What do you imagine when you look for a job? if you remember, my previous two jobs all came from the power of connection. The job of being a teacher I got from my aunt, while the second job I got from my omku in Tangerang. Without that factor, maybe I would have a different job. And time to get a longer job without this.

Even so, I am still grateful to have been able to get work from both places. Because from the world, we as humans can grow better. But be careful, can also a bad work environment can turn us into bad people as well. We ourselves must have a strong stand before we begin to plunge into it. Like the story of my friend who worked at BUMN often confided about work while we were hanging out.

Because it is undeniable, we have to work to live. As the saying goes ‘if it does not work, it will not be able to nasi’. We have to work to get a wage, then we use the money to meet our needs. In addition to regulating income, we must also be able to regulate expenses so that we do not die first before payday arrives.

Payday can be different from one place to another. Some pay at the end of the month, mid-month, some work at the end of the month. It all comes back to the policies of each company you work for.

Now, I'm back browsing about the job vacancies that are currently in existence. But I'm not wholeheartedly looking for a new job, because there are two main factors.

First, I want to try to live from writing. I have been fascinated with the world of novels for a long time. Curious to feel the life of the work and imagination that we have. Opportunities certainly exist, but it all goes back to what my writing skills were like, and how readers would react to my work.

Second, there was an issue from Bule Yeni that I would be given a job. Ever since the big family found out I was looking for a job. They eagerly offered me a job. So I'm looking for a half-hearted job because I want to see how things work out. Reality says something else. Because sometimes, reality is not as beautiful as our imaginations and plans.

Novels that I have made with great difficulty, I spend time typing words per word and also spend time looking for ideas. Very few people try and read my work. Especially with the number of chapters that are still small, my work is still not allowed to apply for a contract.

That's why within a month, I tried to reach the minimum sentence target for contract submission. The struggle was successful and I was very happy when the contract submission button on my work page was clicked. But the reality was so cruel, before the contract went down, there were still a lot of things I had to fix.

“Waduh, why failed this!?” I said while looking at the writing on my computer screen.

It's clear that I didn't pass the initial review. It turned out that before the contract, I still had to go back through several stages before my novel would be officially contracted. Just the initial stage, it turns out my novel has been rejected outright. It has been hard to meet the minimum number of words, even rejected.

“Try me to see, what the hell is less than my work to not pass the review?” I slowly began to read what the comments of the party who rejected my work were.

They say (or type) that the synopsis of the work is still lacking and there is no cover. I guess the synopsis should not be too long so that the reader is curious about what the content of our work is, it turns out that the number of words I enter for the synopsis is too little.

The illustrations? I am a writer. Why do you still think of illustrations at the beginning of the work? Indeed it seems to have been irrelevant saying ‘Do not value the book from the cover’. After reading both causes of my initial review failure, I immediately corrected all the shortcomings.

“Alright, so I just need to add synopsis and add cover?”

“Hah!? Have to wait one month to apply for another contract!!!” I was shocked when I saw that I had to wait another month to apply for a re-contract. If you know it will be like this, you should not be wrong in the beginning when applying for a contract.

“Hah, want to not want. Gotta wait deh”

It's true, people say, everything we do. There must be a challenge. Even to be a writer is not separated from all obstacles. But I dreamed. If you want to become a novelist is a person who needs money quickly. Is a novel a suitable path for her?

“I don't think, there's no instant in this world.”

When I realized this. I thought about whether I would continue writing this novel. Because actually I still have other online activities as well that all have the potential to make money. Remember..”Berpotensi”.

All online activities can make money. But can everything be instant and can get a lot of treasure? Not necessarily. There are times when people can go viral quickly and get money fast, but after that the person disappears because it has not gone viral anymore in a short time.

There are also people who have survived for a long time in the digital industry. After earning enough income, start moving to other platforms because digital competition has begun to be less healthy. When thinking about this, I immediately looked for research on this in terms of novelists. Turns out, I found something surprising.

“Ke..Why are all genres beginning all?” When I saw what novel was top right now on the platform I was on. I was surprised because it turned out, the genre was so different from the story I liked.

As a guy, I usually like stories about cultivation as well as systems. I also love that there is a romance element in it. But that's not the main thing. Action novels are one of my favorites. Especially if there are game elements and other world spices. Top is that.

But it turns out when I see the top novels. Most of them all go into the romance genre. There are rarely any other genres. In fact there are also genres that are rather ‘Dangerous’ into the top ranks as well.

Not only in the world of social media, it turns out that people like things that smell romantic and a little dangerous. It turns out that here is the same. Realizing this, I was in my brain to stop doing this.

“I can't give up! With a total of 200 million more people in Indonesia. Everyone loves romance. Surely they sometimes also try to read other genres.”

In the end I decided to start trying out what the top novels with the genre were like. Instead of forcing yourself to write a story that sells but the author does not like. It is better to make a novel at will so that it will not stop in the middle of the road. As long as it does not violate the rules created by the platform.
