Back off a little time, by the time I started working in Tangerang. I started to get some new contacts. Especially the contact of one of the underclassmen in college, Gusti. Ever since I graduated, I rarely went back to London to chat and hang out with her.
We used to hang out a lot when I was in college, especially if there was a Jejepangan event. In the past, Jogja often held events like this. At least once every 3 months, there must be such an event. Of course, this activity only happens in big cities, because there is a lot of money there. I think for a small town it's rare to have an event like that.
When I contacted Gusti again, I got word that he had now started working in Jakarta. It just so happens that from Jakarta to Tangerang, the distance is quite close. Although it still takes almost 2 hours using the train. If you use a private car, it may be faster. But what power because now I am still pioneering my career, the choice to buy a car does not appear in my mind at all.
Just like in college, we usually gather when there is a show watching an anime movie or there is a side-by-side event. This time we agreed to go together for an event that was there. There are a lot of sponsors who participate in events like this. Usually the place used is a hall like a kartini hall in Jakarta. Other halls are also sometimes used as event venues.
I also went to UII Japanese literature to attend a branch event. If the Japanese literature lecture must have been clear why it could hold an event smelling of the sakura country. Because Japanese culture is indeed quite large in Indonesia, although it may not be as big as other communities such as kpop and others. But I have only enjoyed anime from Japan so far. Not to get carried away to cosplay characters to use Japanese in everyday life.
[“Mas, would you like to join this event?”]
[Gusti sent a photo]
‘Hmm, what's this event?,, Wah, step event, pull.”
[“Bby, what time do you want to meet? just meet there, right?”]
[“Iya mas, later the show at 10, to there at 11 aja mas”]
[“Ok, I'll see you later on Saturday”]
Usually the event is announced a week or a few days before the event starts. The event is also held on Saturdays and Sundays. Just right with the weekend time, when people have a lot of free time and can attend events. Although usually the event is held more than one day. Gusti and I usually choose one day only, because it is more cost-effective and we choose to come on a day of cosplay events. That's why an event rundown is very important for a branch event like this.
This trip to Jakarta is one of the entertainment that I usually get when I start working in Tangerang. Because when I became a teacher, I rarely get to walk out of town like this. Because my school is from Monday to Saturday. But if I work in the office at this time, Saturday is the day I can rest. Because his workday is only Monday to Friday.
Playing games on gadgets, traveling to a branching event, and watching Japanese anime are my entertainment when facing the fatigue of office work. Do you have the same entertainment as me? surely each person has their own way to overcome their stress at school or face the world of work. Everyone has their own healing ways. For this time, I have to prepare later when I attend a branch event in Jakarta.
*Hari H Events*
Not felt, finally the time of the streets has arrived. The day before, I checked several times through my mobile phone the route I was about to take to the meeting place. Because it's my first time to the venue where the show is held. Indeed the name of the place I often hear, Balai Kartini. But I've never been to a place before.
After confirming the suitable route, I did various simulations and calculations of travel time based on the data from Bole Map. Then I matched the timing of our appointment, because I really didn't like coming late on the appointment. Relieved to make sure the route, I immediately departed according to the time I set.
Before there, I had eaten breakfast first, then went straight to Serpong station. Ride KRL, then I get off at Palmerah Station. From Palmerah I use the online ojek to get to the destination faster. Although it is cheaper to walk for a while then use the Transjakarta bus, I prefer to spend a little more money but the body is not too tired to use the bus.Find a faster method of transportation to the destination.
Up to Balai Kartini, I immediately contacted Gusti about his current position.
“Ke here aja mas, I again ngantri this.”
I went straight to the queueing spot after confirming Gusti's position. Indeed, if the event is like this, usually tickets are sold on the day of the event. But sometimes also sold pre-order tickets online. Events like this usually hang around very long. Sure enough, when I looked at the queue, the end with the ticket purchase place was quite far away. About a hundred meters long.
The thing I salute from the people present at events like this, their queue culture is already good enough. Although there are also some people who steal the queue when there is an opportunity. This time fortunately Gusti has managed to get a place in the middle of the queue so that waiting for tickets is not too long.
Just like me, Gusti is indeed if hanging out rarely late. Although late, certainly not too long. The proof is that he arrived first to this place and queued for tickets. It's only natural that his residence is closer than I have to depart from Tangerang to get to this place.
We both queued up while talking about some things while waiting for the queue. Especially about the anime that is airing this season. Looks like we are one of the ongoing team, but Gusti himself in my opinion Hybrid. Since there were several anime series he watched ongoing, there were also ones he watched in batches. Everyone has their own way of watching.
But it's a pity for batch teams because they usually get spoilers. Indeed, there are so many people or brazen accounts that easily give spoilers without giving a warning beforehand. I really hate such an account, auto I mute the post from the timeline. Fun chatting, it did not feel we had reached the boot queue for ticket purchases.
I saw that there was no cashless payment in this place, so Gusti and I had a joint venture to buy tickets with the right money. Because if the officer has to look for change, pity others who are waiting behind. After getting the tickets, we went straight inside the event hall and wore the tickets on our wrists.
Events like this are usually paired on the left or right arm. So if you want to go back to show the ticket in hand. I remember when I attended a 2-day event with the same ticket, I did not take it off while sleeping. Indeed, a bracelet ticket like this is practical, but it makes me difficult when ablution or bathing.
We looked at the rundown and saw that there were no special events in this place. Even if there is, the seating provided is not adequate for everyone. Dariapda tired of watching standing, we chose to look for items from the existing booth only. I myself don't seem to be looking for a lot of anime stuff for this time.
Unlike Gusti who still likes to buy figures, especially anime loli characters that come from the anime that has the word “rabbit” in the title. Right now I have no desire to buy such things. Maybe mentok-mentok will buy clothes or key chains only if there is an intention. Because for posters and confused figures want the narrative where.
Maybe later if you already have a fixed house, there will be a special room that contains figures and friends. That's also if the couple agrees with it. If you do not agree, the time is forced. Could be a third world war. Lots of stuff sold at this event. Not bad if tired of decorating the contract with anime goods, but the ends even moved rented.
Just like other branch events, usually the goods sold are being crowded or indeed from famous works.especially anime ongoing, because that's when changing seasons, especially anime, usually, the merchandise they sell will also change. Because most people are more familiar with new anime than old anime.
There are so many stands at the event and provide various kinds of goods at different prices as well. Just how expert and lucky you can find the item you are looking for at the right price. For Gusti, he did not bother because he already had a subscription store that sold figures. He said he also sometimes buys pre-order items also in the same store online.
But keep in mind, most items sold in booths like this are not original items, but made from a community. That's why don't expect the quality will be very good. Remember, there is a price for quality.
I sometimes wonder why I have to go to even if the ends later buy online as well? But I do not deny, it is different to feel when buying online by buying directly on the spot when the event takes place. There are different flavors to buying through online and buying things in person. My journey with Gusti exploring the event still not finished.
