smile and opened the message from the little girl.
Aunty Lorie's. I'm kangen. Go home quickly, yeah. I want to go to the playground and ride the ring.
Lorie's smile grew wider reading the message. He typed in a reply message and sent it to Amber.
Okay, Sweetheart. Wait for Aunty to come home. By the way, what do you want to bring?
In an instant Amber had already replied to that message.
Little brother! I want Aunty to bring me a cute baby sister.
This time Lorie laughed so much that her eyes narrowed. That silly girl .. where did that funny thought come from.
Aunty can't bring you a baby, but maybe a box of delicious chocolates and a big teddy, how about it?
Lorie's eyes glare at the large number of emot love and kiss that lined up at the end of Amber's message. The girl even sent a selfie of herself grinning widely and showing off her rows of teeth.
Lorie sighed softly and wiped the photo of Amber on her phone with great affection. The girl was indeed very close to him, although Aslan and Aaron were also close, but unlike Amber who always looked for him at all times. Perhaps because she was female, her feelings were more sensitive, in contrast to her two brothers who had a calmer disposition like their father.
“Miss, we've arrived.”
George's words disperse Lorie's concentration from her cell phone. He immediately put it in his pocket and took his bag.
“Thank you, George,” he told the polite young man sitting behind the wheel.
“Sama-sama, Miss. I'll wait for you in the lobby.”
“Oke.” Lorie held onto her bag and got off.
A turquoise stone-colored building stood majestically before him. The architecture of the building looks interesting, like a castle in a fairy tale but modified with modern buildings today.
Unknowingly Lorie shook her head with a helpless expression. Mr. Alex really spoiled his daughter to the point of obeying the little girl's wishes and building Amber’s Company like this.
As she walked in, Lorie was immediately greeted by a formally dressed woman who looked very friendly.
“Vice CEO, welcome,” said.
“Good morning, Miss ...”
“Watkins. I'm Jenifer Watkins.”
“Good, Miss Watkins. Nice to meet you.”
“Oh, it's an honor for me to accompany you today, Vice CEO. Please pass here.“
Jenifer guides Lorie to the elevator and presses the number 15 button. The glass box that contained only the two of them shot rapidly upwards and stopped when the indicator light flashed at the number 15.
“Please, Miss Lorie. The managers and section chiefs are waiting for you,” Jenifer said as he opened the conference room door.
As soon as Lorie stepped in, everyone in the room stood up and greeted, “Good morning, Vice CEO Lorie.”
“Pagi. Please sit.”
Lorie walked towards the chair reserved for her at the end of the table that formed a semicircle. He sat down after making sure everyone was back.
“Please submit a report of each division to me, can start from the accommodation section.”
In an instant the atmosphere in the room became very serious. Each of the people prepared their reports to be examined by Lorie. It is common knowledge, although who holds the position as Deputy CEO of Amber’s Company is a woman, but her decisiveness and ability are not inferior to Alex Smith. Therefore they all felt disdain and respect for the woman sitting in the leader's seat even though they were on average older than Lorie.
“Service at the hotel is very good, I hope that in the future such quality will be maintained,” Lorie said when reading a report from the special division that handles Amber Hotels.
“But I want the promotion to be increased. At least three-fourths of hotel rooms should always be filled,” he continued while flipping through the documents in his hands with a serious expression.
“Good, Vice CEO.”
The meeting continued quietly. Lorie seemed very charismatic and authoritative when leading meetings and making decisions. Not a single person dared to oppose his decision or underestimate him.
