Chapter 71's
Daniel's heart slipped and saw Lorie collapsing in front of him. He swiftly caught the woman's body and carefully wiped it.
“What happened?” he asked the waiter who was still standing beside Lorie anxiously.
“Looks like Miss Lorie is exhausted, Sir,” replied the waiter.
Daniel's face paled. He knew Lorie was pregnant and was quite easily exhausted. Will this affect the fetus in the womb? Suddenly the man panicked.
“Where is the nearest hospital?” tanyanya while carrying Lorie's body.
The waiter asked, “Sorry, Sir. You are?”
“I'm her lover. Quickly tell me, where is the nearest hospital?”
The waiter still seemed hesitant, but Amber who had seen Daniel's face while making a video call with Lorie immediately interjected, “Kakak, This uncle does not lie. She was Aunty's husband. Let's quickly get Aunty to the hospital.”
The little girl was almost crying. His face was flushed red and his eyes were filled with dew which made his throat feel like it was being gagged with cotton. He really felt guilty, if only he hadn't forced his Aunty around the doll palace, maybe the woman wouldn't have been this sick.
Meanwhile, Daniel called “-to-be husband Aunty” wanted to smile widely, but given Lorie's dangerous condition, he immediately galloped forward while holding his lover.
The waiter held back Daniel's movements and said, “Master, wait a minute, I've asked for help.”
Just as the waiter finished saying his sentence, there was the sound of the siren getting closer to them. Five minutes later, an ambulance stopped right by Daniel's side.
Four medics jumped down, then pulled out a gurney from the back of the car. A few men in black suits who had appeared out of nowhere suddenly formed barricades and blocked the curious and wanted to see what was going on.
“Please put Miss Lorie here, Sir,” said one of the men wearing the white uniform.
Daniel laid Lorie down carefully. Unable to do anything to help Lorie, he stepped aside and let the medic check on Lorie's physical condition. He saw Lorie given injections and infusions, then pushed into the ambulance.
“I'm coming!” exclaim Daniel.
He jumped in without waiting for approval from the men. Due to the precarious conditions, no one questioned or rejected the man's words.
“Uncle, keep Aunty well!” exclaim Amber with a hoarse voice. The little girl was now really crying.
Daniel nodded his head before closing the car door. The sound of the ambulance roaring back rang out loud as the vehicle shot out from the park. Along the way, the man did not take his gaze off Lorie's face. The woman's eyes were tightly closed, while her breath seemed weak.
Unknowingly Daniel clenched his hands tightly. Had he arrived earlier, would Lorie's condition not have been this severe?
The man sighed softly and restored his hair. He should have arrived early. That stupid woman really can't take good care of herself. Once he regains consciousness, Daniel is determined not to let him travel or do any other heavy work.
While Daniel was still busy with his own thoughts, the ambulance had already stopped in front of the hospital's main lobby. He was a little surprised when the door opened and a man next to him asked him to come down.
Lorie's safe was lowered and pushed towards the ICU room. A woman wearing a lab coat was standing at the door, welcoming the gurney and asking the nurse for the status of the patient who had examined Lorie.
“But I—“
“Please wait outside.”
The nurse shut the door right in front of Daniel's face.
“Damn it!” he said the man, touching his hair in frustration.
The doctor and nurse's voice went away and could no longer be heard from behind the door. At that moment, for the first time in his life, Daniel felt helpless and terrified. He was very afraid if something happened to Lorie, even though she had not.
“It's only been two days, damn it. You can't leave me.”
The man crouched down and held tightness in his chest. A sense of helplessness hit his heart every time and made him want to punch the wall to pieces.
“How is it?”
“Doctor is checking it out, Mr. Alex. There's Doctor Ana also inside, you don't worry.”
Daniel looked up when he heard the conversation. About five steps away, a man with the appearance of a noble was walking towards the door of the ICU room. Following behind him, there were three twin boys who had gone with Lorie. The boy's third face was red and puffy. Looks like they just cried.
Daniel jumped up and confronted in front of the man.“Are you the boss of Lorie?” tanyakanya.
Alex looked at the stranger in front of him with a frown. He did not feel he recognized her. However, judging from his appearance and clothes, it was clear that he was no ordinary person.
“You are?” Alex asked back.
Amber pulled the tip of her father's hand carefully as she said, “Daddy, This uncle is Aunty Lorie's future husband. He was the one who helped carry Aunty on the ambulance.”
In that precarious moment, Daniel actually held back his desire to lift Amber up and kiss her adorable cheek. In the end, the man just cleared his throat slowly and replied, “That's not entirely wrong. I am Daniel Hill, Lorie.”'s lover
The frown on Alex's forehead deepened, but he had no time to ask further. He also knew what it meant for the man to confront him like this. So, in the end Alex said, “Don't worry, Mr. Hill. You're the first person I'll tell when Lorie wakes up later.”
“Thank you, Mister,” Daniel said as he stepped aside and made way for Alex.
He breathed a sigh of relief. At least he believes Lorie's boss has the ability. He was sure everything would be fine .. would definitely be fine ....
