Confused to see no way to get into the office. There's no way I'm forced to break down to get inside. It will cause new problems. In the end I could only dumbstruck in front of the office while waiting for if there were any additional instructions from seniors and superiors.
“Eh, new guy huh? already fingerprint list yet?” Said one of the people who came out of the office.
“True sir, I haven't listed. Today is the first time working”
“Ikut I'm just in here, go to which company?”
“PT Electronic Jaya pak”
“Oalah, that's the top floor. Come with me until there”
The officer immediately led me to the top floor. According to the information from him, this shophouse has 2 companies that house it. Elektronik Jaya (EJ) with Bestfriend. Because there was a change of employees, EJ who had been in office on the 3rd floor, moved to the 1st floor.
While going to the 3rd floor, I caught a glimpse of the condition of each floor. First floor there are 2 meeting rooms, 1 bathroom, and 1 mosque. The 2nd floor I saw there was one living room and one bathroom. In addition, add some small offices that I do not know the number.
It was the third floor with one bathroom and then a large room. In addition, there is another terrace where special place to smoke. This floor also has a sink and coffee place all placed here.
Up to the 3rd floor, I just sat down and chatted with people around. Our conversation was just about ngalor ngidul and nothing to do with work. But there was a pretty funny conversation. About the names of places in Yogyakarta.
“Where was school?” ask one of the officers while looking at me.
“Jogja pak” I replied rather awkwardly as this is the first time we met.
“Hever been to xxx and xxx yet? Have you ever been to xxx?”
He mentioned some of the names of places in Jogjakarta. But I have never visited let alone heard the name of the place. I know I rarely go out in college. Most come out just to go to the mole just watch a movie with friends or foraging outside.
The result is that spot photos or unique tourist attractions I do not know at all. But the officer continued his question.
“To where have you been in 96? I have been to many places this year. Where have you never been?”
I was quiet for a while and answered “...I was born this year Pak”
“...”
We were silent for a moment and then he said “Waduh, I feel like an age if it's like this, hahaha.” The other employee also laughed when he heard one of the people commenting like that.
On this floor there are a few people. Even though I was able to get to introduce myself. But I don't remember their names at all. Because we were in a different PT. This meeting was the first time we met and so on maybe we will rarely get together again.
After that chat we all continued our respective duties. Except for me who still doesn't know what to do today. Until one of the co-workers from EJ has reached the top floor.
“Eh, it's Patience sir has arrived, nih sir, new member has arrived.” Said one of the people there while pointing at me.
“Oh, sir Ray has arrived? have you taken the laptop?”
“Not yet sir, where can I grab that laptop?”
An office friend named Mr. Patar has worked here long enough. He was originally from a sister company but because of an incident. He was eventually forced to enter EJ. He usually takes care of networking for companies that are in our group. Good thing I didn't get a job to network because I wasn't too good an expert yet. While in college just cut the cable RJ45 difficulty.
After a brief introduction, I received the laptop then went to the first floor to find a place to work. Unfortunately, the room for the EJ office is still under repair, because it cannot be used.
Inevitably, I went to the room that I had used yesterday as an interview venue. The place is quite small and can only fit for 4 people sitting at maximum. Probably only about 2x2 meters in size.
“Not sir, it just want me to open”
Slowly I opened the laptop and then I kept quiet for a while. Because of the shock of seeing the spec owned by this laptop. Lately I know that the price of this laptop is about 10 million rupiah. Enough specs to do a wide variety of web-based application creation.
“Where? good right? this will be the laptop for you to create programs. Today, you focus on learning first. Have you heard of scriptcase?”
“But pak” I replied while shaking my head.
“Directly search on google then watch the tutorial while downloading the software. Password for wifi is XXX. Today and the next few days you focus on learning this application only yes.”
“Alright pak”
After that conversation, we both focused on our work. Pak Rawan with his project while I focus on learning to watch video tutorials. Mr. Rawan I saw at a glance it looks like a Chinese. We probably have different beliefs too.
It is impossible when the first meeting I immediately pretentious and asked a strange question. Just let it flow and later the topic of chat will appear by itself. Different beliefs do not mean you cannot work together. There may even be times when working with people other than my religion is easier and more conducive. As long as we can't interfere with each other, I think that's the right tolerance.
When I was focusing on watching the video, there were times when I wore a jacket and stretched my body. Because of the delay in sitting in a chair, the body becomes sore.
“Pegal ya pack Ray?” Ask Rawan while laughing.
“Iya sir, passable. Usually fit not much sitting” answered me with a smile.
Mr. Rawan I see-see rarely start the conversation. Because I am also a quiet person, as a result we are mostly just the two of us just silent in a busy room with their respective work. Until one day I saw that I was about to have lunch.
“Pak Prone, usually lunch break what time?”
Pak Rawan looked at me and said “Jam twelve to one o'clock in the afternoon. Later return usually at five in the afternoon if entered at eight in the morning and at half six in the afternoon if the entry at half nine”
“Ok sir, I said lunch first pak” I replied while standing up to take the wallet and hp.
“Please sir, monggo” Say it with a smile.
From what I noticed, it seems like Mr. Rawan usually brings provisions to the office. Probably given by his wife. My guess is he's married and has kids. But I haven't asked him directly about it.
This morning when I left for the office, I still saw a lot of places to eat. Just look at it looks like there are some chicken and donut restaurants near the office. There is also a place to eat pizza. There is a lot of temptation to taste food in restaurants around the workplace.
But of course, as a new employee who has not received a salary transfer, I choose to eat only padang cuisine. Cheap, delicious, and make the stomach full. Food with a complete menu. This time I chose chicken with fresh tea. It turned out to be only 15,000 rupiah. Pretty well at that cost can be full until later tonight.
After eating, I looked for a mushola for my prayers at the office. But according to Mr. Rawan, because it is being renovated, it seems that the mosque in the office building cannot be used. Inevitably, I had to find a place some distance away to perform worship.
I guess where I can find it? At first I opened the map to see the location. But everything is quite far from my place, having to use a vehicle. What power do I use angkot to go to the office.
“Pak Ray, where are you going? want to pray? it's in the mall there, there's the prayer above?” One of the janitors saw me and gave me advice for prayer.
“There yes? thank you, Mr. Herman. Upstairs yes.lumayan lah make sport” said me while looking at the mole is.
“Then I first Mr. Herman, want to pray first.”
“Be careful, do not forget souvenirs. hehehe” Canda sir Herman while looking out of the office.
Mr. Herman is the only janitor in this office. He also manages three other shophouses simultaneously. It's great that he works. The person also likes to chat and friendly so it is fun when invited to discussions. Hopefully I can get along with him while working here.
