The Spring Mountains.
Amber who felt so guilty towards Lorie was being so kind. The little girl served by Lorie's side and treated her like the Queen Mother. Anyone should not upset Lorie, including her two brothers, even her father was not allowed to give Lorie any duties or jobs until she was completely healed. Amber also asked the waiter to serve a delicious and nutritious meal each day.
Lorie spent two whole weeks in the Spring Mountains and managed to gain five kilograms. He felt he had turned into a fat pet baw*bi. Nevertheless, he was so grateful for all the attention of the girl that her body condition recovered quickly.
“Aunty!”
Lorie jumped upon hearing the cry of the little elf echoing along the passageway. He looked back and found the cute girl running towards him excitedly. His hair in the tail of the horse swayed to the right and left in a rhythmic motion of his legs. He's still wearing uniform. Obviously, he just got home from school. Lorie was a little suspicious looking at the overzealous-looking boy's behavior.
“What is Aunty looking at?” asked the girl after arriving in front of Lorie.
“Only looking at the scenery,” replied Lorie while stroking the top of Amber's head.
Amber looked behind Lorie's shoulders, noticed the row of pine trees in her backyard and frowned in disbelief.
“What good are those trees,” his grunts with pursed lips.
Lorie chuckled at the complaint. “You little boy where understand,” reply.
Amber sneered and rolled her eyes.
“I'm not a child,” protest.
Soon his eyes were glowing and looking full of vigor. That extremely quick change of emotions made Lorie shake her head helplessly. Looks like he had to advise Mr. Alex to get Amber into acting school.
“What else makes you excited like that?” goda Lorie as she pinched the cheek of the little girl.
“So I met a handsome uncle in front of the main gate. He looks very polite and gentle. I asked the driver to stop. When I lowered the car window, he walked over and asked if Aunty was here,” Amber replied with a hint of playful expression on her face.
The girl then approached Lorie's ear and whispered, “Aunty, are you having an affair with Uncle Daniel?”
The smile on Lorie's face disappeared quickly. He reached out to pick up Amber's ear and said, “Little girl, go learn! You are too meddling in the affairs of adults, fearing that I misspoke in front of your father and—“
“No!” cut out Amber quickly. “I'm guilty. Don't dare bother Aunty again.”
His father once scolded and punished him because he was too fond of meddling in the affairs of Aunty Lorie and Uncle Daniel. His abusive father forbade him from leaving his room on weekends. Really a tyrant father!
Lorie smirked in satisfaction. He flicked Amber's forehead gently as he said, “Go learn and do your job.”
Did Raymond come again?
Wasn't this guy not looking for her for some time? He also stopped calling and texting. Then, why did he suddenly appear here now?
While Lorie was still busy with her thoughts, a servant approached her and said that the man in front of the main gate started making a fuss.
“She said she won't leave before Miss comes out, even if Mr. Alex or Mr. Billy break her legs and hands, she won't leave,” reports the waiter.
Lorie let out a breath and scowled her temple. Does that stupid guy know what he's saying? Sir Alex and Billy were afraid that they would actually break his legs and arms.
“What should I tell him, Miss?” asked the waiter who was still standing in front of Lorie.
“No need. I'm going down. Thank you.”
“Good, Miss.”
“Oh. Please do not mention this matter in the presence of Mr. Alex or Billy .. also Doctor Ana.”
“You just calm down, don't worry.” The aunt answered with understanding, then left and returned busy with her work.
Lorie walked over a stretch of gravel that stretched along the path leading to the main gate. From a distance of several meters, he could already feel the intense gazes directed at him. Suddenly Lorie felt almost faint. It was fortunate that he only staggered for a moment and again found a solid footing.
Raymond who saw that felt anxious and involuntarily shouted, “Lorie, be careful!”
Lorie did not give any reaction. However, what appeared on the surface was clearly different from what was happening in his heart.
