The Colorful Work World

The Colorful Work World
Ch. 99 KPPS Committee

Although the condition of the father is now in the hospital as an office employee who has responsibility. I should still be running the office errands that came to me. Fortunately, at this time work has started from home (WFH) so that if there is anything, I can directly take care of the father because currently the domicile is at home. Not contracted in Tangerang like last year.

Besides, the contract over there has been handed back. Because the office still seems to be doing WFH for a long time and there is no indication that it will go back to the office in the near future. In order to save the cost, I decided to take off the contract that was there.

While I was working in the office, I heard a news about the current state of Indonesian government. How many are trying to make rules in short order and help many people during this pandemic. Because all countries are not ready to face it.

With this new virus, we also need new innovations to address this problem. But as long as the real solution is still not realized, it would be nice for us to follow the government's advice. Not too difficult, we just need to wear masks, wash our hands, and stay away from the crowd. There are many more ways to reduce covid, but the 3m I mentioned earlier is the most efficacious way that has been known for now.

My mother who almost never went out of the house could be hit from outsiders who stopped by. Especially people who often travel to hang out clearly outside the house. Whether it's still there or not, people don't believe in covids. Surely the believer is the one from the family there who works as a doctor or has experienced it himself.

Seeing our president Mr. J provides an explanation of this current issue. I remember when I became a committee of KPPS (Group of Voting Organizers) first. At that time in April 2019. Indonesia began to bustle with its political party of electing a new president. With two presidential candidates running to become the number one person in Indonesia.

At that time I remember once if there had not been a month I worked in Tangerang. At that time, I got a call from my father about this.

“Halo father. What was? tumben called? "

“Begini Ray, I want to say something.”

On the phone, he told me that I was nominated as a KPPS committee. Without my prior consent. I just don't know what KPPS is, suddenly told to come along. Document management since I taught has begun to be taken care of. Starting from the collection of health certificates and other conditions.

I was very eager to refuse the offer but because I had to come along. With a hard father nature is impossible to change his decision. His end inevitably I was trapped into the members of the KPPS. Unexpectedly, when I just started working in Tangerang, it was even told to carry out this heavy task.

“Alright Ray, that's all you want to say. Later election day do not forget to come here. Don't make your father shy. ”

*Tuut.tuut..tuut*

After that parting sentence that I thought was a bit threatening, you hung up the phone. I could only sigh and begin the plan to return home when the election takes place. Fortunately from Tangerang returning home only takes about 2-3 hours using public transportation. Not as far from the city.

I made it back about a day before the election. Because there are some things that must be taken care of before election day.

“Ray, go you there facing RT pack, to be absent as KPPS.” Speak with a high tone and tell.

Just came home and put the bag, had not had time to sit down, even told to come out again. Emotions have peaked but seeing the mother who gave a signal to be patient, I just stay in my heart and then go straight to the KPPS tent that has been completed in the wake.

“Eh, the Ray has arrived. Come sign here keep grabbing the envelope.” Say pack RT while sending a signature on the paper that is already available.

I saw at a glance, there were only a few people who became the committee for the election this time. Maybe not ten people. After my signature, I received an ampoule containing wages for activities that will occur tomorrow.

“Isn't anything this shared now?” I asked RT.

That's true too RT said. Because the committee is residents around, it is not difficult to find their whereabouts. Moreover, my residence is right next to KPPS. That's why I couldn't escape.

After chatting for a while with RT and the other members, I immediately returned home for a quick break tonight because tomorrow will be a very big event. If tomorrow is less rest, can berabe later.

*The next day*

I woke up after turning off the alarm I had set up. The morning prayers I performed then I immediately had breakfast because for the KPPS committee to gather it quite early, at 06 am exactly. After putting on my trouser uniform and shirt shirt, I drove to where we were supposed to be. But nothing, I was told to go home to change clothes.

“Ray, can not wear a shirt, change use batik sleeve panjan only. is there?” Speak RT sir while giving a signal to go back home.

Hearing the order of RT sir, inevitably I went straight back home and asked my mother to get a batik shirt. Because I don't know where the clothes are kept.

“How about this one Ray?”

“Suitable mah, I try ya” first

Fortunately the batik that my mother gave me the measure was just right. While posing in the mirror, I again say goodbye to Sudan wearing batik clothes. After gathering, RT finally began the opening of the general election event for 2019.

“Come, all lines here. We start the opening ceremony first”

This activity reminds me of a flag ceremony. Indeed, if the events in the governing body like this, everything is full of ceremonials that are more or less time-consuming. The ceremony begins with the opening speech, the elaboration of the day's activities, then closes with prayer.

“Aamiin”

After all the opening sessions were over, then we started moving to open the voting booth and the others.

“Good father mother, let's stand by on the spot according to yesterday” instructions

“Siap” says all organizers answer pack RT.

Election activity finally began. Approximately, will everything go well? because this is the first time I've been to an activity like this. Hopefully there are no significant obstacles to the event this time. So that the event smoothly jaya from start to finish later.

I stand by myself close to the exit, keeping the ink and making sure all the voters who have finished his finger have been smeared by the ink that has been prepared. The job is quite simple but it must be meticulous. Don't let your guard down until someone misses and forgets to dip their fingers.
