It was past noon when Kinara woke up the next day. He reached out and looked for a trace of warmth by his side, but only empty air was reached. The side of the bed that Alex was sleeping in last night was cold, which meant that the man had been gone long enough. Kinara yawned and opened her eyes which still felt heavy.
"God, my poor body ...," he said as he lay on his back. His entire joints and bones were painful. His body crumbled as though he had just fought a giant elephant.
"That savage monster .. I could die if he did it every day," he muttered again with a sigh.
Kinara got up and leaned against the cot, then realized something when she accidentally looked down. He was wearing a neat nightgown. His body no longer felt sticky. Everything feels comfortable and clean.
Did Alex do all this?
Kinara's cheeks and ears were flushed. She could not imagine how her husband did all this while he was still asleep.
"Oh, my goodness .. the man was indeed ...."
Kinara covered her face with her hands while kicking around the empty air. She did not know whether to be flattered or upset by her husband's actions.
After calming down and gathering energy, Kinara set foot and got out of bed. His intention to change clothes was delayed when his tail caught a memo placed on the table. Her husband's neat and firm handwriting was printed clearly on a piece of paper. Without him noticing, his lips curved upwards when looking at the contents of the note.
I have to go to the office, there's urgent business. I've prepared soup for you, reheat it before eating.
Kinara stared at the paper for quite a while, reading it over and over again before folding it and putting it in the wallet. Oh, he does love to keep such sentimental objects to look back at at any time. Little things that look trivial like this are usually remembered forever. It may strengthen her when their relationship is in trouble, or when she is feeling homesick. Who knows ...
He circulates his gaze, then realizes that Alex has brought all his belongings back to this room. Encouraged by curiosity, Kinara walked towards the walk in closet and found that all her clothes had also been rearranged as before. His eyes suddenly softened. All this simple attention was enough to make him feel overwhelmed.
Kinara opened the closet and picked up a plain light brown suit and a gray scarf. After changing clothes and putting on thin-skin make-up, she picked up her bag and books. It has been almost a week he did not go to campus, must have been left behind a lot. Hopefully some of his classmates are kind and willing to lend notes. After being sure that no one was left behind, he opened the door and walked out. But his steps were stuck at the door. Lorie stood before him, then rushed to inspect his body from head to toe.
"Mrs, are you okay?" ask the girl with a worried face.
Kinara snorted in annoyance. "I told you, stop calling me 'mistress', I don't like."
Lorie turned her head back before bringing her body closer and whispered, "There's a big madam in the living room. He'll kill me if he hears me call you by your name."
Kinara whispered. "Large lady? You mean Lady Beatrice?"
Lorie shook her head quickly. "Mrs Brenda," she replied in half a whisper.
"Granny's? What's he doing here?" asked Kinara with a frown.
"Eitherway. Maybe he was worried about you so he came with a female doctor to check on you."
"Doctor?" The wrinkle on Kinara's forehead deepened. "Who am I saying I'm sick?"
"Aren't you sick?" Lorie looked at Kinara with a look of disbelief. "But last night I heard you screaming from inside the room, as well as Mr. Alex who kept growling and swearing. I think he's beating you up. Did you two fight when you got home last night?"
Kinara glared and almost choked. What was their voice last night as loud as?
"Where did you hear my voice last night?" search Kinara. He could not imagine it ... Lorie heard it all ... it was really ....
"From the front door," Lorie replied without any suspicion at all.
"And ... What are you doing on this doorstep in the middle of the night blind?
"I want to check on you because it's not in the next room, but when I hear you're–"
"Shhh! Keep your voice down!" Kinara stuck her index finger on Lorie's lips and looked at the bodyguard with narrowed eyes.
Lorie suddenly grew so wide that her eyeballs almost jumped out when an epiphany descended on her poor little brain.
"Oh ... Oh, gosh ... Are you ... k-you two .. s-your last night–"
"Shut up!" Kinara stuck her index finger on her lips in a fit of anxiety. He did not want everyone to hear and know this. "Shut your mouth tight. Understood?"
“What's up?” asked Kinara again when she saw Lorie's face that looked doubtful.
“I can be quiet, but ... last night there were two bodyguards standing guard in front of the room,” Lorie replied in an almost inaudible voice.
“A-what did you say ...” Kinara was completely in shock. “Why is there a bodyguard in front of the room?”
