Chapter 149: Until the Next Life

Kinara's stretcher was taken to one of the guests in the Spring Mountains who had been converted into a maternity room. Alex had asked Daniella's doctor to modify and sterilize the room so that if Kinara contracted at any time, they wouldn't have to travel long distances to the hospital. However, he did not expect that eventually the room would become an operating room for Kinara.

It was as if he had lost half his life, stood and stared blankly at the tightly shut door. Doctors Daniella and Ana did not allow him to enter at all. That made him guess how serious the condition was experienced by his wife.

He stepped forward while taking off his operating suit and continued, "We've contacted several hospitals, but the blood stock that matches that of Miss Kinara is not there. Maybe you have a connection that can get it."

"How much do you need?" ask Alex with bitterness. If he could, he would have replaced his wife in there and endured all the pain.

"A lot to get. Your wife had a placental abruption. We can't be sure until when the bleeding will stop."

"I'll look for him" Lorie said when she saw her master was just glued to the spot without responding. He immediately reached into his cell phone and dialed emergency numbers on his contacts.

"A ... what ab-abruption?" rework Alex after successfully gathering his concentration. Right now his mind was completely branching out everywhere.

Doctor Daniella tries to calm Alex down, but the man pushes her to the brink. Billy barges in and is about to hug Alex, but the man kicks him into a wall.

"Billy, don't let anyone touch my wife" Alex said before completely losing consciousness.

The sun was shining warmly, evaporating the dew on the tops of the pine trees. Alex enjoyed everything with his eyes closed. He spread his arms wide and breathed as much air as his lungs could hold.

"You're right, Baby .. The scent of leaves and wet soil due to dew is very soothing," Alex murmured without opening his eyes.

Kinara smiled widely and stroked her husband's hair affectionately. His face was glowing in the reflection of the morning sunlight. He lowered his head and landed a light kiss.

"I love you" she whispered.

Alex smiled gently and opened his eyes. His wife's shadow evaporates with the morning dew. A large bouquet of red roses he placed on top of the tomb covered in black marble.

"Happy anniversary, Baby," he murmured again as he rubbed the surface of the headstone affectionately, "Time goes very fast .. and I'm still lonely."

"Look, there's Aslan, Aaron, and Amber who always comfort me when I start missing you. They're getting chatty, just like you. And .. oh, they've started learning to walk. If you were here, Baby ...."

Alex sighed softly and looked at the sky that stretched wide above his head.

Alex took his eyes off. He crouched down next to his wife's grave and continued saying, "You don't worry, I'll take good care of them."

He nodded slowly as his eyes began to heat up. Sometimes, he thought and wondered: if in the past, after the events in Minnesota he immediately recognized Kinara, would everything still end like this?
