Chapter 17's
Raymond darted out and went to the security section. A man who served behind the desk did not seem surprised when he heard the words of Raymond, probably because it has often faced the demand of hotel visitors who are diverse and sometimes unreasonable.
“Sorry, Sir. You said there was an intruder into your room last night?”
“Ya.”
“But how can? Does he have an access card to get into the room?”
“No. I was drunk and happened to accidentally open the door for her. I thought it was the person I was waiting for,” explained Raymond somehow to how many times, but the guard before him seemed to still not believe the description.
“Sorry, we cannot—“
“I will take this case to the police station. Does the hotel management want the case exposed to the public?”
“It ...”
The guard exhaled slowly. After fighting with the dilemma in his heart, he finally opened the door of the CCTV monitoring room and asked his colleague to play the recording closest to room 121. The face of the officer who was threatened by Raymond suddenly changed when he saw a woman who entered the room and came out almost dawn, sneak around like a thief and get into room 120.
It was not only the guard that was dumbfounded. Raymond's mouth was also gaping wide, but not a single sound was heard. He was so shocked he didn't know what to say. The man restored his hair and then covered his face with his hands.
“That's your room neighbor, Sir. Do you know him?”
Not possible ....
That is absolutely impossible!
There's no way Lorie walked into her room last night! There's no way he slept with that woman and ... oh, my God, what did he do? What if Alice finds out? How will Lorie behave to him later? Ramond clenched his hands and punched the wall in annoyance. He punched several times so that the task in the room had to remind him in order to control himself.
“If you know him, you can talk about this carefully, Sir. What items are missing from your room, if we may know?” ask the officer who played the CCTV footage.
“Nothing is missing. I took something from the woman,” Raymond replied before walking out, leaving the two hotel attendants stunned and staring at each other in astonishment. The two men then shrugged each other and continued their respective tasks.
Raymond walked out of the hotel and sat on a roadside bench, staring at the pushy vehicle. Should he contact Lorie to apologize and explain everything? Also said that he was too embarrassed to meet the woman directly, but .. now he does not carry a cell phone.
After all, what should he say to that woman? That he was drunk? That he thought that woman was Alice?
Wouldn't that just make her feelings worse?
“Ya, Lord ... what I've done ...”
The man sighed softly and slouched his face over his arm. The problem with Alice is not finished, but now a new problem arises because of her carelessness. He cursed to himself and breathed a sigh of despair. If Alice also knew what happened between herself and Lorie last night, what would her fiance do? Does he still want to continue their relationship or dump him?
Though he had intended to fix everything and accept the desire of his lover to continue his profession as a model. He persuades his parents to accept Alice for who she is, explaining to them that she is a good woman and worthy of being his wife. But now ....
After thinking a thousand times until his head felt throbbing and almost exploded, he finally made a decision, however he had to meet Lorie directly. It cannot be cowardly to make shame an excuse. He took something very meaningful from her. Therefore, he must apologize directly even though he does not know what compensation is worth to replace the loss of the woman. He stood up suddenly and darted towards the door.
The man quickly returned to the hotel and knocked on Lorie's room door. However, after knocking for a very long time, no answer could be heard from inside.
Is he really angry?
“Raymond, what happened?”
Raymond turned around quickly when he heard Alice's voice from behind his body. He had even forgotten that his girlfriend was still waiting in his room.
“What are you doing there?” ask Alice again because Raymond won't respond to her question.
Raymond clenched his hands tightly before replying, “Nothing. Come in.”
He grabbed Alice's hand and took her back to the room. For now, he could not say anything to his fiancee, wait until he met and apologized to Lorie.