“Indeed there is always someone standing guard in front of the room every night,” replied Lorie while grinning clumsily, “You forgot?”
“Oh ...”
Kinara looked dazed, as if he had not seen any bodyguards at the door last night. It is true that there are always guards standing guard ....
Kinara raised one hand when she saw Lorie was about to speak again. He doesn't want to hear anything anymore. Don't want to think of anything. It's all over, so let this shame carry it to death. After a long sigh, he continued his delayed steps towards the living room.
“Granny,” said to the silver-haired woman sitting on the sofa.
Kinara turned to the woman sitting next to Brenda, then the look on her face changed at a glance when she recognized who it was. The woman now looks much more mature and graceful, but still.
“How are you doing?” brenda asked as she approached Kinara.
“I'm fine, Granny. How about yourself?”
Brenda waved her hand. “Don't talk too stiffly with me. Thanks to you, I am still alive today. Jericho, the child does not know the lucky, he really got a reply that is worth,” he said with a fiery.
“Yah .. I, um, I mean, I did get dark eyes when I hit him. Sorry ...”
“No need to apologize. That's worth it for him.”
“Granny ..”.
Kinara and Brenda turned their heads together towards the source of that melodious and delicate voice.
The woman wearing the pastel-colored lacy dress smiled very sweetly and said, “You haven't introduced us.”
“See, I forgot,” said Brenda, “Kinara, this is Jessica. Jessica, she is Alex.”'s wife
“Nice to meet you,” Jessica said. He stood up very elegantly, then approached Kinara and extended his hand.
“Kinara,” reply Kinara while shaking Jessica's hand while smiling no less sweet
So, this woman's name is Jessica? I thought they were two different people, but .. This would be very interesting.
Jessica sat back down and looked at Kinara without blinking, while Kinara pretended not to see that. He sat directly across from his rival.
“Are you looking for Alex? She has already left for the office,” Kinara told Brenda Smith.
“No. I'm looking for you specifically to thank.”
“That's really unnecessary,” refute Kinara.
“No. No. gabe. I owe you my life,” Brenda said as she signaled her servant standing nearby. The girl immediately approached Kinara and handed her a box of maroon-red bellows.
“May you like,” says Brenda again.
“Thank you, Granny,” replied Kinara and stuffed the box into her bag. He actually did not understand the old woman's way of mind. Want to say thank you but come with Alex's ex-lover? It's really very funny, even a little outrageous. Want to provoke him, hum? After all, since when did that cunning woman come? Isn't he out of the country?
“Actually, this was all Jessica's idea. He just got back from London and went straight to see me. I told him everything, then he invited me to come visit. The present, he chose it too. I trust him because you know, his taste is always good,” Brenda chat with a cramped face.
Worth it, Kinara murmured in his heart. The smile on his face grew wider. Now he knew what the real purpose of these two demon women was to visit his house.
“Actually I did not meet you,” errat Jessica while blushing, “Yesterday I visited that small town first, where I used to go there with Alex. You know, there's a playground in the middle of town. There are a lot of memories there. I have to admit, I miss him.. oh, sorry, not I mean ...”
Jessica looked up and looked at Kinara with a look of regret, but Kinara knew for sure that the woman's heart had no regrets at all. That cunning woman is trying to heat her up!
“No problem,” Kinara replied while trying her hardest not to chase away these two uninvited guests. Besides ... means that what Alex saw yesterday was right. She saw Jessica. Her husband did not recognize people wrongly.
“Um, actually I still want to have a conversation, but I really am too late to enter class,” continued Kinara while looking at the clock on her wrist, “Can we meet again next time and continue this fun talk?”
“It's okay, go. I can visit you again sometime,” replied Brenda, “Sorry to have come without telling you first.”
“I'm sorry, Granny. Next time I will visit The Spring Mountains with Alex,” back up Kinara while standing up and preparing to leave.
“Oh, geez!” he cried again when his hand “ accidentally” touched the scarf wrapped around his neck until it slipped. Not too hastily, he picked up the piece of cloth and covered his neck again.
“What is it?” brenda asked when she saw the scars, bites, and red patches along Kinara's neck and shoulders.
“I-this ... nothing,” replied Kinara by putting on her plain face. But he laughed with satisfaction when he saw Jessica's face suddenly pias. She knew she understood what was going on between her and Alex.
Feel it! Want to take it from me again? Keep dreaming because this time I will not stay silent!
