In the rest of the trip, Lorie just kept quiet and observed the rows of buildings outside the windowpanes. He could not have guessed where Daniel would take him. Several times they passed by a five-star restaurant with a majestic building and a striking signboard, but Daniel continued driving without even glancing at the place. The wondering Lorie could only keep all her curiosity in her heart. It seems he guessed wrong.
After driving for about 15 minutes, the car finally slowed down on a street filled with street food stands. There are so many people out there, most of them foreign tourists who are traveling, all lined up on the streets that are not too wide and almost filled with food vendors.
“The food here is better than any restaurant,” Daniel said as he watched Lorie glued to the crowd out there.
“Or you want to go to a restaurant?” bargain again when Lorie never gave a response.
“What? Oh, naw. I love it,” replied Lorie quickly. Now his entire view of the man beside him had completely changed. And unfortunately he unconsciously joined in speaking in an informal language style with the man.
He thought Daniel was like any rich man who was arrogant, cold and arrogant. Well, even though his master was not as arrogant as people imagined, but most of the rich people he knew would not want to come to a place like this. While this Daniel, in addition to being a little careless, was also quite chatty for a man's size. Although not able to match Billy's mouth of course.
“Did I manage to impress you?” daniel asked, blinking his eyes.
Lorie raised her eyebrows and replied, “Lumayan. Not bad.”
“Very good!”
Daniel laughed in satisfaction and parked his car by the side of the road. He got down first and opened the car door for Lorie.
“You should try shawarma at the store,”, Daniel said, pointing to a stall that looked very crowded.
“Or shish tawouk sandwich, that's also passable. There is also samboosa there.” Daniel pointed to the left side. “Luqaimat? Fareeds? Falafel?”
“Hey, slow down a bit,” Lorie could not help but laugh at the enthusiasm of the man beside her.
“I barely even recognize half the name you just mentioned, Mr. Daniel,” he continued, shaking his head.
Daniel stopped and looked at Lorie with the gaze she used when they first met. Slowly the corner of his lips lifted, bringing up a thin line of smile that is not too visible.
“What?” lorie asked because Daniel was looking at her so.
“You are so beautiful when you laugh. Next should laugh more often,” replied the man as he reached out to pinch Lorie's cheeks. "One more time, just call my name. Daniel. don't have to wear 'you' or 'Master'."
Before Lorie could react, the man had already turned around and walked towards the nearest hawker shop.
Lorie pegged for a while and looked at the man's back. Tall and sturdy. While standing next to her, Lorie realized she had only reached the man's chest. A little higher than Raymond.
The woman blinked quickly several times when she realized her mind had already ventured too far. He hurriedly caught up with Daniel who was waving towards him. As he approached, the man reached out to hook his arm.
“Here too crowded, do not get lost. Later one hour I wasted just looking for you,” said the man as he continued walking, as if holding Lorie's hand was a natural and ordinary thing to do before.
Lorie stared at the hand that was holding her not too tight nor too loose, then looked at the owner of the hand with a complicated thought. Isn't this interaction too intimate?
He secretly tried to pull his hand while he was breaking through the pedestrians. However, instead of releasing the check, Daniel lowered his hand and grabbed Lorie's fingers. For a split second, it felt like there was a stream of electricity flowing from the man's fingertips and tickling the surface of Lorie's skin, leaving her a little bit of a screech in shock.
Even with Raymond he had never been that close.
Lorie became curious, how would it feel if Raymond was holding her like this.
Damn, Lorie. Stop thinking about.
“Hey?”
“Huh?”
“I said, which one do you want to eat?”
“Oh ...”
Lorie circulated the view, looking at the various foods served in the shops along the way. The aroma was very spicy, a scent that had never been smelled by him before. Fortunately his stomach could work together and not be turbulent.
“Everything looks good,” muttered the woman in the end. He smiled and handed the decision to Daniel.
“Good.” Daniel pulls Lorie's hand toward the shop she pointed at the earliest.
“The queue is quite long. You mind?” ask the man after arriving in front of the store.
“Only 30 minutes left for you, cut off 15 minutes for the return trip and 5 minutes for queuing, should 10 minutes be enough to eat? It's also if this queue is only 5 minutes,” said Lorie as she raised her eyebrows and looked at Daniel with a meaningful highlight.
“Argh ...” Daniel squeezed his hair in frustration.
“You are very calculated,” protest. “Can add ten minutes? Only ten, please?”
“Can't,” replied Lorie while lifting her chin up high. “A gentlemen must keep his promise ... Daniel.”
Daniel groaned again and rubbed his face in annoyance.
“Other times I will look for a restaurant next to your office only,” the grunt slowly, but it can still be heard by Lorie.
“Nothing next time. You promised not to bother me again if I agreed to lunch,” scolded Lorie.
“Oh. I promise I won't bother you again for the rest of the day. For tomorrow and next, we can argue later,” reply Daniel while pulling Lorie's hand into the store.
“You ..!”
Once again Lorie was made to run out of words, could only follow the man inside and order their lunch with a sour face. He really felt that he had been fooled by that man.
God fucking.
