Substitute Bride For Young Master

Substitute Bride For Young Master
Chapters 10

The Royal Club stands right next to the not-so-crowded Sweets Bakery. The two buildings look contrasting, one shades of light blue and bright, while the other one seems majestic and intimidating because of the shape of the building and the nuances are dominated by dark colors.

When Lorie pushed open the door of Royal Clun, a woman greeted her at the door and immediately asked her to follow her into the VIP room. Lorie was quite surprised to find that people from Drun Industry recognized her as soon as she walked into the building. Did they investigate her profile secretly?

Lorie frowned. Suddenly he remembered the words of Alex who asked him to be careful because the people from Drun Industry were not as simple as what they displayed on the surface. His level of vigilance increased when he saw at least five men in black suits along the passageway leading to the VIP room.

Now I am a little sorry for coming alone, Lorie grumbled inwardly.

As the woman who picked him up opened the VIP door and invited him to enter, Lorie stuffed a hand into her suit pocket and activated a tracking signal directly connected to the main headquarters in Broockyln and Venice. Now he feels a little calm. At least Alex knows where to send people to look for it if something happens in a meeting with a client this time.

“Please sit down, Vice CEO—“

“Call Lorie only.”

The black bead of the man across the table looked shiny as Lorie looked at him. From the looks of it, Lorie was pretty sure the man was Rafael, the owner of Drun Industry. Rafael tilted a slanted smile and whispered to a man on his right side. Shortly after, the man who had just been whispered came out of the room.

“Please sit down, Miss Lorie,” said the woman who had taken Lorie.

Upon seeing Lorie sitting down, he immediately opened the dark brown leather suitcase on the table and took out a sheet of documents. However, as yet he had no time to explain anything, the magnetic voice from across the table stopped his movement.

“Spatience a little, Grace. You'll surprise Miss Lorie for being too serious at work.” The man crossed his legs and leaned back on the sofa leisurely. He stared fixedly at Lorie and asked, “How about we drink first?”

“I don't drink alcohol, Mr. Rafael,” reply Lorie politely.

“It doesn't matter if Miss Grace wants to discuss Drun Industry's employment contract with Jotuns Corps,” she continued with a big smile.

The man called Rafael looked calm. His facial water did not change at all despite Lorie's offer of rejection. That calm and unreadable attitude must have been the result of years of practice, also after interacting with so many business associates.

Unfortunately that domineering attitude did not make Lorie's guts shrink at all. Alex Smith was a very competent teacher, and Lorie had learned everything from the man: cruelty, domineering attitude, as well as a condescending look at the opponent. Three years is enough time for him to inherit everything from Alex, and. He got it after going through various tests that made his mentality as hard as steel. Therefore, instead of feeling intimidated, Lorie crossed her legs elegantly after putting her bag on the table.

The woman then returned Rafael's gaze with a sharp look while saying, “Jotuns Corps has some conditions. I hope you are willing to check it out before we discuss this cooperation further.”

The glint in Rafael's eyes looked increasingly sharp. Lorie could see the interest in the man's facial expression growing.

Lorie maintained her sitting position and returned Rafael's gaze in the manner taught by Alex. Never turn away, not for a second. Whatever your opponent may be, never turn your face away. It was a way to show who was alpha in an invisible psychological rivalry.

“Well ... Miss Lorie, you didn't let me down,” muttered Rafael after almost half a minute of seeing Lorie. “Before I thought you were a weak woman who relied solely on face or appearance. I'm guilty. Please forgive my sass just now.”

“I will assume nothing happened,” reply Lorie while removing the map from her bag.

Rafael advances his body and signals his men to retrieve the dossier Lorie proposes. This time the man looked very excited and full of enthusiasm, the smile on his face looked more natural and friendly.

A chip implanted in the cranium and able to control people, who wouldn't be interested?

Rafael examined the documents in his hands seriously. Every point he attached was read carefully. The atmosphere in the room was suddenly quiet. None of Raphael's men dared to move or speak. Lorie even felt like she could hear the breath of everyone nearby because of the silence that controlled the air.

Paper sheets rustle when they are turned. Shortly after, Rafael's facial expression turned grim. He threw the documents on the table and looked at Lorie sharply.
