Substitute Bride For Young Master

Substitute Bride For Young Master
Chapter 80: Visit of Jericho

The air is getting colder. Kinara pulled out a blanket to cover her arm. Her subconscious made her shift to seek warmth from her husband's body. He squirms slowly when what he is looking for is not found. He fumbled on the left and right sides, trying to find the figure he was looking for. However, only the empty air managed to be reached by his fingers.

"Alex?"

Kinara opened her eyes and looked around. Slender. There was no sign of her husband. The man's phone on the nightstand was no more. The girl rested on her elbows and dragged her body to lean on the cot. He nodded and closed his eyes for a moment.

Where else did he go?

Kinara's body slumped onto the bed. He tried to go back to sleep, his eyes still heavy. However, after several rolls and turns around, he still had not found a comfortable position. The presence of Alex by his side now seemed to be an opium. He could not sleep quietly when the man was not next to him.

"It's so annoying! Why not wake me up? Always act like it!"

Slow hissing echoed in the air. Kinara flicked her blanket over, then grabbed the AC remote and pressed the off button. Annoyed, he got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. It's Sunday, Alex should have no business or go to therapy.

"Is he on any urgent business? But at the very least, he should have woken me up to leave," Kinara muttered as she stared at the mirror above the sink.

He took a toothbrush and toothpaste, then gargled. After she finished brushing her teeth and cleaning her face, the girl filled the bathtub and poured lavender scent soap.

"When's he coming back?" he murmured as he entered the bathtub.

He exhaled slowly. Today will be very boring. There is no event whatsoever. There is no Alex. There is no training schedule.

I'll take Lorie to the public library. Spending time there seems more interesting than having to be cooped up all day in the house. Wonderful idea.

The girl smirked with satisfaction. He looked for a comfortable position and lay quietly.

"Sir, the therapist's residence is empty. There was nothing when we got there."

A man wearing an anonymous mask knelt down with his face lowered in front of his master. A company of his troops kneeled behind him forming three rows. There are ten people in one line. None of them dared to raise their faces and stare at the black-robed man sitting on his throne.

The man with the silvery hair highlight looked very calm. The smile on her face looked charming and sweet. Slowly he got up from the chair, then put his hands behind the robe. The look on his face did not change as he extended his hand forward.

Dor's!

A bullet shot out along with the sound of an eruption echoing in the room. The metal circle slid by for a split second, then lodged in the cranium of the man who had just given the report. The body slid onto the floor without even realizing what had just happened to him. The deep, red puddles expanded rapidly under the hollowed-out head. The three rows of troops kneeling behind their superiors gasped, then lowered their heads even deeper. No one dared to open their mouth to speak out in defense.

A thin puff of smoke rose from the semi-automatic pistol in the hands of the black-robed man. In just one second, that wide and earthy smile disappeared. The face turned cold and flat.

"Basic is useless" he said with a hateful look.

The man walked down the stairs slowly carrying the aura of death in each swing of his steps. He stopped in front of the trembling army, watching them one by one.

"One small task .. only one small task and you missed it. It's really embarrassing."

The man turned to a company of red-clothed troops who stood upright with long-barreled rifles.

"Bring these useless rats into the basement!" his orders.

"Master!"

One of the kneeling men raised his face and crawled under his master's feet. He knew exactly what the basement meant. For the sake of the demons that rule the earth, he will not go there!

Dor's!

The hot chunks of tin shot out from the nest again, sped up and pierced through the left eyeball hidden behind the anonymous mask. Sparks of blood splashed everywhere. The man's body collapsed onto the floor. A thick white liquid mixed with blood seeped out from the hole in the man's head.

"Damn!" maki the black-robed man while kicking the body that was flickering stretched his life near his feet. He rubbed the back of the hand that was splashed with blood onto his robe.

"Take them away!" he shouted loudly.

The robed man walked back towards his throne. He grabbed the phone on the black table beside the seat, then pressed the speed dial and waited for the connecting note to be heard from across it.

"Do what you promised me. Make your cousin suffer, suffer so much that he would rather die than live. Otherwise, I guarantee you will rather die than fall into my hands. Understood?"

Clik.

The man turned off the phone call before his interlocutor could reply. I don't want to hear any more nonsense. For now, all he needs is proof. He wanted to see and enjoy how Alex Smith was smashed to pieces. He was eager to watch the Smith family's only successor crumble and never recover for good.

"Madam, there's a guest looking for you" reported a waiter in front of the reading room.

Kinara. He is upset that Lorie forbids him from going anywhere other than college. Alex was out of town for two weeks. It's only been half a day and he's tired of dying. Now the servant says there's a guest. From where? He doesn't seem to have many friends or acquaintances. The address of the house is known only to Billy and the Smith family. Then, who was the guest that this servant meant?

The girl signaled the book she was reading, then walked out.

"Who?" ask the waiter who is still standing at the door. He deliberately left the door open so that there was no need to turn on the air conditioning machine.

"A man. He said he was still a member of the Smith family."

"The Smith family?"

The wrinkle on Kinara's forehead deepened. The Smith family member he knew besides the Smith lord and mistress was also a granny was Jericho.

Can't a man not know himself coming here? Where did he get the address of this house?

"Where's Lorie?" ask Kinara again. For obvious reasons, he felt he had to be on guard.

"Miss Lorie is out. He got a call and said he'd be back soon."

Kinara's feeling is getting worse. He quickened his steps towards the living room. The girl's face changed quickly from suspicious to surprised, then stunned for a moment before returning to feeling alert. The pile of flower bouquets in the living room made him think he had entered the room wrong. However, when a man whose fleeting posture resembled Alex appeared from among the bunch of flowers, Kinara's body gesture had actually become wary.

"Jericho, you're not welcome here. Guards, take this man out!" exclaim Kinara with a face full of hostility.

How dare this asshole show up here.

"Wooo .. calm down, Sister-in-law. I just stopped by and congratulated you on your new home" Jericho said calmly. He walked towards Kinara while showing a wide grin on his face.

"Stop right there!" kinara shouted in a threatening tone. He took two steps back to keep his brother-in-law at a distance.

"Take this guy out! Never let him set foot in the yard!" the girl orders four bodyguards who have been on standby nearby.

Jericho chuckled as he raised both his hands into the air. "Why are you so afraid to see me, brother? I was just visiting .. ah, by the way, where's Alex?"

"It's none of your business!" sergeant Kinara clenching his teeth.

The new Jericho would reply again to Kinara's words, but the two bodyguards immediately pulled his hand out.

"I'll be back! I'll be back to see you!" jericho shouted from the front of the entrance. Shortly after, a long and strange laughter sounded from the man's mouth.

Kinara shuddered. "Who let him in?" ask him on two bodyguards who are still standing nearby.

"Sorry, Madam. We didn't realize it because the man was disguised as a delivery courier. He claimed the flowers were a delivery from the master to you. Sorry, next time we'll be more careful."

Kinara's hands clenched tightly at his sides.

"Have Lorie meet me after she gets home later," Kinara said before turning to the reading room.

The man came there must be some hidden intent behind it. Whatever it is, that's definitely not good intentions. Alex, come home soon ....
